Don't mind Canoe; he's a bit of a nutcase and shell.

Similar Animes? Look up older shows... like Perfect Blue.

Would you recommend subtitles or English dub? I personally prefer subtitles, but there are some things that are better off watching dubbed.

I do dubs on older shows if possible because I'm used to the kinds of VA chosen at the time versus now. If not, I do subs.

What's wrong with starting with Eva? Or I am just generally confused with your comment.

Starting with NGE is a little odd because it's not really a normal show, and remember to watch End of Evangelion (it's a movie) when you finish the series. And then start the new Rebuild movies. I congratulate you though. Evangelion is the best anime ever made.

I've got them all, the 26 episodes, death & rebirth and part 1 and 2 of the end. Im up to episode 16 and I can already can't wait to watch more episodes. Just have to wait till this afternoon.

And alright AOS. I'll look into some English dubbed versions then!

I can't remember how I first saw Eva ,if it was on A,S for abit but I got a 4 DVD set up to Ep 14 like 8-10 years ago just found e'm again :)

Newbie alert!!

Hey all, I recently started getting into anime. Im starting off with Neon Genesis Evangelion... And I LOVE IT. Could anyone suggest some similar animes that I could begin to watch after I finish watching this one?

I would call you a legend...unless you hate Asuka. NGE was the second anime I watched after returning to watching anime (the first being Initial D).

Once you're finished with NGE, try Serial Experiments Lain.

Don't bother with dubs unless you hate reading the subtitles. Voice acting is as much a part of a show as the visuals, and if you watch it dubbed you'll have a completely different experience with the show from those who watched it subbed.

That Sean guy is pretty funny, but he was right about NGE.

How can you hate Asuka?!

I will look into it!

Eureka Seven

Also if you watch that, don't bother with the "sequel" Eureka Seven AO. It's a torturing device that needs to be killed with lots and lots of fire.

Could this be a sign Artland will be making something again? They have been doing assistant work only since the Katekyo Hitman Reborn! anime ended two years ago.

Also season 2 of Mushi-Shi? The gods have answered our prayers.
