Watching only the good shows first means the not-so good shows become seemingly worse...

When I watched Rosario+Vampire, I enjoyed it. With each next show I watched I just kept on liking it more than the last. By doing this, I'm rarely disappointed by any new show I watch. There have been shows I've bumped into I didn't like and dropped, but you get the idea. I don't like Rosario+Vampire anymore now that I think back.

I personally prefer to just try and watch good shows. There's plenty of 'em. But there's more bad ones than good ones, so a person could waste all their time watching bad ones without ever getting to the good ones. All just to make the bad ones seem less bad? lol, no thanks. I'll pass. 👍

Erm, haha... that's a tough question. I kinda started 11 or so years ago, when I was a kid... started with Digimon, then started watching DBZ shortly thereafter. Then later Adult Swim introduced me to much better anime, such as Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Trigun and Lupin III. And I've been watching anime since. :)

Same here,but I stated seriously 5 years ago with evangelion,then I started to watch everything that was significant from 1998 forwards.

Started with Akira, Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll and a few others about 20 years ago. Kept watching casually through the 90's, Ghost in the Shell, Bubblegum Crisis, Patlabor, some movies that came to the theater but mostly stuff you could get at the video rental place. Accidentally rented Urotsukudoji and learned about tentacle sex...

Spirited Away got me into Miyazaki, saw it in the theater, and then the rest of the Miyazakis though the early to mid 2000's, but that was about all the anime I watched during that period. Except for a few things I caught on Adult Swim, most notably Cowboy Bebop and FLCL.

Then about 4-5 years ago I started my "anime project" with Blood+, and have seen about 100 series and movies since, still going strong. Here's the full list at animenewsnetwork.com.
 
you guys make me sound like a newb.

Not knowing what anime was, I used to watch the first series of Yugioh, Gundam Wing, Gundam Seed, but never got into those to the point where I'd be scrambling to the TV so I don't ever miss an episode.

I started watching Inuyasha on YTV, whenever it was airing, like 7 years ago?

Yeah, didn't know it was "anime"..

I want to say I official got into it late September 2010...
 
Watching claymore..intresting story it has and alot of blood..we'll see if i think its good enough to finish it .I'm on episode 4.

I think you're too young to determine whether or not you can decide if a show is worth finishing or not just yet :P Good judgment will improve once you completed more shows :)

What I'm really trying to say is: Claymore isn't a bad show, and you'd be missing out if you didn't watch it all.
 
I think that is down to how much anime you watch,I have to see a whole bunch of animes from 1989 and I haven't seen Gundam yet,so being a real otaku you requires to see anything from 1979,for me,I just search the ones that can get the best Luz from me,besides anime is wayyy better than other TV shows and movies on theatres.
 
I like to think that I started the trend of sucking up to AOS- in signatures :p
 
Seriously though AOS- when I see your profile page with the colors and the avatar and the profile pic; OMG. If I could hug a profile page it would be yours.

Actually, I need to find somewhere where I can watch Lupin III...

Ah, how I wish Adult Swim showed anime still......good anime.
