Ah, thanks for reminding me of Berserk, I haven't watched it. I'll look into it once I finish lots others I have in line. I've heard it doesn't hold a candle to the manga, but really, the manga is extraordinary.
As for FLCL, no one I know has ever said it was cool the first time out, mainly because you can't understandd half of what's happening on screen. On subsequent views, however, everyone found it pretty awesome. It also happened with me but I really liked it from the start, I remember I started watching it even before OVA 6 came out and I had to wait a solid 3 months before it appeared. Back then, it was like nothing I'd ever seen, and today, it still is. It's one of my all-time favorite animes.
In other things, I resummed Wangan Midnight. It has so many errors that it's starting to get amussing... you know, like in "it's so bad it's good", and I still can't fathom how it can be 26 episodes, but oh well, I'll keep on it.
