You're not going to make enough money with a part-time job to pay off school debt unless she had a lot of money in the bank beforehand or tuition was stupidly cheap....

I know this because I'm in this situation...I currently owe the government 20 grand, I only have half that amount, and I haven't used 10% of the government loan and grants.

This is why I didn't want to get a student loan. Does Canada have financial aide? I had to pay for my school out of pocket. Everytime I brought home the financial aide papers my parents wouldn't fill it out. THat's why it took me 4 years to get an AS (1.5 years have nothing to do with my degree, so if you want to talk about wasting money that's it there), and my brother 5 years for his BS. But we both paid out of pocket and without student loans.

Somebody in Wyoming is trying to sell theirs for $45. the bike measures 300mm in length, just to get you a sense of scale. Image is hyperlinked, and if it wasn't for the fact it's an action figure, I probably would have nabbed it.

False. My parents did not give her a cent. They can't even afford to pay for college without loans.

She did the loans and paid with her own money made from her part-time job which happens to be minimum wage. When she's done (She's going to go for a 5th year.), she's going to come out of it with basically no debt.

You sound as if it is surprising for someone in college to have a minimum wage part-time job. Pretty normal actually, those that make more than minimum wage while at school are the exceptions. Also, I don't believe she will have near zero debt at graduation unless she was working 30 hours a week. Or is going to community college. But those aren't 4 year schools, so :odd:

Where you are talking about disposable income. Yet you also mention how your family can't afford to put your sister through school without loans.

Sounds like you don't have much disposable income to me, and need to be saving it for University.

I was talking about the American definition. It took on a different definition on its way over here. I'm very well aware at how Otaku are shunned in Japan.

The American definition isn't any better, you realize this? The only people that think it is positive are the ones that are labeled with it. Kind of like hipsters but hipsters don't openly admit to liking it even, because they know its negative. Unless they are being ironic.

Nothing wrong with going to a CC. I lived with my parents while going to CC, but now I have a career in the tech industry at an astronomical observatory 👍.

Oh, I wasn't saying that. Though it is usually good to move onto a 4 year after getting an AA, depending on field of study. Certainly the 4 year degrees hold a bit more weight on younger resumes lacking work experience.

I never been able to get into an FF game despite trying. Minus FF Tactics Advance, and even then only kind of.

Chrono Trigger on the other hand.
