Currently re-Watching -> Ruruoni Kenshin ep.1

Question -> Before I get lost in the series, what is the proper timeline in this series? Thanks!
You mean how the OVA's fit with the TV series?

Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal>Rurouni Kenshin>Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-Hen (Remake of the Kyoto arc)>Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection

And I have no idea where the movie goes, but I know for sure it's before Reflection.
^ Systematically mind you! ;)

-> Is there something (very) wrong watching Kenshin's story?
Cano just can't handle the odd humor the TV series has. The TV series is way different from Reflection and T&B as those two OVA's are all serious and no humor, while the TV series mixes both humor and seriousness together.
-> Way, wha!? Only Madoka ep.1 available on Crackle!?

-> Might head out for a Ramen meal. SAHHHWEEETTTT!!!!!! :D
Yes, Aniplex USA is having Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Crackle add only one subbed episode per week. Though they'll have episode 12 up before the third and final single comes out in June.
---------------
Guilty Crown 17
Shu breaks down immediately after the revived Gai cuts off part of his right arm, and in turn, taking away the King's Power from him.

Also they NOW finally decide to eliminate everyone by bombing from the air?
And the show has now gone down to a 7/10 show. To think it was a 9/10 show for me in the beginning, such a shame. The chances of this being a trainwreck come episodes 20-22 could be high.

Man, I can't wait for Fate/Zero to arrive. Release date, why must you be 3 weeks away?!!:ouch:

Oh Canto, he missed it! *overreacts*

Tease that supposed illustration... I can't digital draw for beans... I can draw to save my life, but I just suck gelbanas with tablets. Pros make it look so easy too.

I'm still waiting for my Madoka and my Kouki tail lights... but my parents want to fly me home next week for my birthday, so I can't pick it up until March 2nd :grumpy:

Well that sucks, the Madoka Magica LE looks really beautiful.

I'm not entirely sure what you're arguing against here: Shu's arm has been severed, how were you expecting him to act?

And the bombing premise has been in the works since this arc began

So, in the beginning when it lackluster (compared to the events now) it was a 9 for you. Now that there's all kinds of development in every direction it's a 7? Wha?

W...ww-w..wait... I.. don't... what? Know, huh?! HOW?!

I can understand you lowering the score after ep 1, because those episodes were pretty much a train wreck. Now it's getting good and you act like it's getting worse. What?!

Aaaaand he's gone.

I think we should start counting how many people Loli scared off
I don't mean to! :(

Awww, who am I fooling? It's so much fun!

It was around episode 7 that 9 dropped down to an 8.

That reminds me, I still need to watch episode 5. Gah, I'm getting so far behind in my schedule, and I have to go up to Brainerd Saturday morning which means, that crappy internet that costs a 🤬 ton of money to watch even a 1:30 YouTube video. So no way of me catching up.

Well I'll be bringing up Clannad After Story, so I can at least try to resume that. It's been a week since I marathoned disc 1 (Contains episodes 1-6) of Clannad After Story: Collection 1.

I do have to agree with TC that GC has some weird developments. For example:

The "control station" for the wall and robots were inside the perimeter? So you lock someone in a cell and keep the key inside it? Lolwut? Sure the tower was protected but what the hell, that's just stupid.

It wasn't the first time they came up with some weird thing to force the story to move forward. It seems the story isn't very well thought out and they make it up as they go. Well, the less important details at the very least.

I forgot about that one. Yeah, it makes next to no sense. You don't have that inside the perimeter, you keep it outside. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to have the thing controlling everything be in Tokyo Tower, instead of maybe somewhere in or on top of the wall where not even Shu could get there?

GC has action, but so much stuff was being tossed around this episode. I don't even know who the antagonist is anymore.

Yummy faces:

Isn't it obvious, it's always been GHQ (Is that what it's called again?).

Honestly, I have no problem with someone scoring GC a 7. 'cause that's my score for it too. My problem is that this episode caused it to lose a point, which doesn't brain with my logic.

I do agree that development is a little weird, but it's certainly entertaining.

Just finished Arrietty. Ehhh, it was pretty good. I enjoyed how everything was, but I felt that it lacked an overall purpose unlike other Ghibli films. Which isn't to say that the story was weak, but the ending definitely was. I was pretty disappointed with Ponyo too.

BRS3
WTF is happening? Saya's harvesting clones of Koha who in reality is very timid as seen by those dolls who were hatched by BGS. I don't know wtf BGS/Saya are planning exactly, I almost feel like she's brainwashing every person who has their alter-egos to win some senseless battle in Checkerboard land.

Then to make things worse, BRS come in and decapitates one of BGS' dolls, and like that Koha is down for the count. Wtf are you doing, Ma- oh wait! Maybe Mato deep down is sick of Koha's orders and killing off the doll was an illustration of Mato's true feelings.

P.S. When BGS was watering the deadland I thought she was actually a good-hearted character.

This is my speculation:
I would say the doll represents who Kohata is and her status in the other World.
When we see BGS hatch a bunch of clones, this is the moment where Saya gains control Kohata. Somehow if Saya succeeds at this, the victim is given existence in the other world, but if they don't have an Other Self, they are placed in the body of dolls, frail as flies. I'm guessing BGS is trying to create an army to take out BRS/Mato as that was and still is the goal in the other world; to defeat everyone. Saya is only picking off Mato's friends first so there won't be any alliances formed against her. Remember in the OVA that BGS wins, but BRS manages to survive? Maybe she just really wants BRS dead.

