Well it seems like Christmas has come early this year! For those who have been upset about the exp debacle, this new update gives you exp in online races, and seasonal events!!!!!

And if anyone thinks that Kaz doesnt listen to his core audience, then the update is your answer!!!!!!!

Unfortunately the amount of exp you get online is tiny....a few thousand for around 3 minutes of driving? Which barely moves the progress bar when you are at lvl30 and REALLY have to grind.

I blame the leveling system and its silly experience point curve for that.
 
How many Cr. and how much EXP do you get for online races?
 
I'd stop short of crediting the forums with bringing about the change. We have no idea when Polyphony visit the forums, much less what they read.
 
I don't know what game you're playing. Exp. is still horrible.

Try the seasonal events.

Some people says doing them all brings you from lvl 0 to lvl 15.

And let says that the prize cash is also pretty interesting, over 2 millions if you gold all 5 races
 
I got 70,000points for 1st place in the R/T challenge. Not to mention a LOT of money.
 
2mil for 5 races? Nice info.. I'll give it a shot tonight.
After finishing the update, ofcourse..

I just got 170,000 doing two races in the Seasonal Events. That's the same as grinding the American Indy 18 times pre-update, huge improvement.

I think this is a great solution to the problem. The game should be a bit of a grind, it's not supposed to be easy picking up every car in the game, but every so often they'll throw us a bone so we can have a nice little EXP boost. Plus they're not exactly easy (not impossible either) so it gives you something to work at for a while, infinitely more fun than driving around in circles for hours.

With these events we get a boost to our EXP, and it doesn't involve mindless repetition so it won't get dull. I'm already excited about the next set of events :D
 
The updated payouts in A and B Spec come with a mention of being only until the end of January. So it's a band-aid, not a fix.

The seasonal events hand out a nice chunk of XP... but it's essentially a limited-time Special Event, is all. It won't help any of us level by any reasonable amount; it will help people who are just starting off in GT Mode, though.

Depends on the lap count, map, etc.

2 laps on the Nurburgring netted me 12,000c and about 4,000 XP.

It was perfect for me because I was right in the middle of that hole everyone's been getting stuck in... bang in the middle of level 23. All I had on my plate was Indianapolis and I was already bored of it. Just two of the seasonal events shot me straight into 24 so I couldn't be happier :D

What I'm reading is that by that time, they will release a NEW series of special events, and THOSE will get the XP boost. That way new players to the game can't just tram-line all the special events that have been released since launch and get enormous amounts of XP at a much quicker rate than those that have had the game. Just a feeling.

It is a fix since it is for over a month. Who knows what might happen with the XP and money afterwards, they might just give millions of XP per endurance races.

I just checked Monza in the Euro Event (Level 22) and Like the Wind and the XP is still the same.

If it is different, it isn't by more than a few hundred, which isn't even noticable.
 
Seems like gamers in these days have no passion anymore... In GT1,2,3 and 4, we´ve played the hell out of the game...

You all wan´t to reach level 40 3 weeks after release... And then what? Crying about less content and events...

Thank god they made the game not as big as GT4...

By the way,I´m not happy about it that they throwin the xp points and the cash around... This makes the game much too easy now...

Hmm, I think the next "Bonus Race" might replace the current ones, yeah. But I don't think they'll change out the Special Events (Top Gear, AMG, Karting, etc) that we've had since the game came out. All guesses, though... could be interesting if they leave them all available down the road, so you really could just get to an insane level very quickly if you started a new game.

You have a very different definition of "fix" than I do. Something that lasts for a bit more than a month is not doing much for the game in the long-term.
 
I think the big problem is that the game itself is flawed, it really needs more events in the middle stages.

I want the game to last a long time too, but forcing someone to do the same race 100 times to unlock some imaginary next level isn't very realistic. I hope they bring updates with more varied events and tougher requirements.

Completing the euro hot hatch challenge with a Veyron vs all the Golfs and Alfas didn't take much skill at all, but it was funny :)

Intermediate annoyed me enough, I don't really wanna put myself through more of that just yet :D I've now done 4/5 of the Seasonal bonus races though and I'm 2/3rds of the way through 24 already :)

american indy was 98.000 pre update and 117 after 18x98 =1.7 mill.

Too easy to what? You think getting credits and exp was ever challenging? No. It just takes mindless repetition. Getting to level 40 should take skill not a ridiculous amount of time.

I'm happy with the money and exp online though even if the amount is quite small. I will be playing the online portion for years to come so atleast I am getting something.

Actually we both confused ourselves with that. The 170,000 I got from the Special Events was EXP, not credits. I did mistakenly do the sum with the Indy credits though, I can't remember how much EXP it gave you but this way is still a big improvement.

The credits I got for those two events equaled 1,750,000.

A GT that you can't finish in 1-2 weeks isn't necessarily the same as a GT that has more than 1-2 weeks of content.

None wants a GT that can be finished in a week or 2, but even less do they want a GT that can be finished in a week or two but is artificially stretched out with forced repetition.

More doesn't always make it better... in fact in this case it turns a little of something good into a lot of something on average pretty unpleasant.

A fix is something you know remedies the problem for good. A bandaid covers up the problem for a limited amount of time.

As you stated, we have no idea what happens in a few months, which mean this cannot be called a fix. In a few months if they keep it permanent, then it becomes a fix, but for now it's just a band aid.
 
Can you grind the seasonal events over and over again, or is it once you win you dont receive any more points like the special events?
