If anyone havent gotten the news. The full damage model are going to be implemented next week. They are aiming at launching it 2. December. But that date is just the goal, as we know (from experience) we shouldnt take next week litterly. But atleast they are working on it!

Are you sure about that and do you understand it yourself? would be nice:tup:

I can tell you that Gt 5 physics are already awesome. There is no fake "Automatic rollover on tires" like in F..ehh In other games:sly:

Check my rollover vid

I received a Trophy for this :)

Well, as i am Norwegian...I think i can say that i understand it 100% :)

From the text:

- Skade blir implementert i en oppdatering som kommer i begynnelsen av desember, sa sjefen sjøl, Kazunori Yamauchi.
In English:
Damage will be implemented in a patch that is releasing in the beginning of december, said the boss himself. Kazunori Yamuchi.

This source is legit, if anyone wonders. One of Norways biggest newspapers. They were talking to him face to face. So we have clearified that too. ;)

Ok thanks BUT the question now iiiis

what's whit the people with a PS 3 but without an Internet connection?

I Think they would have a different gaming experience? I don't know if I should belive that.

I ofcourse believe you and your translation but it's kinda strange :S

I guess thats the HUGE downside, they will not be able to get the patch (or the other upcomming ones). Unless you can download onto a USB and install on PS3.

Edit: I guess this explains the "it will appear later" announcement on his twitter page too.

And nice roll versous :D

I had damage in Arcade mode yesterday. The rear bumper of the F40 was gone and some severe dents on the front. I was impressed.

I can't imagine there being too many people with no internet these days. Kinda sucks for them but I'm sure there will be a way for them to get it aswell.

Yeah, I know that we are talking about the minority.

But I think there are people out there which still have no Internet or a very slow connection. However. There'll be a solution.:)

@SonicVolcano

True, but I still miss the mechanical damage. Hope it's gonna be included in the next patch too:tup:

EDIT: @ Caliente thank you , it was a sick experience in the cockpit View:crazy::)
and sorry for my english

I can't imagine anyone who has a copy of GT5 not having access to the internet, as long as they make it installable from USB everyone should be covered.

How can anyone get upset about having a patch for a game nowadays? Every game that i have purchased in the past 2 years have had patches after release.. every game. even televisions have patches you have to get over the internet now

Most games have patches to fix issues with the game or add new content, now it says on my box 'vehicle damage' and there isn't. If I didnt have the internet I would have paid for something I havent got. Its not an issue or new content - its an element of the game that was disabled because it wasnt finished in time for Christmas!

Taking the above into account I think those who cant update to get the damage can get justifiably upset.

Sorry but the physics on that crash are absolutely terrible, I just had a great race in the Japanese classic section- take a break of here for 5 then see that. Its becoming a bit of a curate's egg for me this game - if the car is on the road and doesnt go near any fence, barrier or other car its a perfect driving experience, but racing isnt always like that and the engine shows its flaws at that point

One thing that strikes me is how objects off the track do not move or break into pieces. Take for example the foam plates on the side of the tracks which show the speed entry, they are indestructible and cars just bounce off them..even at 200MPH, it really is pathetic. If codemasters can develop a system where by off track items actually deform and break, Im sure polyphony can

F1 2010 is still the number one game for me, GT5 is great but the indestructible cars and the way you can literally bounce off other cars whilst passing them put me off. Oh and did i mention the crappy multiplayer, better still, non existent online play?

For a game that was developed over a period of 5 years...there is no excuses. Patch is welcome but i doubt it will solve theses minor yet important flaws

There IS technically vehicle damage...

Then I must be a better driver than I thought as in 12 hours of game time my cars havent got a single scratch. Might have to wait for some local youth to run keys down the side of my car before I see any.

Are people sure there is no mechanical damage in Arcade Mode? I ask because I took the Trans-Cammer round Monaco (first thing I did in the game) and I smashed it up a bit, after so long the steering was constantly pulling the car to the left and there was continous smoke coming from the car. It was obviously mechanical damage so...?

I'm A-Spec level 13 or 14 and already managed to damage my 512BB and 207 GTI, not even on purpose. Okay, it wasn't much, but the front from the Ferrari was skewed a lot of one contact with a wall in Rome once.

I completely wrecked a car in Arcade mode, by driving backwards.

It would only reach half of it's top speed and the wheels kept turning left.

That was after about five HUGE crashes, though.

As I said there was no damage in the game I thought I had better be sure, drove the wrong way around the speedway circuit for about the last 15 minutes as yes after about 30-40 head on collisions managed to see some visible wear and tear. The bonnet and rear bumper had small indentations, and the bonnet also looked slightly ...sort of dirty ish. Hard to describe.

If I was to be cynical I would suggest this little amount of damage they did decide to grace us with was to ensure people were not entitled to their money back on the game. Good job I'm not cynical then.

Why cry about mechanical damage? If it's coming it's coming. I don't see why there's such a big fuss about things. Certain aspects of the game might have to come with an online update. It happened that way with plenty of other games, but GT5 gets hated on because of it? How sad. It's a shame you get on the forums to find information and all you see is whinging about this or that. It's pretty pathetic. Take that to the EMO thread. I've said before this thread is about damage being implemented further at a later date. But here we have people that like to throw insults at eachother because of some feature that's yet to be finished on the game. Come on now, like I said before, cut GT some slack.

The other point of view is that it is threads like this that PD are reading and helping them prioritise the changes they will make and work out what the GT community wants. If threads like this don't exist or only one or two people post in them how would PD know that this is an important issue?

I'd also say that there is a growing number of people who are beginning to adopt the "we will believe it when we see it" approach. My impression of Kaz from the interviews I have read is that he would have no trouble getting a job as a politician.

Being an avid GT player (I've played all and owned GT 2 through GT5) I think that PD really dropped the ball on one of the primary aspects of the game that they clearly advertised on their website, Damage!

Since GT's inception a major beef from many enthusiasts was the missing component of Realistic damage, that not only cosmetically affected the car, but mechanically as well. PD Boasts this great new addition but I had a heck of a time producing damage Mechanical or Cosmetic when I got the game. It might not be so bad if the Complete damage system was actually explained in some form of manual or public statement.

I find it simply annoying that I have to scour the internet to decipher a basic feature in my game.

and even after all the posts and google's I still have yet to receive a clear answer on how the damage system is being implemented and how it affects other things in the game.

I have just Now started to see damage (LvL 14) but on standard vehicles I can plow a wall @ 140MPH and I get a hanging bumper and some black scuffs.

I did notice the Premium cars do tend to respond as advertised with ( as PD puts it "Separation/Dislocation of Body Panels" )

Overall I give the game 8.5/10 because in reality the only other thing it lacks is a good UI. Who ever was in charge of the Navigation/Menu system should be fired. I could cobble a better UI up in a Crappy windows Form.

So I was messing around drifting with my Camaro SS and in the replay I noticed I banged it up pretty bad.

Dumb question but: does this mean I have to get the body 'fixed' or? Not sure yet what this damage stuff really means. Do we have to be really careful with our cars now? ;)