I'm guessing she hasn't figured out that Yuu is the remaining opponent, and I''m also guessing Strength will hop in the last minute to save BRS' ass when she's getting it handed to her and thus forming an alliance with the chance of DM joining up as well.

I'ma watch BRS 3 when I wake up, so tired. I guess I'll also marathon Nichijou and Cowboy Bebop, if I feel like it.

Woo, long weekend.

Started on Excel Saga...Pretty funny, so far. For those who don't know, Excel Saga pretty much just spends the entire time making fun of itself.

Heck in the first episode the main character kills the manga artist twice.

Rikdo Koshi, the artist of the manga, actually says in the opening that if his manga is ever animated, he doesn't care what the animators do to it.

The only issue I have is the chick in the dubbed version will probably get REALLY annoying after a few episodes, but...hey...So did Kagome in Inuyasha. (she is such a whiny little brat...granted the American version is a lot better, but...she still complains a lot.)

You just started one awesome anime. I finished it back in like October, or was it November? It definitely was very good, 9/10. You have a lot more hilarity to look forward to.

BTW, the manga finally finished last year. The anime, it as I heard never properly adapted the manga.

Gah, only 26 left of the Blu-ray first press edition of Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-Hen Part 1. Once it sells out, all I would get is just that slipcover, the digipak, and none of the goodies that the Kenshin fan in me needs.:(

Guess I'll have to try getting that much sooner, meaning this would be my first import that isn't something Aniplex USA brought over (Though it would be my third import technically.).
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=ANSX-3938
The DVD has around 30 left for the first press.

I wonder if Amazon Japan still has the first press edition in stock still.

It doesn't.

After you finish Excel Saga, you must watch Puni Puni Poemy. Best 2 episode anime in the known universe.

Wait, are you talking about that obscure anime packed with it, Kekko Kamen?
http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=2525

Looking around, seems most people think it's pretty bad. No wonder it got packed with Puni Puni Poemy. The only way they'd actually get that thing to sell, packing it with a popular, well-liked anime.

First review mentions absurdity - both Excel Saga and PPP are incredibly absurd, thus, I'm intrigued.

And it's only 4 episodes.

Nice set. 👍

Can it be used as a monitor?

Marcus, you're still here? *waves*

I see my future self is still here as well. *waves*

Currently Watching -> Slam Dunk ep.7

And Madoka is epic.
^ I might have to agree with you. Madoka is very good, it might not be easy swallow for the very casual (anime) fan. ;)

Haven't watched anime in awhile. I might get back in it.
-> Welcome to the crew...although I'm not an "honorary member" in TGAT... :indiff:

Give us a run down of your tastes and allow us to belittle you recommend you shows accordingly.
^ You should've just said:

"Hi! I'm Loli! WELCOME TO TGAT!!!! Nice to meet you! Have fun in here!"

:indiff:

Mister, please don't scare off our guests

jkjk
^ Loli is becoming such a bully, tsk tsk. He doesn't wait to interfere he own little world...even from me. :(

Aaaaand he's gone.

I think we should start counting how many people Loli scared off
^ I think we should do that...

13 people, only 5 are posting.
^ Am I included?

You mean how the OVA's fit with the TV series?

- Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal
- Rurouni Kenshin TV
- Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-Hen (Remake of the Kyoto arc)
- Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection

And I have no idea where the movie goes, but I know for sure it's before Reflection.

^ Oh I see, the difference is Crackle can be watched on my 56 in. HDTV (on my XB360). I havent tried Crunchyroll yet (on my PS3) or a while now.

I'm still waiting for my Madoka and my Kouki tail lights... but my parents want to fly me home next week for my birthday, so I can't pick it up until March 2nd :grumpy:
^ Aw...I know how it feels. :indiff:

Well I'll be bringing up Clannad After Story, so I can at least try to resume that. It's been a week since I marathoned disc 1 (Contains episodes 1-6) of Clannad After Story: Collection 1.
^ If the guy are telling me to watch TTGL. Then I tell you to watch Clannad! NOW!!!

:D Get one in with a Mitsubishi Evo X, right now.
^ The only anime with an Evo story would be Initial D. :boggled:

^ Excell is pwetty crazy, I've watch the whole thing (makes me want to watch Poemy). I say, if you're a deep anime fan...you should watch it because of so many WTF factor.

The only issue I have is the chick in the dubbed version will probably get REALLY annoying after a few episodes, but...hey...So did Kagome in Inuyasha. (she is such a whiny little brat...granted the American version is a lot better, but...she still complains a lot.)
^ I should say, Ocean Group did a very good job on dubbing Inu Yasha almost on par with ADV (RIP). :)

^ so you call yourself a "casual" anime fan eh... Eventually you'll ditch that first impression as you complete all 13 episodes ;)

And don't feel bad about yourself  Loli's a good bro. Just try to fit in and get along with us :p Hell I'm the I'm the only Visayan guy in GTP standing and why do I care

Up to episode 9 of Wangan Midnight. I regret not completing that long ago.
