Absolutely. If I could, I'd score it 11/10. 👍

It starts off extremely slow, but the ending is absolutely amazing. And it's only 40-something minutes long. Really, there's no excuse why nk4e shouldn't make this his top viewing priority. :)

On the next episode of Ask Mari my Lady, Mari's going to buy a new car herself! Will driftking18594 get to test-drive it without being accused by Asuka of being a two-timer? :lol: PS3 ain't mine, it belongs to my cousin. I'd play it occasionally when my cousin sets it up in his room but he's a busy man and all that.

Made it to Pheonix, Arizona. Now I get to wait two hours before my next flight, yay....

On the flight here, I listened to a podcast about John Titor. Pretty fascinating. It didn't make the course of certain events I didn't like in Steins;Gate any more satisfying for me, but I can appreciate that they weren't the ones who thought up the time travel mechanisms they used.

In light of the new information, I now view Steins;Gate as a meh story that's actually still pretty cool and interesting because it's wrapped around a fascinating true hoax. And because it's got (mostly) good characters. :p

Just watched Guilty Crown 1.

So far: very cool but dumb. Reminds me of Code Geass (obviously), except for the dumb part. But... it's cool enough I might watch it for the cool factor alone :lol:

Are you watching both seasons 1 and 2? You need to watch both of them together as if it was a 27 episode run.
 
To be specific, there's a Melancholy of Haruhi (2006) and a Melancholy of Haruhi (2009)... then there's Disappearance of Haruhi which you absolutely must watch afterwards or I'll strangle Mari.

Still at season 1, and season 2's done downloading so yeah I'm gonna watch 'em all.

I'm watching season 1 in chronological order (Haruhi order).

Well, just as an example: (spoiler just for safety)

When Lelouch get's his Geass you instantly begin to wonder what's behind it, what the hell is this, etc... However, when Shuu gets his, uhm... void? You instantly know whats behind it: ecchi. Sure, the same can be said about both powers, they are both mysterious and intriguing but here lies the crucial difference. In Code Geass the mysterious power the protagonist receives is primarily there to give the anime mystery, to intrigue. In Guilty Crown the mysterious power purpose is immediately apparent: coolness and ecchi. The mystery behind it is merely secondary.

You can also see that by what the power consists of. Guilty Crown: giant sword, gun, and what have you, removed from the boobs of a hot girl. Code Geass: just a "magic" eye. Given by a hot girl? Sure, but not removed from her boobs

From this you can see how the anime is developed based on well, dumb things. That's my main reason to consider it dumb. There are many other nitpicks I have with it which are mostly weird choices made by the characters to keep the story moving. But as I said they are mostly nitpicks and many anime/movie/books have those.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying it's bad... it seems like a fun anime to watch. I just don't expect it to have much depth. It's just an anime to see cool characters, weapons, swords, pretty girls and not think much, a.k.a. dumb.

Epi 2:

A coward protagonist? Might be interesting. Intrigued to see how it develops.

EDIT: I didn't say Steins;Gate was dumb :p
