I finally won as well after my last try for a long time ago and the 4th place, used the new Ferrari 296 GT3, pitstop in the end of lap 11 and 21, changed to mediums and fuled for 10 laps both times, could gone for 8 laps fuel on the last pitstop.
TC: 3, ASM: On and Countersteering Assistance: Strong and Fuel Map: 1 the whole race.

EDIT: Maybe I did figure this out. The steering shaft in my wheel wasn't attached properly inside the housing. That would account for the inconsistency.
I honestly do not understand this. Ya'll must be running a different version of this than I am.
I can choose certain cars and run 1:55 lap times with them bone stock. Once I get into the race all that goes out the window. If I'm not playing bumper cars with the AI the car won't stay on the track. Any spinouts are 3x worse in the race. If I don't make any mistakes at all the AI just flat runs away.
I'm not prone to tearing up hardware but this time I twisted the steering shaft off my rig trying to correct a spin and am out of most in game events until that's fixed.
This race is a waste of time and hardware. I'd post lap videos but I don't typically record them and I don't think anyone is going to argue with the 1:55 times.
I keep my game set on hard and reduce the difficulty if I have trouble with anything. I don't think it matters in this race.
Either way, there's no point. I have the lap times and a strong knowledge of the course.
Rant over. I'll be back with a new wheel and any other race besides this one.
