That Lotus 97T is absolutely magnificent. After you go through a curve you don't have time to think about the next one because you're already there. I am surprised how short the spaces between Monza's curves are.

Plus, aside from the fact that its RPM seem to be a bit too high, they absolutely NAILED its sound. Compare this:

And these:
(not the best quality but it's pretty much a flat-out aceleration)

Maybe I think its RPMs are a bit too low because nobody fully accelerates in the shown videos, but it doesn't matter. Overall I'd give PD 10/10 for their work on the Senna tribute 👍

The content is good, but it could be better. I really like the effort that they put into providing us with the different aero packages the Lotus had throughout the 89 season, but a little bit of guidance as to what parts go together and at which races they were used at would go a long way!

Also, I'm slightly disappointed at the execution of the '1985' versions of Brands and Monza. I really enjoy the new layout, but I expected new (old) buildings to be modeled, as well as vintage sponsorship etc. Even the old runoff areas aren't correctly modeled through Paddock Hill bend, which used to be iconic..

On a whole though, it's great. I really enjoyed the time trials and the slideshows in between, obviously a lot of effort has been put into them, just a shame it wasn't released 3/4 weeks ago, because that would've been really, really special.

Sadly I'm not home to experience this content. I'm so excited to try it! does anyone have pics of the different aero options for the 97T?

They're not too significant, but it's nice to see a bit of customization now and then anyway.

I am loving the Aryton Senna Tribute content. I have not done many laps with the 97T yet but I've been thrashing the WSR F3 and it's huge fun.

Monad 80s is very enjoyable and I panicked on my first attempt as I forgot it was the old layout. Thankfully I managed to keep it on the black stuff.

WSR F3 at Côte d'Azur is a blast too.

My thought about the Senna content:

- The cars are absolutely fantastic and fun to drive. Surprisingly with absolutely great sound.

- While the driving content itself is very short and quickly done, it does have a sense of purpose which is really great. Haven't expected it to have that feel of depth. By far the best part of the GT6 offline mode.

- I am a bit disappointed about the 80's tracks. While I like the layouts the shortcut of planting the old layouts in the modern environment is bugging me. Unlike the rest of the content the tracks feel like a very sloppy job without any thought put into them.

Overall I like the content quite a lot and look forward to use the cars online.

A praise thread? What is this witchcraft?

This made me  so much my co-workers looked at me funny.   The real witchcraft is that it has remained a praise thread, other than the small smattering of complaints about not having old buildings on the old tracks. Personally, I never saw/read anything indicating the tracks would have the old buildings added and I would have never expected them to do that (any other developer, yes. PD, no) so luckily I'm not the least bit disappointed with them. With this company you have to just be happy with what you get and never let your expectations run wild, and I'm quite happy with what we got.

(In the interest of full disclosure, so far with the new content I've only been able to do two laps around 80's Monza, with the F3, in my slippers, so sadly I can't contribute much to this thread.....yet)

The DAP is absolutely bonkers. It goes like, "oooh, I'm understeering, I'm understeering, I'm not gonna make it- NOW I'M SLIDING ON ALL FOUR WHAT THE HELL". It's fun, but takes some time to get used if you're expecting it to handle like a modern kart.

The F3 is like a dog; thrash it around, and it will reward you with puppy love. Out of the three cars, it's the one that feels the more underpowered (but the only realistic competitor for this title is the DAP, because, come on). Throwing away a second per lap around old Brands Hatch until I finally managed a gold proved to be a more rewarding experience than I expected.

And then, there's the Lotus. Which you will likely meet for the first time at Monza. And we're not talking about the modern version of the track, with the sissy 2nd-gear Goodyear chicane, oh no. You'll enter at 350kph the old esses of the Variante del Rettifilo, turbocharged V6 screaming and a cloud of smoke rising from the locked front tires. And you will love it. The first challenge is easy, as you won't be as limited as Senna was by the undeniably human fear of crashing at 300kph. Brands Hatch? Whole different beast. It took me the best part of this afternoon to get a lap only a tenth of a second faster.

I'd say that PD deserves an 11/10 and a round of applause for this update, and the work done on the Senna content.

P.S: I'm yet to check if PD provided the 97T with alternative aero packages. Did they? Please, tell me they did.

I believe they kind of did, there are different wings, winglets and brake ducts that can be added/removed. I'm wondering, does tinkering with these bits eliminate you from competing in a tuning-prohibited room? I'm presuming they do, but it would be nice if they didn't. 👍
