the difference in Silvias

I need help. I cant find the nissan 240sx in GT4. Where I can find this car?

Used car lot.. early 90s lot for the hatchback, and late 90s lot for the S14 mk2. In the PAL version they're called 200SX but I think all of them have the same spec in-game (180SX spec)

I also cannot find the 240sx. 200sx and 240sx are different cars, it doesn't depend to the pal or ntsc version. The specs are almost the same, but 240sx is better at drifting

To think this would be about the GT4 silvia series or the 180sx.

Okay, Im friends with sidewayzinca. Ive been into to drifting for 6 years, have had two 240's and a corolla. He sends me links to this website all the time showing me how much WRONG information is going around. Im tired of it, so i registered. i dont have a ps2, and played the game twice.

Okay, There is no such car as a sil-80. This was made in the mid 90's by a company called kidsheart. It was no different, just the silvia front body panels, and some small upgrades by kidsheart and nismo.

The s13 came as a coupe and a fastback. The fastback or 180sx, came with a ca18det in 89-90. The 180 came from the ca(18). In 91 it got the redtop SR. IT was made until 98.

The Silvia never had the RB. Only the SR. In the US it had the KA24 series motors, 89-90 gbeing the shoc, 91-94 DOHC. We only got popup lights, in japan the siliva had fixed.

The sr20det came with a 6-spd in ALL S15 models, minus autos.

No such thing as rb24, and NO turbos in the US 240sx. Any questions, ask me, ill clear up most of the BS here.

Oh, no PERFECT engine for drifting. Its all driver. You dont need power to drift, i perfer my mild tunded KA24DE to SR20.

Nice info but some people around here prefer the SR than the KA.

wiki about the Rb24S
This is a relatively unknown engine, as it was not produced for the Japanese domestic market. These were fitted to some left hand drive Nissan Cefiros exported from Japan new. Mechanically it is made from an RB30E head, RB25DE/DET block and RB20DE/DET crank with 34 mm height pistons. This engine used carburretors instead of the Nissan ECCS fuel injection system. This has the outcome of it being able to rev harder than the RB25DE/DET (as it has the same stroke as the RB20DE/DET) as well as being almost the same displacment as the RB25DE/DET. A common modification is to fit a twin cam head from other RB series motors while retaining the carburreted set-up. The standard single cam form produced 141 PS @ 5000 rpm and 20.1 kgf·m (197 N·m) of torque @ 4400 rpm

wiki on sileighty
The Sileighty (also written as Sil80) originated through early street racers in Japan who owned Nissan 180SXs with damaged front ends. Because the Silvia's front panels and lights were lighter and cheaper than the 180SX replacement parts, many drifters used these parts instead. Unknown to the public until the release date, these end user modifications inspired a Japanese auto shop, Kids Heart to produce a small number of so called "official" or "real" Nissan Sileighties. It is on record that 500 cars were made by this shop, and were only sold in 1998, possibly through Nissan dealerships.[1] Essentially the kouki (late model) 180SX Type-X tuned for drifting, the cars are distinguished from their home-built brethren by the distinctive "Sileighty" name on the rear dressplate and quarter windows. The Sileighty includes drift-oriented modifications such as a new ECU, a stiffer suspension system, an improved limited slip differential, and an increase in turbocharger boost from 7 psi to about 13 psi, resulting in approximately 230 horsepower, versus 205 from the standard 180SX's SR20DET.[2]

there is no 240sx in the game. just 180's, silvias, and sileighties.
the 180sx, 200sx, and 240sx are all the same chassis(minus the rhd/lhd difference) with different engines, but for the most part the transmissions are very close to matching each other. some gear rations are different, but you can put any combo of s chassis trans on whatever as long as you swap the bellhousing thats made for the engine your swapping it to. and all S chassis cars can share all body parts(hatch to hatch and coupe to coupe...duh), all glass, everything.
older 180's came with ca18det, 200sx came with sr20det and 240sx came with ka24d/e for zenki and chuki models respectively.
if gt4 did had a 240sx, im sure the sr powered S chassis cars would be faster/better anyways because i dont think gt4 would allow the hp on the ka to get anything decent from it.

Take a look in the Used Car Lot II and what do you find? A '96 fastback S13 240 and a '96 S14 240. Now, any real Nissan enthusiast will note, S13 240SX's were not sold in North America after '94. The taillights on the S13 in the game are not USDM taillights, they are JDM. As with the rear spoiler. The USDM S14 240SX's didn't come with that front end until '97 and '98. The engines' displacement in the two cars imply that the SR is in them. Now, why PD made these obvious mistakes is beyond me, but it doesn't matter. The 240 is both in, and not in the game, depending on your perspective.

The RB24 did exsist, and was a bastard of an engine.

On another note: I think it's obvious that the bigger displacement engine would win. After all, if you do a budget boost on a KA using the stock SR parts(they just swap right over) you end up with more power and (alot) more torque than the SR. Sure the SR can rev higher, but the heads tend to explode too. However, my two 300zx's can cream both so this is just a fun debate.

In my GT4 I dont find no nossan 240sx I find only 200sx and 200sx(S14).
Have I the same GT4 like all of you.

I believe you have pal version and not ntsc in which the car names are different ....but thas all...its the same car

Pal version(Gt4 sold in countries other then North America)= 200sx

NTSC version(Gt4 sold in North America) =240sx

in other words....200sx=240sx

That's what I was trying to say all along.... There IS no 240SX in the PAL version. The same car is there, but it's called 200SX in our version of the game.

This is NOT real life, in GT4 they are the SAME car..no difference inside. Polyphony just didn't bother to change it, they just changed the names to reflect what was offered in the various domestic markets (240SX->UDSM, 200SX->EUDM, 180SX->JDM).

the sileghty is just the jdm version of the rps13 or some say 180sx all it have is just a s13 front conversion trust me im a nissan silvia drifter too and a enthusiest and the 1989 version have a sr20det redtop

and different gear ratio as well as suspension feel....well thas what I found.

The "real" Sileighty was a limited series tuner car from "Kids Heart" in 1998. It was chipped, had increased boost, stiffer suspension and tougher LSD. However, it doesn't have any more HP than the standard silvia/SX in game afaik (should have about 230-240 I think)...

It WAS a real car, not just an SX with S13 headlights... I don't think all those changes are in the game, I suspect poly has been a bit lazy here :p

Edit: I checked the game, and the sileighty is not any different from the 200sx (don't argue with me!!! lol) in gt4... so here's the recipe to turn your sileighty into a proper one:
- chip
- stage 1 turbo
- sports suspension (I doubt they changed this if they didn't change the engine)
- 2-way LSD (or 1.5-way, i don't know the details... i suspect 2-way, also see above)
