Great races! first races was more exciting over the whole race and i just missed out on second (maybe would have caught up on last lap if time wouldn't have run out) but first lap of second race was great. :)
 
Yeah, was fun even though it didn't end up quite as planned!

What happened with team Porsche quick? Did you leave cos it wasn't challenging? lol

I've set my car to share if anyone wants to have a go.

First race finish time was 1:05:34.379 second was 1:04:33.139 Camaro finishing in first and I believe Cobra came in second overall ( I thought you'd finished second in both races ) ? Do you have both replays Phouch?
I've sent you your 1000 ticket, I'll send the others Mon/ Tues.




Edit: yeah Phouch a longer finish time would have been in order in hindsight, something I'll give more thought in future.

The cobra got 3rd in the first race, though I must admit... He caught me right on the backstretch, and in case you lads hadn't heard, me and Lance were only topping our challengers out at around 165mph. You both were hitting 180's. So I suspect the cobra would've nipped me for second.

I have the first race replay if anyone wants it? I think Lance got the second one...

Andy... the event was great, so much so that lance and I have modeled our manufacturers race after it (team concept) though it is much different in principle. Its a shame that this event was split because of the PSN outage... but thats life right?

Hopefully no one took any offense to anything we said. We only meant good fun.

Vdub92, my CTR goes near 4-5 laps at 1 tyres set.
It depends on your set-ups

I represented the Jaguar team for the second race for you Schaden. I even crashed into my own teammate on the backstretch at 180 just for the heck of it. That said... my Jag is a nightmare (its online if anyone wants to drive it) the tune is GREAT, I'm just not used to driving it... so I believe I was 2 or 3 laps (out of 8) down by the end.

Yeah, I maxed mine out and tried it online. I wouldn't describe it as a nightmare exactly, but it is a handful :)
 
My little cobra is online as well.. and that is not "a great tune" just something i threw together 5 minutes ahead of the race.. i'll have to test ej's car and see if it's better or if he is just better :P or did you test ej/hondandy?

In the first race i thought i would only be able to make one lap so i pitted after the first lap, that kind of lost me the second place in the race. Because of that i had to pit four times on lap 1,3,5 and 7 while my competitor stopped every third lap on lap 3 and 6..

I think you should set up your car for more understeer. It helps to save tyres.
As I said my CTR goes 4-5 laps, but without setups it goes 2-3 laps.
It also depends on your driving style.
 
Well i have no idea how to set up cars.. only had like 20 minutes to do it ahead of the race and it didn't really get better than before when i hadn't even changed the suspension..

I'd like to see the replays if possible evo :)

I was thinking of an alternate structure for this when we were racing, which was to have teams but just one race so you'd potentially have 2 of each car in the same race and a bigger field. For teams of two work out the average finish time.

Qu1ck what tune did you use on suspension?

I tuned chassis for understeer and suspension was soft for better grip.
 
I think the turnout was a lot lower than expected.. we were 7 out of 14 when we were at maximum. then some disappeared and we got very few in the races.. all probably because of this stupid psn outage.

edit: ok out of 11 since some said they couldn't come ahead of the race. but Vdub92 weren't you supposed to stay for the second race as well? ^^ since you were alone in the ferrari team ;)

I want to try this out on perhaps 5th June ( Sun ) who's free then? Maybe do 10-12 laps this time as it's one race? And have an 8 min ending time, if you can do that much?

Oh no problem. I've been extremely busy but I'll see if I can't get them to you tonight or tomorrow...

Also, about the alternate format... yeah, that's how my manufacturers championship series is being run, but I added a points system to make it a little more straight forward...

Feel free to check it out... we may still need a few members if a few don't show...
 
Not to spoil it for you but i don't think evos replays will work for andy.. evo's american and andy's brittish?

Can you put me in reserve on Honda? Had a quick look and thought you might want to group Acura and Honda together though since Acura is just one NSX.

Haha... there are like 20 posts in that thread about people suggesting to group here or there...

I'll add you with Honda.

Acura has more cars that are standard, but the reason that we haven't grouped the manufacturers is because they could be competitive on their own and we wanted to offer as many individually unique teams as possible, while making use of the most cars possible.

Ultimately I'd love to continue narrowing it down, so the next season you can only select a manufacturer that hasn't been used yet, and so forth. Ultimately, when all manufacturers are exhausted, take the winners from each championship, and get them in a grand championship to eventually crown the "best manufacturer" in game.
 
Hey andy i borrowed your car and tried it out in a one make race on nür (since i couldn't take it to my lobby and i wanted tyre wear) and wow it's incredible i loove the set up, so perfect, i would have thought it was on racing tyres if i didn't know better :P i only races two laps and on the first i drove really bad and spun several times, not because of the car except that it maybe made me a little overconfident ^^ that meant my tyres were pretty worn out when entering the second lap but it didn't matter it felt so good anyways and i clocked a time of 7:52 eventhough i spun once that lap as well..

You have to try my car it's soooo badly set up, i wish i knew how to set up cars :(

I don't know how I missed the standard models Evo- just checked my garage quickly before I posted, anyway I'll read through the thread for that race series..

Cheers Phouch :) I was going to max out that car but instead I might leave that one around that power and buy another to fully mod. That's a good time especially with an off! I tried setting a clean lap with every car and I've got between 7:53.7 in Challenger to 8:11.2 in the E-type.
I had a go in your cobra the other day, did a clean first lap over 8 mins then had a go with different suspension settings and got a 7:59 clean lap.
Cobra, 911 and Jag are the most handful of the bunch I reckon.
 
Yeah it felt real good with this much power, no need to max it ;) oh didn't know my lap was that good, but that off, even though i spun around completely i recovered well and only lost a couple of seconds because of the loss of speed.

But over to my cobra, what did you do to it? i had no idea what to do and was very low on time so i only lowered and stiffened it a bit (which i don't even know if it was right) but didn't really feel much difference. Also with the cobra, i forgot to fix the transmission, the car topped out several times on the long straight ^^ could have made the gears a little bit longer, just a tiny bit and it wouldn't have done that :P

But i guess it will always be harder to control than the challenger :)
 
Just put suspension all the way down, bigger anti roll bars and some negative camber. I can't remember how much for the camber, but I'm no expert I just mess about with those settings and see how it affects under/ oversteer really. On the Camaro though I altered the LSD slightly as well but I have to learn more about LSD tuning.
 
all the way down and big roll bars? i thought you were supposed to have a low car with tight springs and **** but low numbers on roll bar.. think i read it somewhere.. but since my tuning never works i'm probably wrong ^^
