cnd, if you want to talk about Grand Am, do it in the Grand Am thread. Don't come here and hate on the sport we love.
Seth, don't feed the trolls.

To be fair it's both types of sports car racing and the fighting is really annoying.. Aren't we all here due to a common interest..? :)

As long as we agree that Corvette is better than Viper... :D

And does anyone else pull for the Falken Tire Porsche? They always seem like the underdog (and maybe that's why I pull for them). They were right near the bottom of qualifying at Sebring, and they're pace wasn't the best (as usual), but they ran a smart race with no major issues and pulled out a podium.

Couldn't agree more. The fact it looks cool helps aswell ;)

Yeah I like FP. I actually didn't have live timing up so I thought they got some kind of post-season/pre-season breaks for their car, and I also thought Viper got some concessions. I just don't see how practice alone gets you that quick in that amount of time. But still it's cool either way, I prefer there to be good competition.

The same size tires as the other GTE cars. Viper had issues with their traction control last year that's been resolved. BTW- here's the new 911 (991) RSR-

When one post isn't enough, just double up ;)

That has to be one of the cleanest GT racing cars I've seen in awhile.

Something so simple about the body design.

As long as it doesn't end up with 20 dive planes and various diffusers and splitters eventually...

I take it you're not a fan of all the aero devices?

Clean looking car. Good job Porsche.

I'm actually a bit disappointed with that livery, a lot duller than I expected. Don't get me wrong, it's clean and I like clean, but it only works from the top angle where the full design concept is revealed...which no-one will ever see at a race track...

Expected better from Porsche to be brutally honest!

It lost the saggy butt. Lost more FR than RR.

The side profile makes it look really "awkward" in my opinion..

A very small percentage of fans travel to see every race from trackside. Sponsorship/livery designs are done with TV in mind, which has many elevated camera angles.

I've worded that uncorrectly, actually.

"Clean" looking racecars, most of the time, end up lacking downforce or produce too much drag, or simply don't work. I believe this is far too simple to be fast from the get go, but then again, I could be wrong, hence the "I hope it doesn't end up with 20 dive planes on each side" thingie.

Really like the old school font they've used on the 911 logo, too. Very 60's-ish.

I like that too. Very solid car.

I like the new improvements of the 911 racer of this year. It would look better with the Falken livery or Flying Lizard to me. 👍

And someone is asking whoever wants a 458 GT2 Race Car, starting at $465K?..........

*thinking of buying it*.......

Purchase Accepted.....

Porsche Unveil the 911 RSR:

It's got latches to hold on some of the body panels like a prototype, interesting.

Hmm, where have I seen those design cues before?

Is it a variation of the Lola chassis?
I have not read any news on a Lotus prototype.
