I think it's fair. If the GT race gets ruined by a car that should be half a lap ahead it will be pretty annoying.

Well the track makes the DPs slower. It's not necessarily the drivers fault. Maybe next season we won't have this situation but the driver should not be eliminated because the track is slower for them

We could raise the HP limit for the DP cars this race only as well. I see this as a plausible solution to the problem.

It's not going to be impossible to make the time... You and resh are freaking out thinking that you guys won't be able to make the race. Meanwhile you didn't know how to adjust the transmission yesterday and Resh said he doesn't practice.

Once you figure the car stuff out you'll be fine. If resh practiced he would be fine too.

Edit: if anything reducing the HP would make them quicker here.

I'm not in the championship points so I'm not going to flip tables and chairs over this. I just think there are better solutions to the situation. But you have the final say and I will have to respect that.

Edit: Do you know what the minimum time for DP will be? And if I can't achieve that am I still allowed to race GT providing that there is room?

You might if there's room.

Well, I did practice for Suzuka and Tokyo. I cannot practice now since I'm om vacation.
Anyway, I do think it's unfair when NASCAR do it.

I'm probaby out again this week as I am having to go to my bosses daughters wedding Saturday evening.

I'm tempted to say hell with it, and just run normally. If there's problems, GT just have to grow some balls and deal with it. Not being funny though, if any DPs are so far off pace that GT is catching, don't expect GT to keep yielding to you.

That's probably what will happen. If anyone is mad about the out come;

You didn't like my idea...

You :censored:ing kidding me. Your life is pushing you away from all of the races.

Yea no kidding. I'm missing the best season yet too.

+1

Its not disrespectful or unfair to ask for a cap on the slowest possible DP time, simply because of how small the gap is between the classes if you consider the FASTEST DP times and the FASTEST GT times; roughly 5-7 seconds. But whatever, I'm prepared to see the butterfly effect.

If someone is not good enough or dangerous enough in a prototype, restrict them to one class. Done that in WSC, we've got cars with 20 second lap differences at Daytona Road, and 50mph top speed differences, and some drivers just aren;t allowed nearer the top machinery.

An artificial cap seems a little pointless in all honesty.

I agree with that if a driver is too dangerous but just because they're not as fast, COME ON!!!

My Global GT just do a Pro and Am class but there is also an Overall Cup.

Funny you would say this.

Thing is, the two can go hand in hand.

In my point of view, slower drivers are expected to let faster ones by without trouble in most cases that is what happens according to my observations. Even in the public lobbys.

We're talking two vastly different classes here though...

This isn't the difference between GT Pro and GT Am, this is DP and GT, two vastly different classes. Having one DP guy running the same times as GT creates a ripple through GT, wherein the GT then have to fight not only themselves, but a car superior in a straight line and certain corners, or at least is supposed to be...

Its bad enough knowing we GT guys get out of certain corners faster than DP, making even the all-too-common lapping a noteworthy concern. To navigate through GT traffic is a skill, as is being able to fight for position AND allow DP to lap safely. Imagine having to do that constantly? Can only raise the bar so far...

What if the slower driver of the faster class is barely as fast as the faster drivers in the slower class? What then?

It depends on the circumstances. If the DP is managing to stay in front of them without interference then so be it. This happens at Road Atlanta with the S curves as well. Drivers have to be patient. If the DP car is in the middle of a GT battle and appears to be getting in the way then yes the DP should let the GTs by and then proceed. It's happened time and time again even in MX but its a part of the race in my eyes.

A rules I thought in multi class racing was always that it was the duty of the faster class car to find his way around the slower cars, even if it means sitting behind for a full complex of turns to get a chance to.

Yea, but were talking about if a DP is only as fast as a GT.

I wouldn't mind having a battle with GT. I wouldn't carenif we were in different classes.

..................

You must be joking. Even if you aren't, the guy that's leading the GT race isn't going to be pleased when a driver in the faster class is holding him up.

I'm going to make a lounge later in a week for Monaco for the GT guys. We need to cover the angle at the centre of current discussions, so I'm going to simulate a DP running GT times, and y'all can have a 5 lap race while I'm in the mix.

Ill try to be there too. I know how they race ;)

I'm not going to hold it up. If I see that a GT is going faster I'll let him pass.

Well, I have to wait till Friday to see what Times I'll do. If you do go on with this plan, how about eliminating the DP that can't go faster then the top GT.

Polar had suggested that plan; that's what the last few pages of heated discussion stemmed from. At least, I think so....

How about a split race if we have really slow DP. Two shorter races. That way, we don't have mad gt drivers because our DP drivers aren't any good.

I think at Monaco DP will have a minimum time everyone must get to be able to race.

That way DP and GT aren't mixing and making a mess.
Ah, here it is....

I see what ya did there...

No two races.

And resh I SAID THAT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!
