3 giant solar reactors. The first 5 Gundams have legit prototype solar drives. Miniature, but well over a few meters big.
 
Instead of arguing about Gundam, you guys could just watch NGE or Yosuga no Sora. Problem solved.
 
So...here's a good question: How come Ichigo has a girl's name? In Japanese, his name means Strawberry....why? Why did his...you know what, considering Ichigo's dad, it makes some sense.

Character development, story, world-crafting. That's why the shows that focus least on the mecha themselves are the best; F91, 0080, 08th MST, Z, Turn-A, and the ones that are the most mecha-focused are the worst; 0083, SEED, 00, etc. I love Wing for nostalgia reasons (it's the show that got me into anime) but a recent rewatch shows it to be pretty mediocre, too.

For similar reasons, SDF Macross is better than any Gundam series and Five Star Stories, Dragonar, and Patlabor are better than most.

As much as I want to argue about you hating disliking 00 and 0083, you brought up the most perfect point ever that I just want to now kiss your feet and have your babies.

If there's one thing I could add, if you don't mind, the original Gundam (0079) probably was able to balance the focus on mecha and everything else the best. My opinion though. :lol:

My favorite Gundam shows would in order would inclued
08MST was very good indeed it had a great story and the action and felt very realistic both to the original Gundam and to its animation and IRL qualities .

I like 0083 SM very well actually it was the second Gundam show I saw after Wing and I still like it due to its characters and story which I thought was only barely second to 08MS.
0080 WITP was short but had a very cool and clever story to it .

The original itself 0079 MSG had a good story near its end and had a good dramatic quality to it despite its shabby animation and effects but even given its age it could of been better but it must of had a low budget at the time it was animated. Its movie aswell was very good.

Wing also being the 1st Gundam I saw had on ok story not that great but it was a very well planned and sleightly over scripted story but it had a nice level of drama to it but it,
but was not as good & its 4th place in my list .

I havent seen F91 and Zeta yet but from the short bits I have seen of it
I would struggle to place it any better or worse than Wing.
Anything made after Wing (SEED & 00) are very likely to be not of any interest to me.
All the other Id also say the same for . (I have yet to look into A Turn yet )

just to add,
Looking back at page 2315 I assumed it being the future and all that Mobile suits had some sort of futuristic power source like what iron man has for a quick example but Nuclear is a bit more down to earth I suppose.

I'll actually add to my opinion of 00 - I didn't mind the first season, actually. It's the second season that totally killed it for me. I liked that they kept the same Gundams for most of the first season instead of turning it into "MS of the week", but S2 totally turned around and ended up just like SEED in that there were new Gundams every four or five episodes. The plot also went totally crazy, and the fact that they added so many characters lead to some of the better stories and characters being almost forgotten and gaps of three or four episodes between developments of any individual plot thread. Aside from Setsuna, who still didn't get that much stuff, every plotline only got maybe three episodes worth of content at most.

0079 balanced it quite well. I think Zeta outdoes it, though. Zeta also has the Hyaku-Shiki, which I think is the coolest "Gundam" of them all. (It's technically a Gundam prototype.) It's designed by Mamoru Nagano, who also created Five Star Stories, which I'm a big fan of.

F91's only flaw is that it was too good to be a movie, and things are rushed. Other than that, it has cool mecha, an interesting plot, and the most likable, least messed up main characters of any Gundam series.

0083.... man.... The characters are all totally unhinged and make constant irrational decisions, the plot is full of holes, and the whole thing contradicts previously established canon about later Gundam series.

For me, the pinnacle of classic Mecha still has to be Macross, and especially Do You Remember Love. DYRL is absolutely spectacular, and in my opinion it's probably the best-looking anime ever made. Every single frame of that whole movie is a hand drawn work of art that looks like the magazine/artbook illustrations of any other series. Modern digital animation has made it super easy to make really high-quality animation, but it can never quite match DYRL.

I'll have to watch it again I was maybe 15 when I saw it , But even when I saw 08MS just a year later I still thought 0083 was near as good.

but ive seen alot of bits on youtube and it seems it wont be to long before I see it.

I went and watched that too. T'was alright definitely. People have said made in the same way as that show too.

After thinking long and hard about it, you have to be either obsessed with sculpting or a die-hard point-of-no-return Lolicon to own a Melty PVC like that.
 
You think the Melty PVC is bad, Volks is about to release a Dollfie Dream of her. Everybody I know is freaking out because she's the first elf-eared one. I, meanwhile, could care less, the only character that could get me to buy another one is Kuroneko.

BT -> Just finished the 1st episode of Ano Natsu de Matteru, I was impressed! Although not as dramatic as Onegai Teacher, I'm still liking the OST! The sci-fi stuff? I don't mind it too much as long it doesn't bother the storyline too much like Mahoromatic. :)
