You're a difficult case Cano. I mean every show is worth a shot.

Oh no dude. That's what you'll learn after trying piece of trash after piece of trash. You just reach a moment when you just don't bother, but you make fun of it all. Angel Beats for example, the name alone is lol.

Yeah. That's how I felt after watching just about anything you guys recommend here to be honest.

That's right. Bring on the fire.

Usually, I think something is **** if I think it's bettered by something else...but others don't see it that way. Either that, or anything that's just done plain wrong.

Just because something isn't the best in its field doesn't mean it's poop, it just means that it isn't the best. For example, Super Mario Bros. 3 is better than the original, but that doesn't mean the original is feces. The Ford Fiesta is better than the VW Scirocco, but that doesn't mean the Scirocco is caca. Sailor Moon is not better than Nanoha, but that doesn't mean Sailor Moon is a turd.

The New York Me.... er, the Chicago Cu.... y'know, I think I'll skip this example.

I'll agree with the second part, though:

Typically I'm going to like the better one more though.
Actually, that's wrong. A game doesn't necessarily have to be better. Just more...soulful. That's how stuff wins my heart.

This guy did. Not the Bluray version, but the DVD version will work.

I know you purists won't like me doing this...

Hmmm, as much as I'd like to disagree, I can't help but feel the same way. For example, I love Half Life 1, excellent game and a milestone in FPS gaming. However, when the fan remake Black Mesa was (finally) released, I found so much more to enjoy in that, simply because it had the same feel but with more depth, detail and polish. It has now replaced HL1 in every way for me, which is both kinda sad and really excellent at the same time.

However, Halo 2 being excellent still doesn't stop me enjoying Halo 1, and nor does World at War override my enjoyment of Modern Warfare 1. While one may tell their story better than the other, each tells a different story that I personally enjoy.

Such is my way with Anime. Sure, Kill la Kill was my first Anime, and it was tonnes of fun. However, I've seen a fair few I'd rank above it now, that it'll probably not be my favourite ever, but it'll always be enjoyable.

Such is my way with Anime.

You can enjoy stuff even if it's crap. I enjoyed Oreimo because it reminded me a lot of me and my brother and of some friends I used to have as they were practically the same as the girl with weird glasses. That doesn't mean that I don't think it's utter trash 👍

Did someone say Oreimo? :3

cano is pretty cool guy, eh criticises anime without watching it and doesn't afraid of anything

But seriously, you saw the promotional materials for Madoka Magica and thought "well damn, this suits my tastes down to the ground", but apparently, Angel Beats looks like trash? I'm getting some seriously mixed messages over your opinion on moe, is all I'm going to say here. Because how you can say "ermagherd moeblobs yurck", and then see this and be like...

"unf looks amazing let's watch it"

... it's incredible, really. Your powers of osmosis are baffling.

On a semi-related note, Oreimo was good, but the second season finished three episodes too late. That ending sucked. But, y'know, at least I actually watched far enough to make an educated, critical judgement on it, instead of just seeing the words "Little Sister" in the show's title and freaking out.

... Too subtle?

This guy's a winner. Here is 10 internets.

To be fair though, back when this thread was super lively when half you guys weren't around, Madoka came around, myself and like one other person saw the show, was blown away and we started promoting it here. Most people got around to watching it because we were such good trusting friends, some of which have pretty good taste, and even they loved it.

Because of that, Cano cracked under immense peer pressure and gave in... he did in fact judge Madoka by the cover art like he is with Angel Beats right now.

But that was after we begged this guy to stay for 3 episodes... just 3. That's how low we had to go to get a friend to watch something.

If it wasn't for that, he would've missed out on Madoka. We are such good people, and thankfully he expressed his gratitude for it.

P.S. This in other word means his statement isn't 100% correct. :p

So, I have a question, is the dbz battle of Gods canon or not? Also I just finished kill LA king of the hill. What should I see next?

No, that's not how it happened. But(t)!

That isn't how it happened either. My brother told me beforehand what happened in episode 3, so he got me curious and I started watching it because I wanted to see how it happened lol, then I got hooked. I then entered this thread and found this bunch of lamers talking about it and joined in on the fun.

So, you can say that if I didn't ever know what happens in 3, I would have at least took longer to start watching it. I would have watched it eventually because my brother would have pestered me with it to no end just like he did with freaking Gurren Lagann. Wchih I was going to watch anyway. And I trust my brother's taste.

And yes, there have been times that these guys have pushed me to watch stuff hat I wouldn't have watched for myself without a push like Nichijou, wich was highly fun and ammusing, partly because I mostly watched it while @Sephy was streaming it and we were all in stupid chat-mode.

But all in all, my gut has been extremely trusty. I mean, Angel Beats, lol.
