Takashi Miike, director of the insanely violent Ichi the Killer and the utterly bizarre The Happiness of the Katakuris, is making a Phoenix Wright film. And here’s the first released screen of Hiroki Narimiya starring as the titular lawyer Phoenix Wright. Slated for a 2012 release hopefully there won’t be any objections from the critics.
Less frantic than the last one and a bit more understandable battle, which is good. Looks like we're getting into some real enemies now though...and the story keeps developing further. Don't wanna get too many new characters though...then it becomes all too hard to follow all of them.
Kamina is still very dumb though Yoko really would be a good sensei for him.
My curiosity got the better of me, and I indulged in School Days last night. Fortunately I decided not to spend the 5+ hours it’d take to watch the anime, and just read the manga instead.
My reaction:
Seriously, that was worse than a soap opera.
But to be fair, I think I’m missing the last chapter where
Sekai kills Makoto and has him stuffed so he can never ever leave her
Okay, I made that up. But if there was a thirteenth chapter, it’d probably go something like that.
Then in the next chapter, she’d murder everyone on Earth so that she could have her stuffed Makoto all to herself. Talk about some intense drama!
Manga: Flimsy romance setup for an even flimsier shock ending. 3/10 (1/10, +2 for the amusement I got from how bad it was) 👎
But I also feel confident that I can accurately score the anime from just reading the manga, even if some of the plot details differ. It’s almost certainly just as horrible, but made much worse by the fact that it’s dragged out to over 5 hours. Add in some wonderful, repetitive music to accompany the 5+ hours of top-notch drama, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for suicide success!
Anime: 2/10 (0/10, +2 for benefit of the doubt since I haven’t actually watched it)
I honestly feel much worse about humanity after reading School Days, simply for the fact that I know there’s probably some people out there who actually like it.
Have a field trip tomorrow and I gotta go now. Still going to sleep with Mari by my side because of comfort and that I'm paranoid that she's gonna let Asuka sleep on my bed instead so that Asuka can launch another set of blows, hooks, kicks and uppercuts at me.
