thanks for the post! I would like to see some more Bentley Speed 8 and Sauber C9 photos please! DAM, i cant wait till March 9th! I see your favourite car seems to be the Toyota GT-One, post up more images of that if you wish! If anyone has got GT4, please mention which is favourite Le Man car!

PS. What year did they put the chicanes down the mulsane straight?

GT Freak!
  Well....im lost. It amazes me how much people now about cars! So basically is the car in GT4 the car in Sambertos second picture the 88-cv which raced in the Japanese Prototype championship and NOT at Le Mans? My head hurst! :) So how did the 88C-V do in the JPC? 1st, 2nd, 3rd?
Yes, the second image is the 88C-V included in GT4.

Results:
1988 All Japan Sports Prototype Championship.
#3 Tom's 86C-Toyota - Round 1 (DNF), Round 2 (DNF), Round 3 (14th)
#3/#45 Toyota 87C - Round 4 (DNF), Round 5 (13th), Round 6 (DNF)
#36 Toyota 88C - Round 1 (6th), Round 2 (DNF), Round 3 (6th)
#36 Toyota 88C-V - Round 4 (DNF), Round 5 (16th), Round 6 (22nd)
#37 Toyota 88C - Round 1 (7th), Round 2 (5th), Round 3 (10th), Round 4 (DNF), Round 5 (5th)
#37 Toyota 88C-V - Round 6 (21st)
#50 SARD MC88S-Toyota - Round 2 (10th), Round 3 (11th), Round 4 (6th), Round 5 (DNF), Round 6 (DNF)

As you can see, the 88C-V does not have a competition history of distinction. I’m surprised that PD did not opt to include the 4 cill 88C, as it was the first Toyota to be classified at Le mans. Nonetheless, I find the 88C-V to be the most handsome and interesting of the Toyota group C cars.

I do think that the 88C-V does look the slickest late 80's prototype, the Sauber also looks nice but i think the front looks stubby and rear wing looks like an after thought! The toyota also shows signs of showing the design followed by the same class into the mid 90's! Lokks rahter simlilar to the Porsche Dauer 962. Thanks for that Le Sarthe into, realy good!

PS. Samberto, if you are able to host some videos of the Le Mans cars, that would be great, i havnt seen a video of the 88C-V yet and i am interested to hear and see it go! 👍

GT, the US intro shows the Toyota racing by and you can hear it. Not a long one like you want, but something you can hear. :)

thanks for the pics! i love the c9, as all the othercars. i though i saw a 956but i was wrong lol, next they need the porsche 917k, 956,962 ultimate enduro cars of all time, and in diffeent eras, sadly the 917 was banned :guilty: ive been waitin for a game with 80's enduro cars now its here!!!! btw the bently and gtone shot is sweet (made by the same disigner can u believe it :) lol)

well the 88C was perhaps more succesful but i don´t know i just like the 88C-V more than the 88C or the 89C-V....it´s just the 88C looks for me like a GTS car a bit and not like a Group C.The 89C-V looks not that bad with its rounder "eyes" and it has not that much intakes(which is aerodynamically better but more intakes mean more "muscles")so i think PD chose right to take the 88C-V cause it´s simply THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CAR (except the phenomenal TS010 and of course TS020).....
and perhaps the 88C-V was the most famous Toyota Group C IN JAPAN and all japanese people perhaps liked that car more than the others so that PD makes a pleasure for his "homies"--but that´s just suggestion.....

my personal wish for GT5 or for GT4 "2nd Part"(with online and more cars) would be definetly the TOYOTA TS 010 (the 1992 model please, to race against the
peugeot 905-->also from 1992!)

Yes, I agree with your C9 sentiments. I’m a great deal fonder of the carbon-fibre bodied C11 (as raced by Schumacher)

...and some Race photos:

it's fun to see this Formula one behind all these LM cars. Is the F1 often race with other cars? Please call me down : the F1 is the fastest car in the game, isn't it?

