Also I remember the only reason I started reading about NGE...I was just looking through the Super GT season pages on Wiki, then it says that one of the cars actually changed their livery to support the NGE movie adaption. So I just went and clicked on NGE and then everything happened :lol: Stupid Super GT, fooling me into these interests :lol:

I have the Platinum Collection. It's a completely remastered version with full surround sound and commentaries and director's cuts of a couple episodes. Also each disc has a great booklet that's full of good info. This set is recommended.

The perfect collection is the original DVD release. It's super expensive these days and doesn't look as good.

Holiday Special has a redesigned cover and comes in slim packs. It was part of ADV's plan to make more money while cutting costs.
 
Nope. For that you would have to watch End of Evangelion.

And I think I need to dump some images in commemoration of some actual new people to the thread, and not a troll.
 
I'm actually having trouble focusing in German class at the moment...every time I learn a new phrase I get a visual demonstration of it courtesy of Asuka. :lol:

Didn't have time since school started today. I'm at school now, but I've already opened it up before I left.

All I'm going to say is, the assembly instructions are stupid and lacking detail... The cannon doesn't firmly attach to anything unlike the sword and scythe on BGS and DM respectively. It actually just rests on her right hand and on the base, then you use the chain that comes with it and you're supposed to wrap it around her arm and the cannon in some vaguely described way. There were only 3 directional photos so it became quite ambiguous.... I'll have to check up the prototype photos and see if I did it right or not...

THEN I'll post pics. :p
 
That episode was.... amazing. I need to sit back and think about it with a bottle of Dr. Pepper. Since I didn't have any while watching :(

Expected the twist that Okarin went back to the past to save her. But holy table flip... stabbing her? I didn't expect that at all. Seeing mai waifu getting stabbed was painful, I cried.

But the end of the episode left me with a biiiiggg smile on my face. This show is gonna go out with a bang, and it's gonna be aweomesauce.

The Platinum set has been remastered. It looks much better than the Perfect set. Not only that they took the audio and made it 5.1 instead of the original stereo. Platinum has commentaries by the ADV staff on quite a few of the episodes and a couple of the episodes have a director's cut option. And again on the Platinum set each disc comes with a booklet containing a lot of good info.

The Perfect set is the original. Visually it doesn't look as good and the audio isn't as good. It's a little bare with the extras as well. However it is a collector's item now and it can be hard to find and it's expensive.

Skip the Holiday set.

Hopefully that answers your questions :)


Now go buy the Platinum set, watch it, then watch EoE, then watch the first 2 Rebuild movies. DO IT NOW!
