I've just put the promotion up on the blog.

10m... The only thing I heard regarding 10m at Le Mans was when Jann told me the drivers' emergency kit contained a radio extension because it only worked within 10m of the car... Is there a regulation regarding how far from the car a driver can get before it's DQed?

Ah man! So conflicted!

That's so awesome, but so tragic at the same time!

They didn't get to be up on the podium :(

Sneaky Frenchies are so cunning they even put some guy named France waving the French flag to start the French race :p

Who even cares how far he ran away from the track?

It was probably the marshall who ordered Lapierre to get away from there in the first place because he was in a dangerous place. Yeah sure, Lapierre ran to the marshall to get tools to fix his car

They had been running for 23 hours without any problems. Give them abreak and stop the hypocrisy about the damn 30 metres.

Man you guys are stuck on this race when I'm already focused on what machinery both Toyota and Audi will bring for 2014.

I have a feeling Audi will go to a smaller diesel engine.

So I'm guessing you didn't see that we were joking (so I hope).

Because it is a RULE. You know what rules are don't you? Or perhaps you think they shouldn't be applied?

Where does that stop? You can then do anything you like, 10 Litre engine? 200 Litre Fuel tank? Let's run at 600K weight then.

Oh it's against the rules but who cares, they'll just let it slide.

And just like that, the whole thing has lost the funny.

I will not post my thoughts on wavers. I would get banned. :sly:

It is safe to say that everything that is wrong with GT-E is specifically down to non compliance with regulation due to wavers.

I think you're blowing things out of proportion and just being over critical tbh...

Are you actually being serious now? :dunce:

Do you seriously think Lapierre ran 20 metres further away and somehow got some magical tools to get that car going again?

It is a useless rule anyway which makes no sense at all. It suggests that in the case of you having a crash and someone's about to crash into you at the same spot, you better not run for safety if you want to recover your car.

As I said, the marshall probably got Lapierre out of there thinking it was getting wet rapidly and he might've been in a dangerous spot.

Would you deny Toyota the last hour of racing after 23 hours of problem-free racing and a year of such hard work just to finish this race? Just because he supposedly got clear of the car a bit further than you liked? Well, praise the lord you are not in charge of Le Mans ruling then.

So every driver who's had his car retired from the race for moving more than 10 metres from the car should now go back to the ACO and asked to be put back in the race?

I tell you what, lets do away with the RULES and see what happens because you clearly have trouble with the concept of RULES.

Let's disqualify every Audi for putting out the black smoke at night then. Boom, Toyota wins.

The trouble with that is that the black smoke rule has never once been used to pull an Audi from the race. If they had done that the first year Audi would have had to fix the issue. Instead we see smoke from the Audi every year and nothing gets done about it.

The 10 Metre rule on the other hand has always been acted upon which is why we end up in a situation where one rule is used and another is not.

This will inevitably leave one party feeling aggrieved because the rules are not being applied properly.

Well the 10m rule is usually used where its sensible. Not when the conditions are dangerous and cars are crashing everywhere...
There has to be some common sense applied in certain situations.
And in any case he didnt stray too far from the car so imo its no big deal.

No. Only a few 100 metres. :sly:

He was not escorted from the crash. He left of his own accord. Once he was well past 10 metres a marshall walked with him.

He knew he was done for the day. It was the safety car that made him go back to the car.
