Wonky? Wonky?!

There was rally, hillclimb, endurance, regional championships, divisional manufacturer races. Only GT3 comes close in regards to rally. Everything else GT2 just smacks every other GT around like it's a raggedy bitch. :p

Wonky. How dare you?!

Wonky? Wonky?!

That's not what I mean. I mean the way the requirements work. What's the point of making each race separate in their requirements when they're the part of the same series? And the hp limits are also a bad concept as well - means you can a) take anything you want into the series no matter what car, as long as it's within the limit, b) means you can't actually use everything and c) it isn't even fair all the time anyway! Granted, this isn't anything you need to worry about if you're just playing, but really, it is so flawed.

I do still wish my GT2 GT Mode disc ever actually loaded GT Mode though. :(

GT2 is superior to GT1 in every way. More this more that, more everything.

Car sound videos are indeed the best videos to get distracted by. I could listen to that stuff all day. My only wish is that someone with better recording gear recorded everything on any car they were recording on, from start-up, acceleration (not up to 2nd gear, but take off to like 5th at least), drive-by's (not going 80km/h either)...but personally I'm totally- no, perfectly satisfied with 40 seconds of revving.

Yes, it has more, but they say quality > quantity, and really, while GT1 might not have the most qualities, I find it has very little (I could say none but that would be too big an opinion) flaws and that is what makes it the best for me...

Oh, that. I've nothing to say now.

I can say that now because GT2 is easy to get through now, but when I first played it, let me tell you... the prospect of owning a car with 400-anything horses was a dream. When I first bought the M12 (or was it the W8?) I was so off-the-wall happy. Then I bought the Atlantique (GT really needs to get Venturi back, or Forza, one of 'em) 400GT and it was like... wow.

I've yet to play a GT game that comes close to outdoing the sheer amount of awesome that is GT2.

Once again...dead thread is dead.

Dammit, TC. Goddammit.

What he does best, amirite?

Finished Clannad, grabbed After Story for when I have more time. It is a nice change of pace from what I've usually been watching.

Also, not sure why I still bother reading Bleach. Just more trolling, and more.

Naruto on the other hand is doing well I feel.

Looking forward to the new GC this week as well.

wat?!? GT talk in TGAT??? both GT1 and GT2 are classic, amazing games, no need to put one above the other.

And, I've been too busy playing roguelikes to pay much attention here lately, sorry.
But one thing. Get on the metric system everybody. Srsly, metric means measurement, it's so unified and well defined, just beautiful. Unless you really can't give up your stones, rods, hands, pecks, gills, etc. In which case, the only anime you're allowed to watch is flip-books.

well, flip books = low tech, like the rough measurements of the english system (a foot = well, about a foot whatever the hell that means...) A centimeter on the other hand is defined by atomic units which are not at all variable or debatable. So, modern anime, even cell based, let alone CG and beyond, is more like metric than english/standard. so if you don't want to get comfortable with kg and km, then flip books for you. And come on, Andy, you're from Canada, you should be on the more rational side of this argument.

Oh I'm sorry for disappointing you... stones, rods, hands an a metric system don't make me think of books.....

Really quite curious what brought this whole discussion about.

And find the analogy somewhat flawed since feet, pounds, etc are still used commonly at the professional level in engineering. And they have very clear conversions into metric, which are based on those lovely atomic standards.

Would be like arguing we should all learn Japanese to watch anime because watching it with English subtitles would be like a flip-book. How? Well, it was converted from one standard to another.

you are obviously not an engineer. (yes, I am, chemical, and also a farmer.) engineering, and all science, is much easier with a simple system like metric. much of the rest of the world uses it, I don't understand why we don't. being chemical, another analogy I have is standard/english is like bilogy, metric is like physics/chemistry (ie, messy vs clean.) And yes, I'm also a mathematician and programmer.

So, having said that, I will allow that more artistic types, like AOS-, like the creative room that messiness allows. don't box me in and all that, and that's okay. but it does present a problem in the industry. the scientific method vs the feely/intuitive. imo, from the Latin, dulce et utile, sweet and useful. make the system work for you, don't hate it. metric will make your life easier, even if you're an artist.

 "obviously"

It is pretty clear you are an engineer, and people like you are kind of the reason I dropped out of my ME program after a couple of years. The idea that there is an absolutely best way to handle everything. And wanting to view nearly everything in objective terms instead of subjective.

