216 hour later it become clear why I haven't played GT5 since November, have only used my TH8RS shifter twice and am yet to try the T500RS Ferrari rim I got for xmas.

Approaching lvl 75 and just created what is probably my final set of armor which means my stats won't get much higher than this...

99% Magic Resistance
0 cost Destruction Spells
1813 AC
572 HP
300 Stamina
230 Magic
500 Carry
500 Sword Damage (Each)
47% Sneak
47% Lock Picking

Essentially, I'm invulnerable and can kill an ancient dragon in seconds.

'tis a good game.

Great, now I'm stuck in the Alduin's Bane mission without the proper equipment :grumpy: Didn't think the the battle would be this hard, maybe I'm just not strong enough because I don't seem to do any damage whatsoever. Tried to reload an autosave but it keeps starting the battle and my last manual save was a few hours ago.

On the wikipage it says to use dragonbane but I don't have that on me, any helpful tips?

You must use the shout Dragonrend a lot in this battle so you can reach Alduin. However he has a huge health pool so it will take some time and some checkpoint saves to defeat him. For me I attacked him from behind and at the sides, but he is still able to deal quite some damage onto you. He also stays down only for a short time. You can try Chaining the shout once he flies away so it can give more time to deal damage (the shout itself recharges very quickly).

Also you can hid yourself from those fireballs by going up in the mound nearby. There's even a summit that you can stay so Alduin can get close enough to use Dragonrend. Make sure you have some healing spells, as those will be immensely useful. Even if you have the slow-healing one just find somewhere to stay low and heal yourself. A companion helps as well.

Double-wielding causes a bit more damage plus some Destruction spells. Alduin seems to have no weaknesses to spells so you'll just have to cause as much damage as possible in one go. Though Lightning spells, if strong enough, are able to stun-lock him. Unfortunately it wasn't strong enough for me at the time.

You don't have to use Dragonbane in this battle. It just causes extra damage. I just used enchanted swords to defeat him. And as a reiteration, make sure you save often. And yes, you can save while battling Alduin, so these serve as checkpoints if you ever accidentally die.

This is exactly why I quit playing this game a month ago. 👎

I was level 53 when I quit. I was a dark elf and used destruction, bow, and a dagger. I didn't carry any other weapons (except the ones I picked up to sell), and didn't max out my weapons. Playing on "master" difficulty, the game was so ridiculously easy that it was a waste of time.

I'm sure the kids enjoy this "extreme armor and weapons" stats, but it ruins the game. At least Oblivion had some enemies that could still give you a fight, even at the higher levels. I don't understand how playing a game with absolutely no challenge could be fun. 👎

So it's normal that his healthbar doesn't move the slightest for about 15 minutes?

Edit: this is weird, restarted and did it in 5 minutes with my bow

I seem to recall after 200 hours in oblivion I had 100% magic res and 70% weapons reflection.

After reading that the max effective AC in skyrim is 569 I've changed my enchantments to reduce my AC and get free destruction and conjuration spells (using falmer helmet and circlet)

What seems more unbalanced to me is being able to kill an ancient dragon in two power hits (about a second)

I've just completed all the achievements, so by next weekend I might be able to tear myself away and play some gt. (assuming no skyrim dlc is released)

Isn't the no challenge the reward for the previous efforts?

Yup. That is why you have to deal a lot of damage in one go.

Sounds like someone's trying to frame you for her murder?

yeah there are a few glitches like that. If you get married and you have had companions die, they will "drop in" on the ceremony as well. Funny stuff.

I'm starting to get high enough rank to be finding some nice items. I've found some glass armor and a piece of ebony armor among other things.

Is Elven armor of the eminent squire a rare piece?

WOW!

I'm still level 10. :dopey:

But the addiction kicked in again yesterday and that will be what I'll play this week.

Just did the Dark Brotherhood quest to kill the emperor. Mighty fun quest line. Basically took revenge on all of the Agents. I found some enchanted Dark Brotherhood Apparel to raid the ship. Used The Blade of Woe and an Elvish Dagger. Rode Shadowmere up to the shore, then raided the ship, sneaking around and killing everyone inside. Then I took the mountain ridge just so I could snip Commander Moro with the Dwarven Bow. After that I fled on Shadowmere. So much stuff to do, so much stuff to do...

