Well, both are censoring... but yeah, I agree. The problem isn't really a few blocks in front of what you want to see, missing out on complete scenes is what is driving me mad :mad:

Because Kamina was extremely influential to them.... The Gurren Brigade's morale was fueled by his passion, and after his fall, everyone was falling apart as a team and Kitten took the liberty of trying to fix that.

Crap... I saw some censoring going on in Mirai Nikki 6 and decided to look more into it. It turns out the anime is being significantly censored :indiff:

People say it's not only your average cover up, some scenes are being completely cut out. Apparently both gore and ecchi :(

Nearly all late-night anime get edited (They're not on late due to content really, it's more that the TV airing is promotion for the DVD's/BD's.), so I'm not surprised. Also, you haven't seen anything yet. Try this censorship.

BTW, you should have seen the amount of censorship in Blood-C. It was so gory, you would be blinded from them having to censor so much in various instances. It got kinda annoying me not getting to see people's heads explode with blood. (That just sounded so wrong.)

More like as soon as FUNimation releases the series as they have it and simulcast it. If you sign-up for their Elite Subscription, they'll probably have uncensored streams in the future. Freezing is getting uncensored streams exclusively through that, so no more black bars.

More like a marketing tactic the Japanese have used for a long time. It entices you to buy the DVD's/BD's more.

It's a marketing tactic that works very, very well, especially for ecchi series. Trust me, the Japanese know what they're doing on this to increase sales.

It may be stupid, but they know how to increase profits that way.

Even I was able to avoid such silliness while I was 'still' an EVA nut (I still am but TTGL has been better. Honest :D). I mean now I wouldn't get, say, Nia chatting to 'me'. Partially because...DK should be...unique? (really lol) and mostly because I do not want to emerge from every post with a head ache (either through total annoyance or total confusion :lol:) :lol:

I don't care too much about the ecchi in Mirai Nikki(hell, it isn't even as censored as the gore) and I sure as hell don't care about mosaics.

Censorship should be used to censor for younger audiences. This is a late night show, there is no excuse.

It still is what it is. It's all about marketing (They are a business after all.), take it up with the people who make these shows who then fight for these airing times on various channels. It's been like this for a long time, and it won't change.

Hey Randy, what's your point of view of the censorship on Mirai Nikki?

I still have to see the episode to say anything on it...

but I have watched Seikon no Qwaser II and that show was covered in lightbeams left and right.... even the first season wasn't as bad.
 
Probably because with the first season you probably were watching fansubs made from the uncut DVD's and BD's. You were watching Seikon no Qwaser II while it was airing.
 
Marketing man, marketing. They aren't being bastards, they're wanting more people to not just watch only the TV airing, especially since late-night anime gets less than 3.0 for ratings anyway.
 
Marketing doesn't stop them from being bastards.

Just because they have a reason, doesn't mean it's a good one. I'll probably buy the show on Blu-ray when it comes here.. that doesn't mean I like being screwed out of quality right now.
 
If you were in their position, you'd want to have a way to increase DVD and BD sales too as the TV rating revenue doesn't amount to much. The DVD's and BD's are where they earn the most money, and where it earns enough to break even or better.

Also be prepared to wait quite a while.:pFUNimation hasn't announced BD or DVD rights for Mirrai Nikki AFAIK. If the legal streaming numbers are bad, there will most likely be no release. Aria the Scarlet Ammo still has no sign of any type of release here, and remains streaming only.:(
 
Learning Japanese, getting a region free DVD/BD player, importing the singles (Or that expensive box set whenever it comes out.), and then watching it after all that time, money and effort FTW!!!;D(Don't know why I felt like posting that.)

Though yeah, I hate it when a title ends up streaming only, but it is what it is. I'm still waiting on this to get a release here (I don't care if it ends up subbed-only.). The streams are absolutely horrible in certain aspects (Toei Animation, what were you thinking?!!!:mad:).

Toei Animation struck a gold mine with that series. So many spin-offs (Each one is 49 episodes usually.), it's ridiculous. It consistently gets in the top 10 animation TV rankings.
