I personally prefer the original over Kai purely because of my love of the Faulconer soundtrack. Kai may be better for the most part (not entirely, because there is some stuff about it that I don't like in comparison), but I just can't let that soundtrack go.

(feels good to have a flimsy pretext to talk about DBZ again)

Shame the Dragon Boxes never had the Bruce Faulconer score. That's the one con other than them being limited they have.

The only way to watch all of DBZ with that score really is by buying the crappy Season Sets.

What about Kai do you dislike?

It's closer in relation to the manga, and it rids of all of the unnecessary filler. Which is, by my random approximation, 66% of the entire original series.

One thing I hate about Kai (the dub, anyway) is Gohan's new VA. Totally and completely messed up his SSJ2 ascension, and they messed up the scene itself. Again. Why is he talking to himself? That makes no sense.

Surprised you didn't bring up the absence of the Buu saga T-12. That's one thing people don't like.

Nice how since FUNimation suspended BD production, people may never see the Buu saga in HD.

Woot, 1963 Astro Boy after Trigun...

I'll finally have something from the 1960's on my MAL. BTW, it be in black and white.

The problem with that is it originally ended with the Cell Saga by way of the manga, hell to be outright technical, it ended way back in the Saiyan Saga, but they kept pushing Toriyama to do more and more.

And then came GT. Which I'm sure he's using as a coaster of some sort.

But everyone LOVED Dragon Ball GT. It ranks 1st on every site!

Oh wait, wrong universe, nevermind...

Even you can succumb to moe

But it wasn't the moe, it was more like the brother's relatonship and how she is absolutely a 🤬... and well, the comedy about all the anime scene and all that crap. I dunno, I still find it pretty weird how much I've liked it.

ah, and let's not forget the graphics. Yup.

But you didn't like Haganai, right? Same animation company and similar themes.

DBGT isn't even done by Toriyama right? Or so I've heard.
It's basically a cash-in from Toei Animation. GT doesn't exist in the manga.

Finding people who like Dragon Ball GT (Note I neither like nor hate it, haven't seen enough) is probably significantly harder than finding people who liked Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection, an OVA that gets plenty of hate from avid fans of the series (I personally liked it).

DBGT is the devil, and as such, needs to be thrown out into space. Where it will burst into flames.

Because, functionally, it doesn't make any goddamn sense.

Eek. Nah, I wouldn't watch that, really. I hate school shows, I hate teen shows and I hate sentimentally overflowed shows. I'll pass.

EDIT:

Also:

WAT.

Only delinquents dye their hair in Japan, apparently.

Since you don't intend to watch it, I'll leave you with this video of the glasses-pervert, Rika.

Gigantor? Are they seriously putting Gigantor on after Astroy Boy 1963?
http://myanimelist.net/anime/2686/Tetsujin_28-go

Still hoping they put Rurouni Kenshin on, and maybe, just maybe One Piece.
Trigun on; didn't expect them to run an episode so far into the series.
Well they did air late episodes of YuYu Hakusho (Three Kings arc), and Outlaw Star (I think it was 25).

Yeah, but this is one of those "oh my" big deal late episodes. Honestly hope people that haven't seen the series at all don't watch it, just that big of deal in my opinion.

Wow. They really are pulling out all the stops on the 'Nostalgia Train', aren't they?

Just did an old-school game review.
