Where I went off you can get back on the track by going through the support race pit lane, but you have to go through a gate. I know this as I did the same thing in 2001 and the gate was open that year. Somebody closed it this time. Next year I’ll make sure it’s open again.

That's not a protest or even a prank, that's just being a straight up asshole to people who don't deserve it. The people counting the money aren't the government. Not liking tax isn't a justifiable reason to pay it in pennies. Tax is a reality, and it always will be. Quit whining and man up.

Of course they're the government. They spent 30 to 60 man-hours counting pennies when one person could have just weighed them after taring the boxes. The time cost saved would have been orders of magnitude greater than the margin of error of a rough count. No sane person would do that, but these people are so unproductive that they did.

Pennies are legal tender. They shouldn't be, of course, because they are nearly worthless, but they are. The government should accept legal tender for taxes. If pennies are a ridiculous form of payment....
