I was in Imola, great weekend, I also saw Lucas Ordonez at the autograph session sunday morning and I say to him: "Vai Lucas!", he laugh!

Well nice to see the rumour from 2008 has come true. I wouldn't mind if they used their F1 livery, but yes I would love it if they brought back IMSA-Castrol. Silk Cut is out of the question these days with tobacco sponsorship limitations.

I hope the livery they pick is a bit more interesting than they used for the XKR GT3 (Dark green and later just gray). I think Green mixed with white like in F1 works best.

It does take away from the skill and I wish they didn't use them. At least for the FIA GT1 World Championship they removed TC from the cars.

I'm more exitced about going to Silverstone and seeing over 20 Group C cars do battle! :P

has the alms quali started yet? it says 8.30 but its 8.42 and theres no feed

GT is over they're about to do LMP classes.

Watching it on espn3.com but not sure where you live/what channel you're watching.

You can watch live timing on the ALMS website.

I gather they were sober at the time, right?:dopey:

Can never tell. I was surprised at their qualifying position and more surprised it took so long for them to fly off the track.

I'm super proud of Jaime Melo for taking second, he was really close to taking 1st in GT category but I think hit traffic in the last lap or so and lost all the time he'd gained on the vette. Sucks about BMW but if the conditions were right I really think Risi has the ability to win, even with Joey Hand as a factor.

Unlucky Pat Long, he lost it several hundred metres before he actually went off the track

Fantastic drive through from Henzler though 👍

My gosh, it turned into the 2009 Malaysian GP right now, so much rain. I haven't seen this much rain since a quali session at Lime Rock in recent years. Falken Tires have really been working toward this season, they got a special combo in the team right now.

And the race is live in Canada, so it's always a plus.

And now a red flag.

Didn't know this thread existed, I actually saw the ALMS race at Mosport in person, it was epic!

I know man I'm excited. Toni Vilander put Risi on podium for qualifying. So Jaime Melo gets to start in third. At least until his Ferrari dies or he kills it...

Challenge classes will be really fun to watch also.

I personally think they should make Autocon Racing compete in p2. Adjust the regs (they already showed the cars were so similar yesterday) and at least we have more than 1 driver in that class. I never got why they do that. Like the Panoz in the last race running classless. Basically just expensive advertising...

Now that's what we call a finish; the closest finish in ALMS history being 0.112 s. The Lola-Mazda had the Lola-Aston in the corners for most of the day, Steven Kane did a great job at the start and the first restart getting a run and overtake each time on turn 2, too bad AER engine reliability strikes again.

Before this, we had Wolf Henzler do more amazing things getting through the pack, although i doubt i was for position. It really reminded me of when Pirro passed a peugeot at the 12 Hours of Sebring last year, great stuff.
