She's quite the character...
I7N0u.jpg

I watched the first episode.
The premise is as stupid as it gets, but the girls are cute.
Somebody needs to buy them bigger skirts, though... It's an eyesore.

Hey, a wife that shares the same passion for your hobbies? You got lucky there, most wifes would probably not give two :censored:s about hobbies.

And well, if it isn't your main favorite (which one is, by the way? FLCL? Cowboy Bebop?), it's still pretty high up the list, I reckon. Otherwise, would it be so influential for your life?

Well, we got along so well because we started with loads of things in common. We don't have the same hobbies per sé, but we both support each other's. You see my cars and stuff? Well we just put together a 1,500 PC for her to play, so it kinda levels up. The Rayearth collection is the collective money pit, though.

As for my favorite show... FLCL would be. Influential =/= favorite. Take into account that I watched Rayearth when I was 15 or so. It was very influential back in the day. If I watched it for the first time tomorrow I'd go "eh that's nice" and that's it. Back then it really touched me, and well, it kinda led to meeting my wife, so there's that too. All in all it came to me in kinda the perfect time.

Huh, I see. It's more or less one hand feeds the other when it comes to hobbies. But Rayearth is the true team effort in the end.

And I also see what you mean, I have a few shows from my childhood that I also hold in high regard when it comes to influences. A good example is a robot show called Nekketsu Saikyō Go-Saurer, which I watched back when I was a wee nipper. If I watched it today, I'd just say it's more fitting for children and then move on. Thing is, I was a children myself when I first caught a glimpse of it, and I was mesmerized. Couple that with the lack of mecha animes in Portugal (they're rather rare around these parts, don't you know), as well as the transformation scenes when the school changed parts of itself to make the protagonists robots, and you can see why did it leave such a mark in my memories. So much in fact, that about 5 or so years later, I still remembered it, even when I had forgotten its and the characters' name. Much like Rayearth and you, Gosaurer came at the right time for me. And I'm happy that it did, to be honest.

It might also be the first ever anime to have a decent Spanish dub.

Shots fired!

But yeah, I bet a slice-of-life show, featuring a Yoko Kanno soundtrack and Clanad-style animation and design about Cano's life would be quite the popular show in Mexico. Heck, I'd watch it.

Wrong. As much as I stand on the side of watching anime in japanese, Mexico's Intertrack produced some of the best dubs I've ever listened to, spanish or else. Card Captor Sakura's was absolutely incredible.

I wouldn't, eew. But I'd probably download the soundtrack if it was by Yoko Kanno. But since the premise is to do a horrible moeblob a la Clannad, it can't have awesome music, so that can't be possible. An all-out generic J-pop score is the bet.

Ah, that's sad to hear. I guess we would have to stick to generic copy-and-paste J-Pop for the soundtrack then. Welp! And I guess if we want to make it a moe hunk of garbage, we also need generic animation and extremely silly character designs. I can only shudder imagining an animated version of you in a horribly designed, excessively childish mess...

For the sake of lameness, yes.

And of course, your "wife anime ver." needs to have excessively wide eyes, a very slim body and the obligatory skimpy skirt. One could also go the extra mile and give her very awkward facial features, a la Sailor Moon Crystal. The show would gain some (accidental) comedy value in the process...

Who would you hire as voice actors?

Some unknown male voice actor with average talent and voice for Cano (unless he's willing to do the role himself, haha), and a female voice actress with a very obnoxious and grating (not to mention loud) voice. Or we could hire really famous voice actors and then I could say that Cano was voiced by Takehito Koyasu or some crazy s:censored: like that, haha.

On this side of the world , today is Friday.

Friday means all persons in this thread that are partaking in the exercise of weekly drawing should be nearly complete with this weeks eye & art candy.

I'm interested to see what this week holds :)
Has anyone considered taking their scanned sketches through to GIMP or Illustrator for some vectorizing?

In other news,

Reading the last few posts , it has to be said , @Cano you da man

I haven't started watching Initial D yet, been kinda busy . Chuunibyou on the other hand has my curiosity now. Then again I need to fuel my petrolhead tendencies, maybe today if I'm not busy :D

J-pop in the soundtrack? Baka please. Go exploring some more.

Didn't plan on it, but if I do advance quicker throughout the year than I anticipate, maybe.

Cano's story about meeting his wife is pretty awesome. They should make an anime out of it.
While we're at it, we should make an anime about my mundane life at home without school.
Dude. With Clanad-style drama and graphics, incredibly lame and all-out moeblob. I'd be a millionaire now.
10/10

Don't forget that Toei has to do it!

Watching Attack on Titan (sue me) for the second time, now in English.. and it is just such a wonderfully twisted and demented show. Seeing so many things hidden in the dialogue that you'd miss on a first viewing. Amazing work.

Got no big drawing for this week since my goal for the week is to clear out the pictures folder (which I finished not too long ago), and sort all them anime soundtracks into the genre playlists. I've been behind on this for years.

Got the pictures (includes cosplay and pixiv fanart) down to 2.95 gb.

Just finished sorting through Howl's Moving Castle.

And since I finished the first season of Ace of Diamond, I won't have any more shows to watch on my commute temporarily. Doodling on the go was a lot less enjoyable than I imagined, so I'll hammer through soundtracks on the go. This should be a perfect opportunity to make full productive use of doing nothing on the commute, because now I should in theory be able to focus on the music and note which ones to keep and delete.

You bet this non-TV show post was on-topic.

You should make a blog about your life. Maybe expand that blog in your sig to fit in that feature

Finished Xam'd Lost Memories earlier. Jesus that show was confusing :S But the visuals and animation were very good. In fact I think Bones got its cues from Studio Ghibli's makes as well as from Eureka Seven.

I beg to differ.
Certainly SnK is a lot more thought-provoking than Upotte and the like, but it doesn't really compare to a lot of other works in a multitude of areas. It's also not as dark as a few others out there.
The animation is stellar but that can't cover for other flaws.

Then again, I watched Date a Live. And enjoyed it.
