All my friend was able to tell me was that the terms used in the show are more complex than Initial D. Not like I really care, but thanks for the heads up I guess?

I'm aware of his got bad taste in shows... guy's a weeaboo who hasn't watched anime in ages, is a tech geek (loves cars and mechas and gundams which includes seed and wing), and is absolutely in love with mainstream vocaloids. 'Nuff said. Aside from that, this guy doesn't say much.

I cannot deny that WM looks absolutely gorgeous... well the cars anyway, the rest of it looks horrid, including the character desings... omgwhatweretheythinking kinda stuff. But the car animations are amazing. And there was even some jazz thrown here and there for good measure, but that's it.

I watched TTGL dubbed and I like it, it's not bad.

Wangan Midnight has a stupid plot. I dropped it almost immediately. I haven't watched it, but my friends told me that the liveaction movie is way better.

That doesn't mean anyth... who am I kidding? Yes, it does.

The respect-o-meter, it is dropping.

Outlaw Star had an all right dub, but only all right. The issue there is always one character with an English dub that is just horrible, and me, being insane as I am, can't handle it.

Me neither, though I wouldn't say my problem is usually with one character. The whole thing actually feels wrong, even if the dub is decent. I guess I'm too used with subs.

This was years ago bro, I don't remember, though I want to say a female character?

But like how Jet sounds at times in Bebop's dub turns me off from it often, and I grew up watching that with the dub. And it is a good dub in general. But yeah, that is kind of what happens.

you only watch dubs when the show is on TV and you can't be arsed to find it in japanese because meh. Over here in Mexico we had a great dubbing industry for about a decade that did all the classic shows that aired here, Dragon Ball, Ranma, Saint Seiya, Sailor moon, all the stuff that forged the "anime generation" here and in Latin America, as the dubs were so good they were shown in places as far away as Chile and Argentina.

There was one company called Intertrack that did some amazing stuff, including The Simpsons for more than ten years, and for me, their ultimate work, Card Captor Sakura, that dubbing was absolutely, incredibly flawless. Sadly, the company went belly up in the early 00s and from there all the latin dubs have been nothing but trash.

No I don't because there is none, just a big pile of fail and some pretty cool car animations.

It takes some understanding to appreciate WM :|

EDIT: I've heard from my mates at another forum that the anime is better than the live-action movie. The cars in the live-action one isn't faithful to the original too.

But I can only think for now that WM is for people who understand, not for those who don't...

The whole premise of the Devil Z is just silly. Initial D is better because it's exciting and has sweet eurobeat music.

Must be the difference in our tastes, since I find Eurobeat cheesy and awkward.

IMHO WM has more attention on the car's mechanics than ID. That's all I wanna say for now.

It's better than Initial D in mostly every respect, it's just that Initial D's suckness is just unfathomable. Also, what is there to understand about WM? It's completely pointless and random. The Devil Z thing could have been developed and THEN the show might have had somewhere to go... but it never gets past the car's name. Then on it's generic street racing. Please.

Well we can learn about chassis strength and all taht.

Sure it may have flaws but for me, it's nothing to worry about.

The eurobeat is fitting since it's upbeat, it gets you pumped.

And what are you trying to get at with WM having more emphasis on mechanics than ID?

TTGL Ep. 22:

OMG. How can Nia be so goddamn adorable at a time like this?

Rossiu was made to look like an ass by the man who, apparently, hasn't learned anything since the seven years prior to these events.

Also, insert "Yo dawg" joke here for the combination scenes. Awesome

Loliblade ver2
You're watching it dubbed.

I think what he's evidently doing is getting away from Nia's voice.

You even hear a decibel now, and you'll get the most impossible migraine.

Curves are best down at the ass. :)
Agreed.
Dude WUT. When I watched WM I could not believe they could stretch it to 26 episodes, with 5 it would have been enough. It ALL sucked hardcore with the exception of how awesome the cars look. In fact if it was just a series of short films showing the cars racing trough the wangan with some thumpin' tunes it would have been awesome. But no, lame characters, lame plot that went nowhere, stupid "devil Z" thing that also neever went anywhere, very poor technical background for a racing anime... a disaster, like every other car anime. The only good points were some of the music and how cool the cars looked.
Exactly, they threw out two characters after about 10 episodes with no explanation. :boggled: It's basically as dumb as "The Fast and the Furious".

Indeed. I'm just especially fond of the first two. :D

So, TTGL recap up to Ep. 21:

Rossiu is a 🤬 moron. "Hey, let's scrap Gurren Lagann because we have no longer have a use for that, right? Right?" That's just so unbelievably retarded. You don't understand Spiral Energy, okay fine... but (threatening to, anyway) scrapping the one Gunman that kicked every bit of ass that came it's way? Seriously?

This is turning into a review of sorts so I'll cut it short: Nia's been an Anti-Spiral all along? Big 🤬 surprise there (I'm being serious), Simon can't catch a break to save his life. Yoko looked a wee bit better when she was younger... but is amazingly just as hot as Yomako, and I say that as if it's an entirely different person, but you know what I mean. Viral is now apart of Team Gurren; at first I was like "WUT?" but then I was like "Awesome!" I left out a bunch of other stuff I'd want to rant about, but I'll close with this: What was the deal with that 🤬 rooster beastman?
Rossiu's just pandering to the evangelical vote.

That (and Yoko's boobs) is why Simon should have picked Yoko over Nia, BTW. Redheads > bluenettes (OK, in Nia's case it's some sort of cream/blue combo, but whatever).
You have low standards, don't you.

I've randomly been leaving Nise and Bake episodes. Keep noticing random details and references.

Is nice.

You can really see how people tune cars in WM. In ID, it's *mostly* racing, though I have nothing against that.

Judging the Maxmium Tune 4 album I've listened to, it's more like Dance than Eurobeat.

You have it too? :O

Whatever guys. There's more to it than racing in WM. I just don't think some of you were able to notice it.

Between the avatars and randomly colored fonts, I forgot who it was that likes the horribly proportioned girls with the LOL BEWBS art style.

Cause who ever that is, they have no taste.
