How many races do India and China each deserve? 7? 8?

Obviously America deserves a race for each of the lower 48 states :dunce::dopey::sly:. Try not to take things so seriously Sagaris.

And with the issues that India has had especially during last years race and teams bringing their cars into the country, I can see why there is year break. China I'd say would deserve another race if the one they already had was more viewed and popular, but their are only a few tilke-domes that have been popular.

The US has no teams, no drivers in F1 and pulls considerably smaller raw F1 television ratings than Hungary (a country of 10 million, US has 315 million). Why two races? Because the teams and sponsors want more business opportunities/exposure in the US? Sure, but it's the same with China and I don't hear anyone clamoring for a second Chinese race.

What numbers are you running off of? U.S GP past or the current one? This Jersey track was expected to be highly popular like the Austin track.

I also highlight on this thread (not going to do all over again) why the U.S. is to blame for its lack of F1 influence and not the sport.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=286201

Also they both wouldn't have to be on the calender a back and forth would be just as good, hence me saying that is quite awful we don't get Jersey as well. You know how they do the whole Germany thing and Spanish thing and the proposed Spa/France thing. I'm sure you get the idea now.

There's more than 20 countries wanting to host a GP and put moneys in Bernie's pocket. There's no need for any country to have two GPs, and if there was need it should probably go to Italy, Germany or the UK, the homes and breeding grounds of the sport. Two races in the US is akin to having two races in the UAE: all about money and nothing else.

Nevertheless, I'm curious about the New Jersey circuit, so I'd like to see it alternate with Austin, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Once again that was the point I was getting at with "2 GP", it would also be nice to see Mexico on the Calender. If they could put Mexico on the calender and then alternate that Austin race that year to Jersey. Austin and Mexico wouldn't have to fight for people. Even though those are the origins of the sport, it in no way means they deserve another. In all honesty British GP ticket sales haven't been too wonderful and Bernie can see that hence it being one of the older tracks he may get rid of and this is echoed for Spa and the Spanish GPs as well.

I'd implore you to expand on how U.S. and UAE would be the same if one or the other had two races...Oh and just in case you forgot, but the U.S. has a long history that dates back to the beginning of F1. So by your standing the U.S. should get a second GP since it has a lush history in F1 and other International Auto Racing. The only place other than the U.S. I would love to see two race would be Italy but that is personal bias.

I've no issue with two US GPs but I've always thought this NJ race was implausible the day it was announced. If there is going to be a second GP I'm sure it'll end up at a current circuit (Either permanement or street), not there. Or who knows, maybe they'll build another track in a car park in Vegas.

The Ceasers Palace race was a joke. Sometimes I can't believe that they actually ran that race at all! If they did decide to do another Vegas race, they've got to do it properly and have a full street circuit down the strip.

Didn't help that they moved LeMans to the middle of June. Race couldn't occur on the weekend they wanted it to anyways.

I guess because they don't want Le Mans to clash with an F1 race.

Imagine the British version of that. Presenting the Tesco Grand Prix, live from the car park in Blackpool.

There was a ALMS and IndyCar race like that 10 years ago in Washington DC.

It was scheduled as a back to back with Canada. Didn't they want this race prior to Canada? That's the same weekend as LeMans.

I don't recall, fickle mind you know. Nah I think you may be right and I see what you mean now thanks 👍

I see thanks as well Samus 👍

We all know this would be epic:guilty::sly:

Now that I would love to see!

I'm pretty sure Bernie would allow it, if it filled his back pocket enough.

Can just imagine the DRS zone and the pit lane exit where they have to stop at the barrier and get a parking ticket and then buy a sandwich so it's free.

It'd be good for the locals as well, they could hire them to do the tyre changes. Only problem is they're only good at taking wheels off, not so good at putting them back on.

Would they at least provide the cinder blocks for the cars to rest on?

Done. This is a 43 corner circuit that is long enough to be an FIA Grade 1. Everything else definitely wouldn't be FIA Grade 1, but who gives a Smeg!

We got a track

Just to point out, virtually all corners are probably tighter than Loews at Monaco and the average speed of an F1 car would be about -17mph. However, as I said before, Who gives a Smeg!

And when you unleash drivers like Grosjean and Maldonado my word the carnage would push ticket sales through the roof, and the GP2 event wouldn't last more than a lap. You thought Cecotto at Monaco was something, wait till you see him here.

Look at me already promoting this race. Where is Bernie when you need him?:dopey:

GP2 would end up as, "Clean up in aisles 1, 2, 3, 4..." :sly:

I've only gone and found some corner names!

Does anybody know of a GTPer who lives in or near Blackpool? We could get this to go a lot further.

I am so proud of Muller Corner.

Where is the pit straight? Between Tetley's Turn and Utterly Butterly Bend?

TV numbers. When F1 was on Speed, they would average around half a million viewers per race every season. Last year (2012), the average was just under 500k. This year, the numbers are way down on NBCS, Bahrain being a particular low point with only 209k viewers tuning in (a 0.1 rating). However, the Monaco GP on NBC proper pulled in 1.5 million, which is very high for US standards, but barely respectable compared to real F1 markets.

For reference, the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, China and Brazil average 3-6 million viewers per race. Hungary has regularly averaged around 1 million viewers per race, which is excellent for a country of that size.

Sure, the US has hostory with F1, but that's just history, ancient history. No F1 teams, no F1 drivers, poor TV ratings and a complete absence from mainstream US sports media. They weren't talking about the US GP last year on PTI or Around the Horn or anything. F1 has no impact in the US, it's a niche sport, there's little market penetration.

Look at it this way: when you put another GP into Europe, it goes to where the fans are; when you put another GP in places like the UAE or US, it attracts as a novelty, and ultimately becomes a cash grab. I'm not hating on anyone (neither Americans nor Emiratis), but that's how I see it.