Yes, metric is a very nice standard to work, being powers of 10 and all that. I honestly use it more than Imperial/Standard because of that reason. But you took what I said and twisted it - I said it, Standard, is used at a professional level in engineering. Slugs, feet, etc are all used in civil and mech engineering projects because that is just the standard that has been around for ages. Is it easier? No, not really. But it is used.

Most Chemical engineers I know don't have to go through the more normal engineering classes, like Dynamics or Mechanics of Materials. Extensive amounts of both courses use Standard alongside Metric. So please get off your high horse for a moment.

We don't use it because it is so heavily built into our society that changing it over would take generations and generations, not to mention a massive cost to signage. It will happen, but it is going to take probably 50 to 100 years longer, where we only have people that were taught both at primary school levels.

But please don't make assumptions about my education or knowledge again. I know, engineers love to do that, and it goes hand in hand with Aspergers, which might explain your less than sociable posting style. Though since you are bragging, what degrees do you hold in those respective fields?

Ha ha, don't worry, I get your side of the story just as well. BS degrees in both(ChemE and Math), and a minor in Spanish. Farming is purely from experience.

I must say, though, coming back from a ban as you are, your commenting on others' "less than sociable" posting styles is funny!

Perhaps a touch, but go over your word choice. I'm not sure if you actively pick certain words but they often develop a back handed tone to many of your posts. It is a trait I've noticed with those that have spent quite a bit of time studying sciences, especially those with very objective goals such as engineering. I feel it comes from the tendency for there to be a "proper" solution to most things in those fields, where as the majority of people don't care as much about such things - they want what "feels" correct.

I can relate, as I use to think that there were generally optimal solutions to everything. But now I tend to feel there aren't any true solutions in the real world, especially when people are involved at some level of the application. Though perhaps my view is a bit off beat due to the years of liberal arts study mixed with engineering and science.

As an interesting aside, I find most engineering focused software, such as Solidworks, to have god awful interfaces and GUIs, while artistic ones seem far more intuitive, such as the Adobe suite. Partly from the logical versus intuitive mindsets in each field I think.

There are two people beside me right now and they are weeaboos. I know this because they are splooging over Japan, Hello Kitty Airplanes and the language. I can carefully say I'm afraid of them... and hope to your god I won't be like one of them.

Imma head home before I get sucked in.
5 Zimbabwean dollars says that they think Evangelion is a person ("Evan Gelion").
Forza's the only thing that comes close. It's beginning to have that special GT-esque quality, but there's still some aspects of GT that I prefer to Forza.
Such as controllable LMPs. And you don't need to buy a subscription to play GT online. Then again, you can't make itashas in GT. :guilty:
My life summed up in one picture. :D
Except that her hair isn't red.

I find it much easier to sit down and play Forza for more than 15 minutes, while GT just generally irritates me profoundly. My real life experience driving tends to translate better in Forza than in GT5, where I am just greeted by idiotic amounts of understeer if I trail brake or a laughable lack of forward acceleration if I start to spin the back tires.

Why still more GT/Forza?!!! Just...Metroid > GT5, OK?! :p

Anyway, I shall interrupt with my latest wallpaper:

You might have noticed that Ryuuko used to be in the background of pictures. She's now climbed out of them and onto the desktop itself. If this keeps up, she'll probably be over the icons soon and maybe, after a while, she might come out of my screen!!!!! :scared: Then decide to live with me. Which'll be...fantastic.

No offense, DK.

You need to delete some of those OEM icons, boy. Just makin' a mess of everythin'

No, srsly, delete them. All of them. Now.

And C-ZETA, get Rainmeter.

Screw your girl-out-of-the-monitor fantasies, Sayaka was together with me to begin with.

I love you.

Yes homo or no homo?

I just read a really disturbing Eva fanfic. I'm not going to link it, because that would probably violate the AUP.
"Poor choice of words."

As long as you're not talking about Other M. That POS isn't better than anything.

Amen to that.

And yeah, whoever suggested Rainmeter, that is a good idea as well. But honestly, the OEM icons just make me think its an old person's computer that simply doesn't know better.

Cool kids know better, amirite?

:3 Bit late though, innit? :irked:

But yeah, the tunes in the original + Zero Mission, and Super Metroid, are awesome. And Fusion is cool too.

Cool kids know better, amirite?

Blame Packard Bell and PC World for that then...you have a good point though.

Ohhh, so Rainmeter is that program I keep seeing on the desktops thread, aaaaaaaah ;)
