They aren't exactly merging, they're just forming a partnership. This deal is still very great news. More ground is being made. To think back it was almost 3 years ago that simulcasts and legal anime streams took off, and now stuff like this is happening.

How far the companies have gone since the beginning of the anime boom is astounding.
