oekaki is an online forum like this, except you just draw instead of write. theres no real general topic like gran turismo people just go there to draw. it started as a japanese only site then went to english text as well.

the website is using a java applet similar to photoshop. it requires a tablet or some serious mouse/touchpad drawing skills. the applet is pretty simple and drawing are limited to 300x300, 200x200, to save space (*.png format).

you can even start your own themed threads. for instance i started a bakkayoma.com thread ( nobody posts there )or make ones paying tribute to your fav character/animes (there are gundam oekaki boards,flcl,mkre,ect). the competitions showcase some true oekaki talent.

i find it my greatest source of inspiration....and competition there are soo many artists in there with a ton of talent and creativity. i look up to every one of them even its a line drawing.

I am thinking of being a tad more serious about it though. I mean, I've been drawing since I was 4 and never really paid much attention to it. Lately, though, I'm getting more and more into it. And since I am taking up Multimedia Arts (Webdesign) at school right now, I might be putting up a site or something. Just random BS that I'd have nowhere else to put.

thats a pretty good idea, a friend of mine did absolutely no studying. however he was soo actively listening in class there was no point in doing homework or any other free~time school crap.
not really the same case on this end
if i didn't show up to school *high* the instructors thought something was wrong.

lets see, baught a sketch book a week ago, it's pages are stll untouched (lacking inspiration, one of NK4E's drawisn inspired me to draw my celica doing a drift, but just as hands on a human are impossible to draw, so are tires to a car) dont ask why....

Tires I'd blame it on perspective; hands... they're just too damn 'complex'.

although hard, hands are the language of the body. they can define a character's momentary feelings. whether they be clasped, frivilous, open wide, fisted, pointing.
