littlesthobo what level are you? You agreed with Sele19981's post but he finally saw the grind and changed his mind a few posts up.

A-spec 28 B-spec 27 The problem here is you young guys have the wrong attitude....your looking at the game in the wrong way....you all see it as " grinding" I don't see it this way, I play the game not with the mind set that I must grind...I play it to enjoy the driving nothing more nothing less.

You guys seem hell bent on reaching lvl 40...so what will you do when you reach lvl 40? And your bored out your skulls, I'm probably going to annoy a few here but why the hell buy a racing game such as GT5 when all you want to do is tear through it ASAP to hit lvl 40? I really just don't understand this mentality of wanting to rip through the game as fast as possible....whats the point?

The point is to have fun. Somehow, for reasons stated here, GT4 was so much fun, I started it and finished it beginning to end 4 times. At level 29 (almost 30) in GT5, it is so boring, I'm having second thoughts about playing video games at all :nervous:

Seems like gamers in these days have no passion anymore... In GT1,2,3 and 4, we´ve played the hell out of the game...

You all wan´t to reach level 40 3 weeks after release... And then what? Crying about less content and events...

Thank god they made the game not as big as GT4...

By the way,I´m not happy about it that they throwin the xp points and the cash around... This makes the game much too easy now...
You're a retard. Only person I know who wants less game.

This is somewhat true for A-Spec although I don't think Aspec needs as much grinding as we think. If you get all golds in the licenses and challenges (plus the added seasonal and online racing) you shouldn't need to grind if you're a long term player.

Bspec is a totally different story. If you run all the b-spec events without repeating you run into a wall in the enduros where you have to repeat them MANY times. It takes six 24 hour races to go from 35 to 40. When you add in the fact that these races are EASILY won without interaction it's really just PD forcing you to keep your PS3 on for insanely long period for an insane number of days. There's really no purpose for it. Oh, you get no prize for LVL 40 either. LOL

You don't have to grind at all. You are choosing to grind. Just stop doing the Indy race, choose one of the other 50+ races and do that.
That's still grinding.

Buy another car and try some races again.
I'd love to be able to play GT5 like that. In fact, being able to do that is largely the reason that I still log so much time into GT2 to this day. So it is too bad that GT5 takes so many steps, even post update, to actively prevent you from being able to do that.

I found it amusing that one of the things the update was supposed to do was make it easier to earn money to buy the cars needed to get through the game and then they give me events that still require very specific cars. So instead of helping me, I actually had to spend more money to buy 4 cars I didn't have just so that I could enter the new events :dunce:

But you earn a lot more than you need to spend.

Given that you had to use that insult and he didn't it seems that he's significantly less of one than you are.

I just find events that restrict you to one specific car just frustrate me since I have over 150 cars in the garage and PD seems to be determined to keep me from using any of them in anything but Arcade 👎

Granted there are a few "unrestricted" events but not many. I liked the feature built into GT4 whereby the game would match the AI competition to whatever car you chose to use. In GT5, there is always one "rabbit" (more powerful car) that ends up being the only real competition. After you blow by the rest of the AI, you are basically racing one guy. If you choose a less powerful car to match the AI (the opposite of GT4 programming), the "rabbit" leaves you in the dust 👎

Have any of you ever played old school ad&d? It would take almosy a year of playing to go from level 19 to 20.

The game should be a bit of a grind, it's not supposed to be easy picking up every car in the game, but every so often they'll throw us a bone so we can have a nice little EXP boost.

The game should never be a grind, ever. Why not just give us plenty of different events to do. I shouldn't ever have to race the same rtace twice if I don't want to. There are 1000 cars, how could PD not make 1000 different races. I hate the grind. The seasonal events are really nice though and have helped me play the game again. I was stuck because I couldn't get a car I needed for the next races, but the online dealership helped that too.

Really though, there should never be any grinding to be done on any racing game. If I get to a point where I have to race indy over and over I will not play the game anymore. That's not how games are meant to be played. If you had to keep replaying levels in any other game to advance, you simply would stop playing the game. Why is GT5 any different. Why would we expect to have to grind away to complete the game. I wouldn't play level 3 of call of duty 15 times to get to level 4( I hate call of duty by the way just using it for an example), and the same applies to GT5.

they are updating the game every week it seems.give it a little time.i mean they could have just delayed it again until next year.I'm holding on to hope until april that gives them about 6 months.

I disagree. I feel endless events would be emulating an arcade racer rather than real life. Repeating events is closer to a real career, and who said this was a game? I mean, yeah, technically it is, but it's trying to simulate more than that, PD want to simulate life, and life ain't all fun and games. For a lot of games I'd agree with you, but in this case it just seems to go against GT's ethos. Do note however that I'm not talking massive grinds, but enough for us to be playing races more than once, why wouldn't you want to get the most bang for your buck by doing races again? They're not suddenly boring after just one go.

You shouldn't be forced to re-race the same event to proceed in a game. Once you reach level 30 the game becomes a grind, for some it's much sooner. Only you and a couple of others are defending this awful game design. What level are you to be so naive about the leveling system?

How does it go against the GT ethos when this is the first game in the series where this is a problem?

If your getting XP for online races how could it possibley be conceived as "grinding" ? Human oponents, huge selection of tracks, some with day night combinations, over a 1000 cars with multiple if not infinate levels of tuning coupled with the ability to restrict BHP and weight and levels of damage.......It's a racing game, the car collecting and leveling up are just sub games to the main event.

If your level 30+ and your grinding through the most xp rewarding races just to max out at level 40 what happens when you've got to level 40? is that the game complete? I can see it's a challenge but not one that should see players repetertivley competing in the same race over and over with no enjoyment gained from the experience.

There is of course a solution to all this, and one unfortunatly which would make me a figure of hate to the XP hunters out there......PD simply remove the XP limit! There simply is no need to then seek more XP after youve gained enough to enter all the events. Your XP is then simply represents your amount of play and those that want to compete in that then the skys the limit!

I can see the point people are making where there stuck with not enough XP to enter the next set of races but to be honest repeating certain races with a different car or putting some time into online dosn't take long to aquire the XP you need.

Each to there own I supose but I see people complaining that they need to grind in the game and how frustrating it is.......I just can't see why you need to do it in the first place, just stop doing it, take the tablets and go set yourself some challenges.....theres so much in this game that grinding seems to be missing the point in my opinion.

Re-race the same event? What you mean like in an F1 game? Theres only one series in that. I dont understand why people dont want to do some events more than once? I enjoy the dream car championship.

Im lvl 27 and I havent grinded at all, nor have I completed all the races and all the special events. Why is everyone so hellbent on reaching lvl 40 in a few weeks? Do you really want to race on nurburgring for 24 hours that badly? That seems like the last thing you would want to do if completing the same 10 lap race several times is grinding for you.

I really dont care if I ever hit lvl 40. It wont affect my enjoyment of the game whatsoever. I like driving and fine tuning my wide variety of cars. I pick a car that I want to drive and enter it into an appropriate race or race with some friends online. I have absolutely no idea how much exp each race gives me.

american indy is paying 117k on B-spec!!! LOL too easy now. i was happy before with hard money