PS : I love the TS010 and the TS020 (GT-one) too but the one I prefer....is the Peugeot 905 evo . I don't understand why PD didn't put the TS010 in the game to compete against the Peugeot 905. What a shame.... :guilty:

You know...This is like a family screenshot.

That's if you look at it right.

I said it once, I say it again, if anyone gets a black F1 GTR, PM me immediately! :)
Nice shot ... but I'd say the "shy kid" is the secret genius ... you know, the one the family can be proud of.

yeah that´s really a shame! :( but perhaps PD keeps the TS010 secret for "THE 2ND GT4" <--the edition with online and some new cars(and perhaps new tracks )so that we Toyota fans say "hey, i must have that add-on, cause i want to drive the beautiful TS010 and want to compare it with the peugeot 905!!!"
...but we´ll have to wait until ehh...autumn?...or is it even summer? dunno let´s hope that PD puts in that famous car cause the TS010 was very competitive! :)

well i prefer the RED one looks more Toyota-like!

I prefer the Toyota 94 C-V then the TS010.Below is a pic. of it.I think the TS010 isn't that impressive what that sort of plate on the rear wheels. The coolest car Toyota ever had in Le Mans was definitely the 800 hp 90C-V.

Not as fast as the 905 but nearly indeed. But when you see that the 905 is 120hp less than a Bentley Speed 8 (what a joke) you can have doubt about the fact that the 905 will be competitive in the game... :yuck:

I'm just commenting on the picture.

But yeah, looks like someone was prepared for LeMans.

Ah, Le Mans cars. I'm not really big on Formula One, but these are by far my favorite race cars in existance. These are some nice pictures I've seen. It's also nice to see our good buddy from Torquay in the house here. It's also nice to see some sportscar facts mentioned (but without "The359?" Kind of strange for some reason...). Another reason why I say that casual fans looking into GT4 should play the past three GT games, just to see how far the series has come. Ever since GT2, car variety has improved, and more exotic machinery stepped up to the plate. I still remember my first encounter with the Toyota GT-One in the final IA License Test. It was an endless love story afterwards, not to mention giving it a Stage 4 [Turbo] and taking down opposition in a "set 'em up, and knock 'em down" basis. Now we get many more sportscars including the debut of open-top prototypes, perhaps one of the most distinctive cars in bigtime sportscar racing (except the Rolex Sports Car series that abandons Le Mans tradition for an all-American package). I'd sure like to Photo Mode a sexy Le Mans racer in beautiful Tokyo. But two lovely ladies are fighting over me, the Toyota GT-One and the Bentley EXP GT. By the way, that Nissan R391? You can unlock it in the somewhat outdated game "Le Mans 24 Hours." It is pretty aerodynamic for a car that never won Le Mans or at least took it to the big dogs.

Post #21: Toyota GT-One and GT-One LOOKALIKE? Remember. One of them won Le Mans. Guess which one.

both were winner cars i think cause the Bentley(Gt-One-like) had NO real competitors(those Audis from 2002, pretty fast but much too slow for that car!)so that it never got under real PRESSURE(cause the perhaps best audi--team UK-- got out of fuel)!!So it was just a easy "drive-it-home" job for bentley , which didn´t returned caus ethey didn´t want to steal the new Audi R9 the show!

and there´s another car leading as dominant as the bentley(even experts said "toyota is gonna make the race!")is the Toyota GT-One:
not that powerful as the Bentley(Bentley: 650PS---Toyota 600PS) but somehow much faster on mulsanne at TOP SPEED(Bentley:330km/h---Toyota:351km/h!!!)
also was the GT-One the FIRST car with a revolutionary "front diffusor", which was never used before; and toyota thought right cause nearly all cars of those years flipped(Mercedes at LM, Porsche and BMW at ALMS)so that every LM Race car went this way ,too....

so you can´t really compare the two(there are 4 years btw)but the GT-One can hold on i think(there´s just a bit power missing)

and for you PINK the TS010 WAS the best car from Toyota except the GT-One! Power isn´t that much important(and if you wish you can tune that sweet, Formular 1 sounding engine EASILY up to 800 PS---it´s a V10 of course :) )
and it´s the aerodynamically best and the most succesful Group C racer of that japanese car producer......

