Okay, we all know about GT5's track editor feature. What do you think of making a long, straight track for drag racing online? If you like the idea leave your PSN ID.

If you have any suggestions for regulations post them in the thread.
 
Dude I believe there is already a gt5 drag related thread. Anyways I'm down.
 
That's a good idea, discussed berfore but still. Make a 1/2 mile and a 1/4 mile and we're all good. Racing something like the Trans-Cammer 'Stang would be perfect! :cool:

The other thread is about making a track for GTP though, not about drag racing.

An LFA? What a strange choice for a drag race.

I like the idea, not sure if it will be possible to implement. The course maker areas all seem pretty hilly, not sure if you can get a flat 1/2 mile section. If you can, it would definitely add a nice feature that is glaringly omitted (so far) from GT5. Now if only they had tuning options available for drag racing as well.
 
I said I would be shocked if there wasn't any drag racing...but it seems there isn't so I'm down. I would love a drag race feature but if you just made your track one section and added no turns it should work. Lets hope for drag racing being adding in DLC.

Where is that? I mean the only one I saw was the one about the GTP track, not about online drag racing. Please link me to it if it indeed exists.
 
I don't think that we'll be able to make a realistic drag strip on the track editor, but I'd love to run a few passes at somewhere like the frontstretch at indy.
 
I spend most of the time drag racing with my friends on GT4... Betting bears and averyting :cheers:

To bad there isn't even 1/4 mile testing in GT5
 
or what about hosting an online track day using either the SS7 or La Sarthe track for drag racing? We can use the built in horn or headlights to launch from a roll too. I think the possibilities are there.

I don't get why they couldn't have just added the runway from Top Gear as the top speed/drag area :(
 
Dragging would be fun, just another thing to do..

If there isn't a working tree, or atleast some kind of timing system, it would be pointless. Tho i think the Top Gear test track will do well for drag racing.

Hence the Top Gear test track..It's straight is like 1.4 miles? That's plenty of road. Also Sarthe's Straight is even longer than that! So i don't really think will be lacking for straights lol.

But as for being able to make one, i doubt that. The tracks are all "pre-generated".

Having drag races would be fun, but we haven't seen anything drag racing related, and I think that we have once again been stiffed on a legit drag racing mode. And probably won't have any tracks to participate on other than the TGTT.
 
Voted bad idea because although I appreciate the difficulty in drag racing at a real quarter mile, in a videogame there's really not much challenged involved in looking at a dial and pressing a button. Additionally, I have a feeling you have to make a circuit with the track editor and there's no way to make just a long straightaway.

Longest will probably be SSR7 or the straight on Nordschleife. Doubt we will be able to make straights longer with the track generator. There won't be enough control in it to do so.
 
I think this is a Good idea.
