November? tsk...cursed NTSC people....us Europeans didn't get GT1 until late spring!

Anyway I still remember the day I bought it....and HSR was where I spent the next 6 months. Okay, so I did race the other tracks but my memories of GT will always be driving round HSR in my orange/red GTO to Sweet 16 by Feeder.

Possibly the bridge replaces that walled in section after the first (?) bend - the bit with the diagonal yellow lines across half the track. That's my reckoning anyway, they probably put the walls in there because they were trying to eliminate pop-up on the PS1.

:D

Yeah, I think the bridge that they've got in there is really cool. I loved the track in GT1, and now that the graphics are MUCH better, and the scenery is a lot more beautiful and realistic, this track is better than ever!:D:D

Exactly. And I'm missing that. It was part of the spirit of the original HSR and it should be there for the full nostalgic effect.

I'm not trying to come up with something totally off of this track, but Red Rock Valley is a nice GT challenge. And sure, it's two ovals, but if you think about it, it's about the best way to please oval racers while trying to provide a high-speed road race.

Now back to High Speed Ring. I like what I see with this track. Whenever you have a sequel to a game, you almost always have some sort of graphical enhancements to a track. While the High Speed Ring in both GTs 1 and 2 aren't much different. With GT4 to include one of the original Gran Turismo tracks, the track will no doubt get a shot in the arm in graphical detail. If we've seen the new-look Grand Valley, surely the new High Speed Ring will look more enhanced and rich. You can't say enough about the work it took to make the track more presentable than it is already. And as I said, it really looks like a bit of an FIA-grade track now. We don't really know much about changes in detail, but if you've seen Special Stage Route 11 in GT3, anything can be changed. I personally liked SSR11's looks in GT1 than GT3, but we noticed changes like the alternative route, the different style tunnel after crossing the bridge, and let's not forget about the big ferris wheel. If GT3's styling changes mean anything, we'll see a totally revised High Speed Ring. I would like to see something like tailgaters and people with their "chair-in-a-bag" chairs (for example: http://www.campingworld.com/browse/...subOf=&skunum=26040&src=UPSE&affiliateid=1550) enjoying the race. It's going to be a pretty nice track to see and do some racing action.

Red Rock Valley could be made better by removing the crossover. This way, after the first corner you turn right instead of left at the chicane and go down the to small oval. You then swing around left and follow the road back up to the chicane and have another long banked turn that takes you down through the tunnel. The fix up that stupid chicane and the final turn, and you've got yourself a high-speed track with a series of banked curves, all at different radii.

well, i checked that out.............and.......:nervous:.................it said High Speed Link.........:banghead:..........only then, i rememberd it!

I was always wondering how fast i could take the first corner without crashing into the wall.....................so it's great to see these "classic" images back like the one below.

i even tested it yesterday on my old playstation....i still mentioned to put my CRX V-tec thrue this corner with a speed of over 175 km/h :dopey:....and i didn't hit the wall 👍

Can anyone of you guys remember how fast he/she could take this corner with a particular car???

I had a blast on it myself on Tuesday night on the PS2.

By the way, I've probably got a stupid question to ask.

If I play PS1 games on a PS2 console, can I save the games onto a PS2 memory card? LOgic dictates that I can, just looking for confirmation and a flaming :dopey: :dopey:

Unfortunately no. PS1 games save to a PS1 memory card only, PS2 games save to a PS2 memory card only.

So much for logic eh! :)

I'm remembering my 1st track in GT1, and High Speed Ring is my wife top track.
Thanks for the pictures, but I'm sorry to say that the track showed on the pics might be HSR because there is no view that positively and without any doubt identify it as HSR.

I've watched....no videos....so I can't be blamed for being wrong about anything on the topic. I'm just reading what people say and come up with an answer to it. :)

If you watched that one B-Spec video, you'd know beyond a doubt that it was the HSR. It showed the track map!

I didn't watch the video, went to the videos dawnload section, but I don't know which one to download ( no videos title mentions High Speed Ring ).
Of course If you says that it shows the track map, I trust you :)
