Thanks. You're right, the second picture is the better one. It did have some colour, but I didn't like it, so I desaturated most of the pic.

I've been having some trouble getting a good shot in GT4 lately as I've had to use a tiny old TV since my larger TV is being used elsewhere now. Hope to get that resolved as I'm having a hard time telling what's an ok pic when I take it (RCA cables suck compared to component).
 
ooh i love the merc shots...i like the grain on the black and white one...good job!
 
The second shot is amazing,, The B&w and the grain effect makes it unique,, It was my style of editing for a long time,, You can do it a lot better though:)👍
 
Now, it's hard to choose. I like both of the pictures, but ultimately, my vote goes to the second one again, mostly because I appreciate the fact that I can see the car and be able to tell what it is. It also has a nice border.

Thanks guys. In looking at the first picture again this morning, I have to agree with GT4_Rule about the first pic. I thought the profile of the GT would be easily identifiable, but it's not really. The GT40 on the other hand would probably work better in a shot like that.


In other news I picked up a book late yesterday on photoshop to try and learn what each tool does and how to use it effectively. Hopefully we'll see my consistency go up after I get a chance to read it.

Thanks guys. I knew the shot wasn't that original, but I had to do something last night:D I've picked up a few things from the book I purchased that won't make a huge noticable different to my pictures, but does make things easier for me:)
 
the framing on that shot is great, nice and simple but not boring, i really like it. keep em commin man ;)
 
Nice angle and car. The sharpness level is good. Not bad 👍
 
I just noticed the border, and whilst as you say, the shot isn't that original, I really like the idea of that border. Is it just simply the background pixelated?

Yes, it's just pixilated. I duplicated the background, pixilated it, then cut out the shape with the marquee tool and used the stroke commend to add the border.
