You guys are tempting me to buy figures........ I'd go totally cute instead of badass.... Wait... I don't know how my family would feel about some of the figures I'd want :p

EDIT: I forgot to mention. As much as I usually prefer a short haired silent beauty, I totally prefer Asuka over Rei. Rei's just silent and bland as a character.

Or maybe I'm just crazy for tsunderes.

Haha do it! Be aware (like you care anyway) that there are a lot of Asuka figures out there. A LOT! Too many! There are still two more I want. UGGHHH!!!! AOS- may I flip your table?

Edjt: Actually you know what I think? I think if anything, it's the "cute" figurines that rape your wallet faster than stuff like my DM. With cute figures, the selling point is how cute it is. That can be achieved in many ways, especially with Nendoroids. Nendos can be seen as the cheaper alternative to scale figures like someone mentioned here in the past (think it was dice or sly), and because of this, you can end up convincing yourself into believing this is a much more "cost-efficient" (for a lack of a better term) route, when it may not be since with scale figures, you will be demanding on detail which will limit you to buying things...

That's how I see it.... so far anyway....

I actually like the Asuka+Motorcycle figures, not that one posted above in particular though. That bike looks like plastic...

I'm glad you're not into the Nendos. Maybe it's just me, but Nendos do look like collectibles. You wouldn't get just one and live with that... once you've gotten one, chances are, you'll want another nendo (most likely another character from the same show) to accompany it... then it just spirals out of control and before you know it, your TV stand has over 8 nendos standing there... :lol:

I don't mind buying people things... if they'll pay me for drawings or digital paintings...but maybe i should show off what I'm capable of first, shouldn't I?
 
Too bad Mikoto and Kuroko scale figures don't look good.... Cuteness cannot justify buying it because they have plain bases and hold pretty basic poses... now if only the Black Blade had a more 3-dimensional base, I'd get that in a heartbeat.

I agree but I do like the Kuroko I got. It's kind of a bland figure because she's just wearing her school uniform but I like it nonetheless.
 
Oh yeah I forgot you got one. All I could remember is that one Asuka sitting on a tree branch or large metal sheets/cement blocks and Waltsurpurgus (IIRC) going "DAT ASS :drool:"

Hahaha yeah she's sitting on some rubble. Not only is that my favorite Asuka figure, it's my favorite figure in my collection. It looks great and is very detailed.

You found the Kuroko but not the Asuka I was talking about, though I do love my 1/5 Kotobukiya Asuka. She actually has the spot right next to my monitor and that real estate is difficult for a figure to get :)

Loli here are some high res pics of the Alter Asuka I was talking about. I'd post my gallery of all my anime stuff again but the Asuka picture in there is kind of blurry.


There used to be an anime store near where I used to live but it (sadly) got shut down. It's where I picked up my bikini Rin, race queen Tessa, and the full set of Angel Reis. Same place that gave me an Evangelion gashapon set for my birthday lol.

Typically I buy figures at cons though so my selection is usually limited to what the vendors have. Every once in a while I need something though (like the Alter Asuka linked above) and I go to the internet.

In good/bad news just started hanging out with a guy that owns a comic store here in town and he can order a lot of things, including figures. He told me to drop by and I can look through a massive online catalog and he can get me some good deals. So here soon I am gonna go there and browse and if I like what I see and can get some good deals then maybe I'll place an order or two or three :3

Hah thanks. Of course my crappy blurry photos don't do it justice. Some better ones can be found here. It isn't nearly as detailed (in most areas, but a few areas I think it looks better) as the Alter one (which is superior) but I still think it looks great.

Met the dude a few weeks ago. My friend has already bought quite a few things from him (not anime stuff) and we've all gone out drinking a couple of times. He's a pretty cool dude.



That Mami page did look pretty good... But I am content with my new one :p
