Too bad the Europeans won't get it, but it really wouldn't surprise me to see a few get "imported" by a few folks. That being said, despite the car being absolutely incredible, anyone with half a brain know that the CTC (coupe) with the direct-injection V6 will end up being the "bread and butter" car that everyone would prefer to have anyway.

HOLD THE PHONE! We have a bit of a change. Looks like the CTS is going hunting after all.

Lock & Load: CTS-V to go hunting in Europe after all
Last week, we reported on a Top Gear piece that indicated Cadillac would not be sending the CTS-V super-sedan to Europe. Cadillac contacted us with some corrections and clarifications, which we now deliver to you. First, the CTS-V is going to Europe. That fantasy matchup in the likes of Auto Motor und Sport that pits it against the likes of the M5, RS6 and the AMG E-Class is bound to happen after all. Top Gear's complaint centered around the UK-market's particular situation. You see, the CTS-V is not going to Blighty in right-hand-drive form. The V-Series car is only being produced with the steering wheel on the left side of the IP, though the company STILL can (and intends to) offer a limited number of CTS-V sedans in the UK in LHD configuration, according to Caddy spokesman David Caldwell. This could be duplicated in other RHD markets as well, save for Australia, where apparently, the regulations are such that left-hand-drive vehicles are simply not an option. We won't shed a tear for Australia, though. They have plenty of cool stuff that we won't see either.

So, to sum up: the CTS-V will be exported. Europe will see it, and so might the UK, but with the steering wheel on the "wrong" side (as far as they're concerned).

Ah, well, that makes sense. The Germans will still be able to enjoy the CTS-V in the proper way, so, I suppose someone comes out well in the end.

Happy hunting GM!

0-60 in less than four seconds with a top speed of 191... from Cadillac? Pretty capable car with numbers like that. Only question is if other competing luxury car makes will have a definite answer for Caddy. That includes BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and whomever else is in the sniper sights of Cadillac. Be careful messing with this Cadillac because you could be the next victim of a cold barrel sniper shot (something I learned from "Police Quest: SWAT" for the PC back in the mid-'90s) from Cadillac.

*Awaiting comments about semi-racing tires, how the Audi RS6 will be faster, How it's ugly and unworthy, etc...*

I agree the performance is impressive but it's still unbelievably ugly, it has way to much bling factor with it. However, this doesn't make it unworthy to be called a good car, it's just not pretty.

I like the looks. It's edgy and different to the rest, and while being somewhat modern is still muscular.

*Awaits "ZOMG the fanboy is at it again what a loser" comments*

Typically cars described as edgy and different are ugly. What's wrong with mainstream? That's what works.

No one is ever perfectly happy with the look of the CTS, and that's fine by me. I think the "normal" model is better looking than the V, but that's just my opinion. Either way, for the car to be that fast all while towing around 4200 lbs (give or take) is quite a feat. I'm glad they brought the hammer to the M5, now we just need a good race against the RS6 just for the hell of it...

Hunting season continues.....
Don't say I didn't wanr you.

So the CTS-V goes, stops and handles better- WIN!

Yay! The typical, "Let's throw more power at it!" attitude is back in GM's head. Seriously, you're punching out an extra 50Bhp and the best you could grab on the M5 was .2 seconds in the QTR mile?

I'll wait see how it does at the track though against the 2. It shouldn't be that much a surprise either considering the M5 at the least (not sure about the Merc.) are due for an update sooner or later.

Weight is likely part of the problem, unfortunately. But, considering that it will likely be $20K cheaper than the M5, I don't think their shoppers will be thinking of that.

You never know if it was a bit of driver error too, being a supercharged V8 traction is always going to be a struggle. Times like 100km/hr-200km/hr would be very interesting IMO.

Wrong thread... besides... since GM already produces the Corvette, most people won't bother...
