I don't understand why people love FLCL. It was occasionally entertaining, but very bland... I guess I'm not too crazy about over the top comedies with no substance.

FLCL has some substance though, even though it frequently pretends otherwise. :lol:

I mean, the plot's total incoherent nonsense, but it's actually got a serious theme of growing up and maturing. Which is more than can be said about something like Puni Puni Poemi. :p

The nuttiness of something like Excel Saga or Puni Puni Poemi, toned down a bit to be less overwhelming/obnoxious, combined with extremely kickass music and action sequences. And they smartly made it only 6 episodes, so it doesn't wear thin like a lot of these shows with over-the-top humor tend to do.

You've mentioned nothing about a story... and so you're trying to compare that to a show that has one? :odd: Get outta here, man....

FLCL's humour is based off high-tension emotion and random drama.... that's what older shows typically use. Shows nowadays use reaction faces and high-tension moments.... S;G uses high-tension sparingly, some drama, and internet meme references.....

If it makes you feel any better I'm enjoying the hell out of Steins;Gate and I've only seen the first 5 episodes so far lol.
 
Gunslinger Girl was pretty bad. Not even trolling.

I'm trying to finish off the shows started.. I've made a schedule to follow that will be the bare minimum shows to watch each day...but right now, I've overridden the schedule to finish Fate/Stay Night, so that's all I've been watching.

Mondays: Fate/Zero, Bakuman II
Tuesdays: Gunslinger Girl, Chobits
Wednesdays: Shinryaku?! Ika Musume, Gunslinger Girl
Thursdays: Gunslinger Girl, Gurren Lagann
Fridays: Gunslinger Girl, Ichizon
Saturdays: Chobits, Ichizon
Sundays: Chobits, Gunslinger girl

I'm close to finishing a lot of the shows here, so when I finish :
-Gurren Lagann, replace TTGL slots with WitchBlade
-Gunslinger Girl, replace its slots Chobits
-Ichizon, the next completed show on my to-watch list...

Negative. I judge shows based on how good they are, not when they're released.

Steins;Gate was pretty damn good, but it wasn't a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. Madoka was better. Not nearly as original, but it was better thought out and executed.

FLCL's got a story. In fact, it has two, both love stories, and both as bizarre as the entire series. And both pretty dramatic, as in they may never materialize. In one the protagonist will keep trying. In the other, well, it's just screwed, but more chances soon arise. It may take several watches to really understand what's going on, but since it is SO AWESOME to watch, it simply doesn't matter. I could watch FLCL twice a day for an entire week and still find it awesome.

I haven't seen S;G yet, though I plan to do so in the near future (I first need to acquire it) so I won't compare both for now, altough I'm absolutely positive that S;G is loosing already in music and animation. I'll bring this back later on when I've watched S;G.

And I couldn't care less what year FLCL was made. It is in fact in the very verge (2000) of the "golden years", but it simpy doesn't matter. What matter is the fact that ten years on it's still one of the best animes I've ever seen. It's got everything, EVERYTHING you could want in a series, in a small package so glory doesn't slip 'tween it's fingers. It's almost perfect, actually.

It's okay, I actually don't know where my Xbox went. I might have to buy another one if I can't find it before October 11. :lol:

Wheel + Pedals + Stand = $583.85. Then there's the game, and possibly a new Xbox...
My wallet is sad. :(

Pretty excited about the wheel though. PS3, PC and Xbox compatible. The Über-pimp wouldn't settle for less. :D

What are you names for each system? You have XBL and PSN listed under opposite ones... That's very confusing.

I'm guessing GTP_Newtype for PSN and I Renown I for XBOX but you need to switch them in your profile lol.

I switched them as I'm rarely even on the PS3 anymore...that of course changed somewhat when I got Musou 3 but still. Renown for XBL, and GTP_Newtype and KR_Viper for PS3. I even have the platform the names belong to in parentheses, don't I?

The former PSN ID is only for GT5, while the latter is for everything else.
