Heh, Tokyopop actually started releasing the manga for Mirrai Nikki here back in 2009, but they stopped at 10 volumes. Must be because this happened, though the thing below that makes me facepalm. Stay in the grave Tokyopop, you were a good publisher, you greatly helped the market here and did many things that other publishers later followed like your manga rating system, and printing right-to-left, (And when you kept things going, and in print.), but you should just stay down at this point. You after all even made the bad decision of picking up every title in sight no matter what it was about.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=8568 (Look at how there's only 10 releases.)

Manga is usually better, so it's probably the case here. But obviously I can't say anything for sure since I haven't tried the manga or anime, just making a statement.:p

WHAT?!

I'm gonna go hit up the Book Offs and scrounge for these :foams at mouth:

And the adaption has pretty much been very close to the manga from the few chapters I read.

You can get all 10 at Rightstuf still, but who knows for how long. Also, two volumes have 4 or less left, better hurry.:sly:*Buys them all.:p*

Here's my anime line-up for the next... while.

If you think I should add/change anything, speak now or forever hold your peace. :p

Note: If I don't have it on my hard drive already, I'm not watching it anytime soon. That eliminates shows that are still airing, and could also rule out some finished shows.

Remove Chaos;Head and replace it with Darker Than Black.

And for Haruhi make sure you watch S1 & S2 together in chronological order, not air order.

Where the heck did that come from? A TV guide website?

Also just to let you know on Gits:SAC (Along with it's second season.), lots of people really love it. Think of it as the Steins;Gate of the early 2000's, except it's been seen way more, and is way more popular.

I personally liked it (Overall both were 7/10's.), but I was pretty much in the minority on my opinion. There's an unbelievable amount of dialogue (Much of it is hard to comprehend at times.), though when there is action, it doesn't disappoint, especially with that animation.

I've already watched Darker Than Black.

Season 1 and Gaiden, anyways. I've got the 2nd season, but I'm not in any rush to watch it... I'd probably have to rewatch the first season and Gaiden, since I barely remember the story. And I'm not in any rush to do that, either. :p

It came from my spreadsheet.

I'm sure I'll like SAC. I loved the two Ghost In The Shell movies. If the show's anything like the movies, comparing it to Steins;Gate (except in popularity during its time period) is a disservice. A much deeper story with actual meaning, not just basic emotion played on by drama.

Haruhi has been on my on-hold list for two years, partially due to that odd episode order (So many orders.:nervous:). So the Chronological order is the best way to watch the first time around, especially if you then go into season 2? I can't for the life of me figure out what order is best for that first viewing. I want it to be the easiest to understand, but is the most enjoyable at the same time.

On a side-note, when I first tried it, I watched the first two episodes for the DVD order.

To make it even more confusing, according to Wikipedia, there is no "season 2". They just re-aired the first season with a bunch of new episodes added to it.

Just watch it in air order.... chronological order is for dumbos, right Sephy?

Don't bother wasting your time on Chaos;Head

Since the general consensus so far seems to be to skip Chaos;Head, any suggestions on what to put in its place?

The Almighty Overlord Wikipedia
2009 version

On April 3, 2009, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya began re-airing on Japanese television networks.[7] However, whereas the original airing comprised only fourteen episodes, the re-airing features twenty-eight episodes, including fourteen new episodes, collectively referred to as 'season two' in DVD releases. All episodes were aired in chronological order, resulting in the new episodes being mixed in with the old ones. The English-dubbed version of the 14 new episodes of the anime was aired on Animax Asia and its subsidiaries from April 6, 2011.[8] DVD versions of the 2006 episodes were shown in the broadcast, featuring small amounts of additional footage and dialogue that were not shown in the original TV broadcast. The Endless Eight episodes aired on 7mate in 2011.
I don't even know what to think, except that there is a season 2.

The additional episodes are season 2. I think the old episodes were re-aired too but yeah there are new episodes in season 2.

So... for DVD, there's two seasons. But for TV there's only one.

They made this show just to confuse people, I think. :p

In any case, I have 28 episodes so I guess I have both seasons. 👍

The light novels everything Haruhi is based off of probably isn't confusing hopefully. You can buy those here.:)

I'd watch it in chronological order if I hadn't seen any of it yet. However since I've seen season one I am just going to watch season two and the movie. Screw chronological order!

Yaywalter just replace Chaos;Head with Afro Samurai.

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai
Why didn't you give him the short name of AnoHana?!!!:scared:It's like not using Oreimo for Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai.
Afro Samurai is the only anime DVD I own(along with the movie). Going to buy some more eventually.
How about now?:sly:

DVD's/BD's are better than illegal streams and downloads.:sly:

Well, I don't have Afro Samurai. I do have Claymore, but it's fairly low-priority for me. If others agree that I should add Claymore, I will... but for now I remain open to further suggestions.

Man speaks the truth. 👍

Well what do you have?

...a lot.

I'm not on the ship right now, so I don't have access to my external hard drive at this moment... otherwise I'd give you a list. :p

For a general reference, my anime folder alone is over 3 TB. And according to Plex, I've got 360-something TV shows... only about 30 of which aren't an anime series.

Well if you have Soul Eater, I'd suggest that. Though the ending absolutely sucks, but it doesn't bring the quality down much.

Also at a certain point (Like early 30's) is when the anime diverges from the manga and does it's own thing.

I don't have Soul Eater. To be honest, judging from the trailers I've seen for it, it looks like garbage. No offense. :p
