HELMET LIVERIES

THIS FORTNIGHT'S THEME

This week, we're creating a big car from a small element. Last winner @autonomous set this theme, here are the details :

"Time to polish your helmets! For this week's LEC, your task is to create a livery inspired by helmet designs

Whether it's your favourite driver, or you just like the helmet design, anything goes, so long as it's based upon a real-world professional racing driver helmet design.

Good luck!"

CARS :
- No restrictions.

LIVERIES :
- Inspired by past or present racing driver helmet designs.

UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS :
- None
- Does not need to be Sport Mode compatible.

BONUS PICTURE SETTINGS :
- Up to Two Bonus Pictures allowed.
- May include driver, but not mandatory. If, so, driver must have same helmet design as car.

USER MADE DECALS :
- No restrictions.

GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

ENTRY SUBMISSION

- The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet, click here
- Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
- Unsure how to? Copy and paste the following:
Code:
[COLOR=red][B]FINAL ENTRY[/B][/COLOR]
- One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
- You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
- Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
- Absolutely no entries which utilize edited/hacked file saves.

- Winner gets to choose the following Fortnight's theme.
- Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
- The Host may ask for the original image/livery and it must be submitted if so.
- It's recommended to share the original livery online (in-game) to prove it’s your work.
- Winner, second and third places will have to share the links of the liveries for the Hall of Fame thread

ENTRY PRESENTATION

- All images shall have preview images which may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction (main and bonus pictures)
- You have to post two main pictures of your entry using the mandatory locations and settings as shown below
- You are allowed to post two bonus pictures in a spoiler with free location and settings (unless the unique restrictions of the week’s theme specify something else)
- You have to make one post with ONLY the 4 pictures and the FINAL ENTRY mark. If you want to add precisions/background story/links, you are allowed to double-post under your entry. The best way to do it will be to "reply" to your own post.

- It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr
- Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
- A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
- Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it; it makes poll creation much easier!
- No heavy post-game editing, slight enhancing is allowed.

MANDATORY PICTURES

- You have to post a front quarter view and a rear quarter view of your car.
- You can choose between the Shiretoko 03 location or the White Sands 01/09 locations. No other location will be allowed for the main pics.

If it's your first entry or if you struggle with the picture settings, have a look at the tutorials below :

Loved the theme because I'm sure I'll be amazed by what you guys can craft, but this is another one I'll just watch develop: I'm unable to design helmets in this game.

I would go as far as to say that helmet design in GTSport is impossible and people who can design them, specially those gorgeous ones on the Discovery session and on my feed, are all liars .

You don't have to design helmets : you just have to create a CAR livery inspired by the helmet design.

It'll be quite close if I can make it to this one or not, but at least I've got some idea of what I'm gonna do. Hopefully it's not too ambitious as it is a detail-heavy overdesigned modern helmet!

Based on Sir Chris Hoys helmet (see photo in previous post)

I love the helmet design although basic but I don’t have much time these next 2 weeks so thought I’d put one together whilst I can

I’m pretty happy with how it came out I think it looks quite clean

hope you all enjoy

Back at home finally.
At first, I wanted to make the black&yellow Renault helmet but couldn't get a good result with the gradient.
With this one, strokes around the "hulk", "27" and the lightning look messy but this is how they look on the helmet. It was annoying to make and it would probably be better with clean strokes. And I had to turn upside down (not sure it's the right translation) the lightning.
And I thought the DBR9 would be the perfect car because of the fuel valve :) (and of course Aston Martin...)

Having literally just finished a Gr3 AMG based on Hamilton’s helmet I thought to make it a genuine entry for this LEC I should go with the 2020 special design theme and add Bottas’ chrome blue version.

Team Mercedes 2020 in driver helmet colours.

Post includes gold detailed helmet I made when Hamilton wrapped up the 2020 title.
