Bladedance was a terrible and rushed show, but not absolute crap. You want absolute crap?

-Chrono Trigger OVA
-Blast of Tempest
-Eureka Seven AO
-Tenchi Muyo! GXP
-Master of Martial Hearts
-Mahouka
-Persona 4: The Golden Animation
-Glasslip
-BlazBlue Alter Memory
-Venus Versus Virus

There you go, easily some of the worst anime I've ever seen.

The Golden one, not the original. There's a difference between the original Persona 4 anime and the Persona 4 Golden anime. The former is one of the very few good anime based off of a video game, the latter is one of the worst and a total disaster. Golden tries to cover only the stuff that the Golden version of the Persona 4 game added, being scenes with that new female character.

What happens is you get something that's very disjointed and you get nothing really but crap. Also the animation is even worse with QUALITY (It was handled by a different animation studio). I'm a bit amazed that both had the same director Seiji Kishi. It's still a miracle Persona 4: The Animation turned out good with him of all people directing (Stop getting on board with video game adaptations Kishi!).

If you want to watch a Persona 4 anime, go only with the original and skip Golden completely (Just stick with game it's based off of which I've heard is better than the original P4), you'll thank me later.

@Cano, Osoi.

Week 5: Usami Masamune (Mayo Chiki)

Persona 4 crap? Really?

The Animation was written with an obvious plot. Everyone was morally driven and influenced by Yu, and whenever some friendship speech comes about, literally everyone took turns saying something, every single time. It's like they have to point out the obviousness of where the plot is headed, and I realized at that point Persona's targeted towards a younger audience. Was so glad after the season was over.

That said, Jojo pans out with obvious plot lines. They're even worse than Persona at this, but I like the the art style so I continue to watch it.

To my understanding, if you played the rpg, you watched the anime. Same reason went for BB:alter memory. Hopefully, if they ever do make a Guilty Gear anime. It will be a different plot every season...

Holy crap...I saw a GoFundMe campaign for him just two days ago saying he had a medical emergency. Damn, that's bad. :(

I follow one pretty cool guy on Tumblr who's a huge Rooster Teeth fan. He's blogged plenty of tributes and messages.
RWBY is seemingly a very good thing. RIP.

I had to look it up his name too.

33 y.o animator who dropped out of high school and modded existing video games that got him into the game/animation industry.

Just finished Love Live s1 about to watch s2 now.. best music anime i seen since akb and why better then that bored fest k-ON

Okay, so I'm probably not going to finish Love Live, but how's it compare to this:

???

One things for certain, Love Live does not have as much gratuitous use of violins. :dopey:;)

For that matter, would it even be a fair comparison to compare things to K-ON? I'm willing to take a bet most of the idol shows are all better than K-ON. Idol culture is pretty grim after all. I'm sure animators would have at least brought in some reality to their series.

K-ON spends a lot of time on friendship & bonding.... with tea, biscuits, going out and doing other non-productive leisurely activities. If you've watched both seasons and the movie, you may have noticed very little time is spent writing, practicing or indulging on the subject of music itself.

The fault of that primarily has to do with Ritsu and Yui's lazy personalities that distract the group from a consistent practice routine. The balance however is restored with Azusa and Mio who care significantly more about the music they rock, the latter being the one responsible for their song lyrics, with the former being the most technically skilled at their instrument (correct me if I'm wrong). Mugi is the middleman. She can either take the band seriously, or she can be just as distracted as the other two, depending on which atmosphere is more dominant at the time.

Golden years? Yes the 90's were full of Cowboy Bebops.......

 you're idiotic sometimes, specially for someone who has watched so much of this crap. The 90's had one Cowboy Bebop, which is more than enough. It also had several more revelatory shows. I never said anime never sucked in the 90s, boy do I know it mostly sucked, as it has done in basically it's entire history. The important part of the mid-to-late 90s is that all the good, influential shows took anime to -arguably- it's most mature state as an artform until then, made people around the world take it seriously and open their eyes to it... all of which went right to hell about... what? maybe 2003, when money-making moeblobs and "the big three" came about and the industry shifted towards such trends that still haunt it to this day.

I agree with everything there except for that first sentence :D
Gotta be Belgium in this world of GTP.

You don't agree because you've not dealt with him for long enough. If you did, you'd see his oftentimes double rethoric when it comes to anime and how utterly inconsistent he is in his judging.

I forgot to feed the trolls...

money-making moeblobs

Oh Christ, here we go...

Long story short, if there are genres that the industry favours nowadays that you don't like, it doesn't mean that the entire art form has gone to hell; it means that your tastes don't match modern industry trends. Does that mean that the art form "sucks" nowadays? Of course not. And making sweeping statements about commerciality paints you as a pretentious hipster.

Just like some of the music students who I hang out with, and their general reactions to what they consider "pop music" from the late '80s and onwards. Genres that you don't like and don't understand are currently favoured by the industry, but that doesn't mean that the art form is now objectively "bad" - and just because a work makes money doesn't invalidate its artistry.

I've redrafted this post from an initially far longer and more abrasive one to avoid starting a flame war, which I simply can't be bothered to undergo on this site. The me from two years ago might have given you some really seething anger, but sadly, not anymore. I have better things to do; for one, actually watching the shows that I enjoy as opposed to ripping into other people for having different opinions.
