DP use different engine's.
I confirmed mine was a Lexus 5.0.
Redbull has said his engine is a Chevrolet 5.0.
The rest haven't spoken of it, so by default, Infiniti 5.0.

May switch to Honda or race the GT class next season. Not for sure yet. Still working things out at the moment.

Polar, I might be a reserve next season as well. I think it would be cool if we had reserves that are assigned to a specific car/team instead of being a general reserve for everyone. Just to add a more realistic twist to the RSCS.

^+1, I'm more into teams championships and being a reserve for everyone is a little bit confusing.

Yes being I like driving for a team even as a reserve and not for myself or multiple teams.

Yea, no.

Magically, we all use Nissan engines... In Nissan cars!

Nissan has a monopoly on the DP class? LoL they aren't even American made! Must be magical or something.... Hehe

Some people may take the whole DP thing too serious. I mean before it was Group C Nissans, Toyotas and Saubers .

Well "magically", I changed my engine to Lexus :sly: I brought it, I can do what I want with it. Nissan engines aren't even DP eligible.

I think at Monaco DP will have a minimum time everyone must get to be able to race.

That way DP and GT aren't mixing and making a mess.

OHH COME ON!!!
That counts me out. The ones that are slow stay usually cause the least crashes then the pro's at a pack.

But this week you won't be by yourself, you'll be in the GT race...

1. What are the time difference between DP and GT.
2. I got better at Tokyo if you remember.
3. Seems unfair you'll be not allowing people to race because they're slow.

Yea we still have the required DP framing and our cars are well within the requirements for the series so I don't see a problem LoL

I'm slow but I'm clean and I try not to hold anyone up... But this is Polars series and he will have the final word on regulation.

But if you sign up for DP you should be able to race DP. If the series doesn't want slower drivers in the DP class they need to take care of that before the season starts.

1. Less than Tokyo, so less than 6 seconds.
2. It was just harder for us to get past at Tokyo. Sorry, but I'm being honest.
3. It's not unfair. Is it unfair when NASCAR does it to a handful of teams?

Thing is, the tracks we've visited so far have been pretty easy to get past people, and have had straights long enough that the DP's could use their HP advantage to pull away. Monaco doesn't have long straights at all. Lapping is going to be very hard here because the DP's don't have much front downforce, so the cornering speeds are very close. This means that we have to do most of our lapping on straights, which Monaco doesn't have.

The minimum time means that there won't be a DP in the middle of the GT field.

Understood but instead of taking away someone's privilege to race, I would recommend that you make all of the GT cars use the high line in corners and "pull over" to let the DPs by. That's what I am asked to do when I'm racing MX in real life and it works out pretty well. Racers who don't abide are black flagged.

I tested both and I was exactly 5 seconds faster in the DP.

Mx is different, when you let someone go it's usually when you're being lapped, right? In Rolex, there are two different classes both trying to win, so you can't really ask the GT guys to give up valuable time to let the DPs have the inside. They are in a totally different race. Also, sometimes it's difficult to judge the closing speed in braking zones and there are a lot of low speed corners at Monaco where the GT cars won't really be all that much slower than the DP, if at all.

Understood. I just wish now the DP drivers knew what they were getting into with lapping the GTs and it happens in real life. It's a part of the racing. I just don't feel that someone should be booted to the GT class because they are slow. What if GT is full anyway? Do they not get to race?

No one would be moved to GT.

GT isn't a "lesser" class, it's just slower.

If a DP driver doesn't make it, they don't race.

I guess I'm a GT driver now lol. And how would this going to solve the lappers issue again? I don't really get it still

Curse you! Just because I P.I.T. maneuvered trying to overtake someone in last season's Spa :sly:

It prevents the possible issue that I will be gunning to overtake you and Cyan (assuming you're in DP cars) at Monaco. That's in what is probably the slowest car (except the Gaz rocket-ship tune).

Besides, after Spa I doubt GT will get lapped by DP. The time difference would have DP lapping GT only once, and with the caution count at Tokyo & even Spa? Not happening.

Well you will still be trying to gun me down in the safety car. 10 points makes a difference in RSCS bumper cars!

I reckon it'd be interesting to see how the GT guys would be having a slower DP in the mix.

The gap is actually more like 7 seconds between DP. The faster drivers of DP are usually a second quicker than I am at any track if I test in their cars, and on average the gap is 5-6 seconds between DP and GT here. As long as there's at least some consistency with around 3 seconds gap per lap, things should be fine. If a DP guys is 5 seconds slower and not very consistent, GT won't be happy with them, because it means that they could end up being 7-8 seconds off DP times on average....

Well, lapping should be interesting, considering the GT cars can put their power down a lot easier than the DP's can.

I don't agree with the slow racer elimination on this one. I was hoping to race but id rather drive the SC with that system.

I think it's fair. If the GT race gets ruined by a car that should be half a lap ahead it will be pretty annoying.

Exactly.
