England is the worst country
if you're an expat.

England may not be the worst (that award probably goes to some obscure place like Sierra Leone) but it's certainly not the best.

I've been waiting for years to post this in context.
Because the size of your aircraft carriers corresponds to how amazing your country is ( 'w')
When did this become the General Navy thread?

We're about 1.5 months away from the Fall season.

I'll give One Punch Man a go. Manga reader, is the premise too formulaic and repetitive with the fights? That meaning "protagonist dodges and dodges, struggles and then at the point of no return, he delivers a one punch KO?"

My other interests include Owarimonogatari (no hope for Kizu), and.... that's it it seems.

I can't believe Hidan no Aria and K are making a return though.
But anyway

Yes. You get 3 internets today.

The idea of living on a ship made into like a floating province/state/small country (almost) is kinda cool, and that was one of the interesting parts of GuP for me.

Wow, seriously? Haven't watched anything but one this season..

Initially yeah. But more characters come in and it starts getting real funny, to the point where it doesn't take itself seriously. Actually it does sometimes, which is just great. Personally I think the charm comes from not from the MC but the humor. That and the mangaka's art skills, which is off-the-charts.

The Japanese FLCL dub has better voice acting (let's be honest, that's to be expected), but on the DVD release (at least in the UK) the subtitles have a slightly dodgy translation, and FLCL's fast paced nature means it's easier for many who speak English but not Japanese to follow the English dub, even if they're usually pretty adept at following subtitles.

I'd recommend watching it with both, one should watch it multiple times anyway.

Am I the only one who likes the dub?

No. FLCL's dub is definitely one of the best English anime dubs I've encountered.

On a surface level it shares the obnoxiousness of many American dubs, but in an at times intentionally obnoxious show like FLCL that does far less to detract from the show than in something like, say, Azumanga Daioh.

It hasn't. Not yet. Just needs a few more dashes of Kancolle here and there...
Like this?

 Is it bad I had zero idea what you were trying to say and Google'd it? I like to think I was into it before it was mainstream anyways.

Just kidding! :p

FLCL don't make no damn sense

I began watching the Dub then midway in the first episode I instantly switched to Sub and left it like that. I'll maybe give the dub a try after the first watch.

Must be one of those (in)famous "magical youth potion" college students you see so often in modern animes, haha. I still kinda stand by my opinion though, I'm not really sure if that's good #canobait, but I'll wait for the opinion on the man himself regarding this...