Why do you belive the Bentley had 650bhp? I think that is well above the regulations and power given out by Bentley, 600bhp is the only power reading i now of for the Bentley, along with the GT-One!

In terms of real life how would say the Sauber C9, Toyota 88c-v etc, or any car from around about that period, perform against the more modern Le Man cars like the Audi, Speed 8 etc. All weigh around the same about 900kg and while power has changed from 720bhp to around 600bhp, what is downforce like on the older cars? It gt3 the 787B was faster than the GT-One becase it had more power and had just as much downforce. So if the Sauber would ever compete against the Speed 8 in real life what would be the outcome? Part of me says that the new machines would desimate the older cars due to new technology and understnading of aerodynamics, brakes and downforce may be better due to wind tunnel development. But on the other had downfoce cant exactly be small on the older machine, i mean look at the 747 size rear wings most have! I ask as maybe someone with more knoledge these cars may be able to tell me!

EDIT:Just watched the US intro and the 88C-V sounded awsome, Distinctky better than the other cars racing with it! NICE!

Indeed, the Bentley EXP speed 8 won Le Mans but the GT-one was faster on one lap.
Besides we can eaisliy find where bentley's designors found their inspiration to draw the EXP speed 8. It's clearly the same concept as the GT-one.
BTW the TS010 was faster than the TS020 on a LeMans lap.
Anyway the fastest one is neither the bentley nor the GT-one and nor the sauber C9, it's the Peugeot 905LM. Remember that Alliot make 3'21 to run a lap in Le Mans.
Impressive isn't it? :)

PS : don't you think the 905 had a front diffusor too?
I'm kind to think that the GT-one is the child of the 905 since the conceptor is the smae one : André de Cortanze.

hey GT Freak!, the Toyota GT-One WAS the first car with front diffusor at Le mans, believe me, and not the Peugeot! i know the Peugeot is impressive but the TS010 wsan´t slower in anyway, the team of Peugeot was just better at their "home race"(and it isn´t surprising that a FRANCE team has a big advantage in contrast to a japanese at a FRANCE race!)!!!
so the TS010 was as fast as the 905 that´s why Le Mans at that time(92, 93) was very exciting cause nobody knew if it is "Toyota" or "Peugeot"...)

and coming to downforce:
yeah the Group C cars had very big wings and were very aerodynamic, but the newer LM Cars are as fast as the older ones WITHOUT that much power! the newer technology and better aerodynamic(front diffusor) made the cars just faster than the older ones...
and you can´t really compare a big rear wing with a very complex and effective front diffusor, which brought the LM Cars very near to F1 conditions in terms of "downforce".
so the Lm Cars are not better than the Group Cs but they´re as fast as C9, 787B, etc. and if GT-One & co. had more power there would be NO chance for the old cars! but they´re really impressive...

Horse Power, those pictures that you have called the "c9" is actualy the "c11", shown earlier. It is an updated version of the c9 raced in the next year le mans.

Does anyone have any photos of their le mans cars taken from the roof camera otherwise known as the bonnet view? I have only seen a few pictures of cars using this view, wondering if anyone could supply us with some Audi R8, Bentley Speed 8 etc taken from this on board camera view. Thanks!

I know the Tyrell 6 didn't stand a chance of getting in but I sure could of made it beyond exceptable if it did!

It was me that said that the 905 was faster not GT Freak ;)
Indeed, the TS010 was nearly as fast as the 905 but the pole position has been done in '92 and '93 by a 905 with the fantastic 3'21 record. Besides in 93 the victory was not doubtful....
Moreover, the WSC was dominated by the 905, but I don't know if the TS010 was running in it so....
I mean the fastest LM car in GT4 must be the 905, I hope it's the case but according to what I heard it won't be.... :guilty:
