I'll say most of this in plot order. That means starting with Mari, and I have to say the helmet she wears looks so cool!!! We need more pictures of her with that, I love it. Her voice is kinda a bit meh though.
Asuka...well, her first conversation with Shinji was ultra lol. By the way...what is the Seventh Angel? I can't remember its look from the original.
The Eighth Angel seemed odd at first until it morphed into the one I know about for reals. Seemed really well animated, and wasn't quite as annoying with sounds as Ramiel, thankfully.
Mari's landing was very very lol. Weird how they left her alone for a while though...still not convinced she's completely normal at this point with the smell and everything. She also has remarkably fail English accent for a British girl.
Asuka's brutal smashing was really creepy, I mean, the MUSIC!!! Why?!!!!! The very last of her we see in the film at all is also a bit weird. In general, Asuka seemed as bitchy as before, but her story seemed much sadder straight away. She also says 'baka Shinji' a lot. And of course, keeping up VERY well with the traditional 'Anta baka?'. Even though it was translated WRONG in my video, saying just 'Are you stupid?' as opposed to 'What are you, stupid?'. Not impressed.
And no Asuka your suit was not revealing in the slightest.
Rei also seemed a little bit more personality-ful but not as much as I would have quite expected.
Mari then getting into Unit 02...my god. First, her really freaky boob jiggle...OMG that could make me sick. How she synched with it in the first place is beyond me...then she turns Unit 02 berserk...and my god, all of a sudden...nope, she is not a human. Seriously...look at her there. LOOK AT HER!!! I didn't know it was that bad before, but my previous thoughts of her not being completely human got turned up to infinity...times FOUR! Dear god, if there isn't a plot twist with her later then Gainax got the story wrong.
Angel 10 is very different to the anime in terms of what it does...battle's still as important/epic, mind you.
The ending was...quite psychedelic, let's say. Lots of Shinji and Rei everything, the end of the world...then after a sweet credits song Kaworu magically stops it. Bravo him.
And by the previews, clearly we'll be getting to Ep24 point seeing as Kaworu's 06 is 'descending on Dogma'. Also wonder who the pilot of Eva 08 is...I wonder if it's a character that does my mind's fiction of NGE justice. Probably another pseudo-Angel but w/e. I bet you a million pounds though Asuka only comes back at the very end though. She's a pirate, lol.
Thing is though...what fan service will Misato provide? Speaking of which she looked pretty hot throughout the whole film.
