Personally, it's Hanasaku Iroha and Kids on the Slope... if you're willing to expand to drama, I'd watch Bakuman because it's got quite a similar appearance to Space Brothers.

I really need to rewatch the show sometime. That second season was just absolutely epic. It's one of the best anime sequels I've ever seen, period.
