Finished Bakemono and caught up with Nisemono. I feel like this show is slowly losing it's charm and wittiness. Still an interesting watch though. Looking forward for the next episode.

Ye its still a good watch though , its seem mostly like they just wanted to add a little ,ore depth to the series by showing off the sisters like the cherry on the Bakemono ice cream :sly:

Madoka Magica 3
What....the....🤬...just happened to Mami? She got her head bitten off so easily. I never expected her to lose (And die.) so easily.

Also, where's the blood? I was expecting to see blood shoot up, or maybe I've been led to believe (Blame the MASSIVE, MASSIVE, MASSIVE hype the internet had for the show.) this show isn't as dark as I originally thought (That being it's extremely dark, one of the darkest shows of all-time.).

Dude, just wait and see. The snowball has started rolling. That very event in 3 is precisely what triggers everything. You will now get more and more depressed each episode.

enjoy it, its amazing.

You're only at episode three, which is basically easy mode. Give it, oh, 3 more episodes I'd say.

Also, have you ever seen Black Lagoon? Dark, with a decent amount of gore.

Dark and gore are two different things...

Just keep watching. Even if you can't now, you'll get the dark soon enough.
They go hand and hand most of the time.

Anyway, I'm watching at the rate Crunchyroll is adding the episodes (1 a week, still faster than Aniplex can release it on BD and DVD here.), so I'll be watching 4 next week.

We just watched Madoka 10.

Every freaking time I watch that episode, I'm in absolute awe of how incredibly good it is. It blows my mind. It's amazing.
I agree with what this man says. Was your wife in awe?

I don't think I ever mentioned it was gorey to him. But it's certainly really 🤬 the hell up, dark and amazing. Doesn't need gore at all. I prefer it without actually, it's more psychological than bloody.

TC, you watched episode 3 and it's still a 7/10 for you? I am disappoint, but there is still plenty of awesome to go.

Blood is only for anime made by Michael Bay, if you know what I mean...

It wasn't you, it was the various places I have been at talking about it. What I gathered was Madoka Magica was taking your typical magical girl anime, and making it very, very, very, very, very, very dark and gory. This was back when it was still airing, and a few months after it had finished, and there was massive hype everywhere still.

You know Crunchyroll use to do illegal distribution? Ironically, they stopped right around 08, which is when everything started to decline for the industry.

So they probably killed the North American anime industry.

I'm very, very well aware of that fact. But the thing is they later went legit, and are now one of the main places people go to watch anime online legally. The Japanese and American companies support them quite a bit. Aniplex USA is the company having them stream Madoka in the first place.

The CR situation is kind of like how ADV Films started out as a fansubbing group selling fansubbed VHS's before they went legit, and as such were no longer a fansub group.

Also, the decline started happening in 2005 when sales actually went up for a year after falling for a bit. We didn't see a 35% drop until 2009 to 2010 which is after they went legit. Before that, it was just a steady decline.

I wonder what the Jetro report will look like come 2013 when they'll do another one (They do the report every two years.). I wonder how Aniplex's imports will affect the charts considering Baccano! and The Garden of Sinners are both sold out, and Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal is now finally starting to sell out.

Then we have Fate/Zero which is the 9th best-selling Blu-ray on Rightstuf right now (4 of the BD's outselling it are combo packs.). The counter could appear at any moment, and follow in KnK's footsteps, selling out before release, even though it's been up for pre-order longer than KnK was.

So what would you rate Puella Magi after seeing all of it?

I'm finding it WAY more awesome this second time around than the first one, maybe due to the unfavorable circumstances in which I watched it the first time, and that now I'm able to watch it in high quality and with my complete attention.

And it's climbing rapidly. Maybe 9.

Sweet, looks like I don't have to post Kanna pictures now.

Not even for me? :(

I seriously thought he had already watched it.

Looking around the Mania thread for when KnK was selling out, seems the counter if Fate/Zero follows KnK's footsteps will appear March 3rd or March 4th on Rightstuf. KnK's appeared February 3, 2011, and it completely sold out come February 7, 2011, before the release date of February 8, 2011.

As I've read, there were 800 copies brought over here. The pre-orders opened December 13, 2010. Fate/Zero's opened December 1, 2010.

I'm going to be watching Fate/Zero very closely to see when the set sells out from Rightstuf. It possibly may not sell out before release due to various factors (Which as I'm bored, I'll list below.), but it certainly won't be available by the time the second box set containing Fate/Zero 2 comes out in the Fall.

What could hinder sales:
1. The legal streams. KnK when it came out, that Blu-ray box was the only legal way to watch the show. Fate/Zero however is streaming on Hulu, Crackle, and Crunchyroll. It was also simulcasted in 8 languages on NicoNico Douga.
2. Having to pay $370 twice as apposed to $400 once. KnK was a one-time thing, Fate/Zero is a two-time thing.
3. The exchange rate. KnK was $50 cheaper at TRSI than Amazon Japan at the time. Right now, Fate/Zero is about $30 more expensive at TRSI than Amazon Japan as the exchange rate continues to get better. Though the advantages you'll get from TRSI are the English translated booklet, and insured shipping.

And have you seen Black Lagoon?
No I haven't. It's also long OOP. It's involved in that Geneon Universal thing in Japan screwing FUNimation's distribution of Geneon Entertainment USA titles, and Geneon titles they licensed themselves. That roadblock isn't completely gone yet, so they can't bring it back into print yet, but probably later this year.

~HnK and Fate/Zero numbers~

Why did you continue to go on about that? Sometimes I just don't understand who you are posting for.

Claims to be otaku, lets bureaucratic idiocy stops him from watching anime.

Black Lagoon makes Madoka look fairly mild in the dark department I feel. Missing out.