The game is as challenging as you make it. If you need a challenge, stop using enchanted armor.

I am very addicted to this game tbh. I read a lot of bad stuff about the game before I bought it for the PS3, about how lag could ruin your game experience, make it unplayable etc etc. I've spent 67 hours on my first character, a lv 38 Khajiit archer, and it's been a blast and only a few minor problems. Definately won't regret buying this game at all, it's brilliant.
I've got a couple of other characters as well, and no matter how you play the game, it's fun. If it's ranged, magic or melee characters... wow.

I've been starting an experiment. Using bound weapons. I've got a Conjuration / One-handed / Heavy armor / Enchanting Imperial character, and it's very effective. The bound weapons have the power of Daedric weapons and with soul trap, if you have all the perks. Conjuration increases very, very fast and with the soul trapping bound weapons, you have an easy time levelling up Enchanting too.

I love this game, i havent got very far though. Ive got to the point where i need to start killing dragons but im just not skilled enough :(
I cant even kill an apprentice mage!

I am currently fighting a dead dragon. I quick traveled to a dragon area looking for an item. Soon as I get there the dragon lands, burns and I absorb the soul. It then takes off as a pile of bones as if nothing had happened.

Is there anyway to bring back a dead Lydia to life? I guess I could could keep hitting her with the Staff of Zombies.. Or just drag her back to the house, and wait to find a spell? (wow... that sounded way creepy)

I think the master conjuration spell Dead Thrall could make her come alive again permanently, but I think there's a bug that would mean that there would be two Lydias if you do this. Idk if that's good or bad :D
You would need at least lv 90 conjuration though and a s*** load of magicka.

 Would have loved to see that happening here.

Do it! I've heard people talk about skeletal dragons attacking them (not just the ones that are raised from the dead by alduin) but I've never seen it.

so I'm almost ready to create my end game armor at level 55 I've got 100 smithing 100 enchanting and 91 alchemy, I know those last 9 levels of alchemy are going to be rough though.

they're a right pain in the proverbial. Make sure you make three ingredients multiuse potions as they level you quicker, but you'll be doing a tour or two of all the apocetharys.

It won't be your last armour at level 55, but close. Have you levelled the armour you've not specialised in? If not you'll need a set of that. Are all your magic skills at 100? You'll prob need free spells to get from 90-100 so that means armour for those. And remember you don't need more than 576 AC. You should be able to get to this whilst wearing a falmer helmet which allows you to wear a circlet too.

not interested in getting my magic skills too much higher than they are, at least on this playthrough. Also going to have a mixed set so it will level both sides (albeit much more slowly) which is how I've roughly been doing it anyways. I did realize there are several free free skill boost quests I have yet to take so that will push me to 98 I think, then I'll be clearing out a few vendors to finish it off. I have a stockpile of falmer helmets and chitin though for different enchantments I'll be making :)

Man i'm not even close to being halfway done with the game and i have a little over 70 hours in and i'm right now at level 55.

I'm right now doing the Thieves Guild quest line, then after that doing the Dark Brotherhood Quest lines.

I'm playing as a High Elf.I was going to go strictly with magic, but decided to become a Battle-Mage instead. It's working out pretty good so far.

My main things i have in skills are all at 100 and that is Smithing,Enchanting,Speech,Pickpocket and Sneaking.I figured since i would be doing the Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood Questline,I would go out and get Speech,Pickpocketing and Sneaking to 100.I just finished my Pickpocket this morning. :)

I'm on a PS3.

did I read earlier that after you update you have to be online to play? I'm on PC and have not done any updates

Why would you not have done any updates, I'd rather kill myself than play an un-patched Bethsoft game :odd:

I play this game on the 360 and I stopped playing it weeks ago because of freezing during fast traveling and glitched quests. I'm not really in a hurry to get back to the game because I have over 200 hours invested in it already

I've has a couple of 2 hour plus runs freeze solidly on me this week on the PS3 version. Me not like that very much. :banghead:
