Was at Targets Yesterday(how ironic considering what happened at the race)and I got to play the demo for "F1: Championship Edition". Someone needs to fix that damn remote. I was barely able to do any passing as I was twiching left and suddenly darting right constintly and this would be with little or no input from me. The rubber around the left joystick was gone too and it didn't help. Good grief, how in hell do you do that much damage to a remote? The same happened at wal-mart, except even worse was that the left joystick was just loose and didn't work. Some people just don't need to play if they can't take care of equipment well enough for everyone else to enjoy.:indiff:
As for how I did, I was lucky enough to win two times in a row at Monza, a Track I know well from "Total Immersion Racing". The first time I thought was way too easy and sure enough I found out it was on "easy" so I switch the difficulty mode to "Medium" with Damage on and it was near hell trying to avoid wrecking and taking myself out while trying to be careful with the unpredictable steering the remote had. On the last lap of the three I was stuck with, I was in third trying to catch up with Montoya and Kimi Raikkenon a they were flying. I was trying to get through without wrecking the car as the car was still twichy going through Lismo 1 and Lismo 2. I was then into the corner right after the long strait before the Right-left hander and was thinking "well, I guess 3rd will have to do" and suddenly at the carousel, I got a good enough run where I passed Raikkenon and 2 seconds later Montoya just before the finish line. Spectacular game, but someone please fix the remote! :grumpy:

And Everyone, I'm aquiring the PS3 thursday so I shall enjoy racing some of you guys. Anyone here have F1CE?

Had to send my PS3 back for a exchange, so I'm expecting a new - and hopefully better working one - soon. ;) And besides pre-ordering GT5:P, I plan on getting F1:CE when it does come back. So you may have a teammate on the track there. :D

Ah, sweet! I plan on racing with the Mclaren all the way:) Hope to see you there for testing at Monza:tup:

Super GT
Encouraging Run for Nismo Team Racerworkz
A very encouraging discovery on the tyre wear may be of use for the race. Team owner & driver RACECAR did two runs and felt encouraged by the results with hope for another victory. "I was very surprised by the Tyre life and decided to experament with a strategy the second time around. I'm hoping a top 5 finish will suffice, though a win would be great too."

NASCAR
Preparation comes early for Racerworkz
The Aaron's Chevys will be arriving tomarrow at Talladega. Crew Chief Brian Feldman has his sights set on giving the team owner a competive & dominate car once again. "We had a very encouraging test at Daytona and the data used for the race was good so I hoping for the same here. Talladega has historically been our test ground for new things and now with the Grand Nationals car for the first time alongside our cup car, the test data will be even more effective as both will be under going tests for tire wear, fuel consumption, Suspension settings, and Horsepower". Although Reliability has never been a problem for the racerworks Chevrolets this season, Brian says no chances will be taken as the cars will be prepared one week in advance before the April 15th race. "We've had no problems with our engines so naturally we are confident, but at the same time we aren't gonna rest on that fact. We are always at the front for eight years because we keep pushing the envelope and we intend on keeping it that way with the cup car and our Grand Nationals car".

Well guys, I'm thinking about what to do with Formula GT(if Earth doesn't want to take control) and I have come up with two new series so far in mind:

Formula Ferrari: Utilizing the Ferrari F2007 as the primery car for the competitors, this new series would take the place of FGT and become one of the first new GT5 based series.

Formula Lights: Formerly Formula GT, the series would now become a latter series leading into Formula Ferrari. It would retain its specs for the returning FGT competitors.

What do you guys think?

Just so that those guys who know me well, and would be interested......., would know what was going on!

The reasons behind the (Hopefully)temporary closure of the WES, and my seriously reduced participation on the LRS forum are both obvious and not so much....

First,
Obviously, myself and Anne have just had a baby girl 9 weeks ago.
Second,
It has not been an easy ride for any of us, since Grace is Lactose intolerant, so has had a few weeks of discomfort. But she has also been unwell due to stomach upsets and the 'flu'. So getting her into a routine has not been easy.
Third,
Anne my wife has been having a hard time of it too, with P.P.D. or baby-blues, however you describe them in your different countries.
Fourth,
I have not been getting much sleep, due to all of the above. Plus, my own problems!

So, my enthusiasm has been lower than normal.

On top of all that normal sh;t, we just found out that Grace has a heart murmur, that could be completely harmless, or be something more serious. And the GP wouldn't say which it sounded like!

But instead of completely cutting myself off from you guys who have been some of my greatest friends over the years. I am sharing my situation.
I hope that you will all "cut me some slack", and forgive me for my 'possible' future lapses in etiquette or judgement of comment.

Of course I (And my wife Anne) am overjoyed by having such a beautiful baby daughter, but times are hard (Both financially, and emotionally), and they take their toll. And we are both exhausted beyond belief.

I will always be here, and have in-fact just signed up to a series of convertible races, as well as committing to the GTPLMS.
The only series I am looking at "running" (With the help of Phil, hopefully)at the minute will be the S2 of 'The Historic "C" class series'
I just don't have the energy for any more!!!

Sorry for off-loading at you guys! But, who else better!
I just thought that you guys should know how I feel at the minute.

Neil

Its been an honor racing with you. I hate the fact that I barely had time for competing in the series I commited to so I sadly couldn't get time for the WES like I wanted to. Real life always comes before GTP so take as much time as you need. I look forward to Season 2 of GrouP C as I've been longing for that series to comeback and If there is any help needed, I now do have the free time to assist in anyway I can.

Offloading? Sorry? Please, that's what friends are for dude. It's good that you are able to talk to us all about what's going on. It is a lot to bear, and especially hard when your daughter's only 9weeks old.

You know that all of us here are here for ya, no matter what happens. Ever need a talk, we're all here.

Hey Neil,

Firstly, sharing the ups and downs of our lives is always a good thing and I'm glad you are indeed sharing. My son had a heart murmur and I understand completely how you and Anne are feeling about that right now. A murmur is common and is often not serious. Thankfully, these things are nowadays discovered early on and, if harmful, can be treated early. I think the best medicine for both you and Anne may be to get out of the house and see your friends and family if possible for some fun times and laughs. Laughter is great medicine, as we all know. Hope baby Grace, and you and Anne feel better soon.

Secondly, I'm sorry about the WES but I also feel it is a very good idea for a series and one which deserves to be revived at some point. My participation has been below normal due to my own demons. But I am ready to help out in a big way with the Historical C-class Series. I have spent well over 9 weeks now testing the C-class cars on 12 different tracks in an effort to produce a fair competition. I've got it all on an excel spreadsheet whenever you feel like looking at it.

So, my heart goes out to you, Anne and precious little Grace and I will keep you all in my thoughts.

Now - let's get ready to kick some @ss in the upcoming GTPLMS series.

FGT
Ferrari in talks for possible collaboration
It was rumored that with the addition of Ferrari that Formula GT may cease to exist, but Racerworks CEO and NARA Spokesman Micheal Rubens has recently revealed that FGT is not going anywhere and that it is actually being revamped for 2009. This comes ironically two weeks before Camyron's Test Drive with Mclaren. "We are making sure that Formula GT stays afloat and that it keeps growing". Micheal has been having some intering talks with Ferrari. According to Raceday weekly, Some of the discussion has included another series and possibly Ferrari becoming the exclusive Supplier of the chassis and engines. "Camyron has stated several times his desire to evolve FGT with the help of Ferrari as well as establishing a feeder series as its original founder intended to. We hope that can make that vision happen". If this goeson thorough, this could mean that Polyphony digital may return as a supplier of engine and chassis for the unnamed Feeder series while Ferrari supplies the new FGT series. Micheal says to expect an announcement later this year in september, after the season Finale in Grand Valley.

DTM
Racerworkz struggles
With Their Alfa under heavy repair and their Audi having Engine issues, Team Racerworkz has run into a very serious problem. The #5 Shell Alfa Romeo Crashed heavily in the closing stages of the warm-up session, Disabling them from coming to the grid and adding frustraition to what was an already bad weekend with the car suffing gearbox trouble during qualifying. M-Klasse Wouldn't be any better with the #5 Bosch Audi having fuel pressure problems during the race, dropping four spots. Team owner Camyron Jackson is still wondering what has gone wrong. "We have enough trouble with the Alfa even being able to finish well and then something like this happening to us doesn't do anything to help. I'm very surprised about the audi as we have been bullet proof with this car so far and this happening to us is very odd." Jackson hopes to get both problems sorted with the cars before the 5th round at Grand Valley."We are in a very important spot in the Points for the M-Klasse and we need a good finish for K-Klasse to get valuable points so we don't need anymore of these to happen to us"

NASCAR
On to Charlotte
With Jackson riding on winning streak dating back to the opening race and coming off a very dissapointing race in Japan , Crew Chief Brian feldman hopes to help his boss cheer up by giving him another win in both series this week. Both cars have arrived from the team's shop in Dallas and are ready to go for this week, beginning with NASCAR Nationals Practice. "The Mile 1/2 tracks are our strong suit along with the road courses so Hopefully We can give Camyron a good car to do well this weekend". The Hendrick cars are however looking mighty strong as proven by their finish at the last four races. "The Hendrick cars have been catching up steadily with us so we are gonna keep a close watch on them."

Our thoughts are with you and family Neil .. spend your energy where its needed most mate .. real life issues take precedence .

I'd volunteer to take over the running of the WES but im often away on business and probably wouldn't be able to give it the attention it deserves .. though i may change my mind at some point ?

So, on a completely different topic; I'm was thinking of changing my username to all lower case eracer. But that doesn't look quite right. I thought eRacer may look a bit better. What do you all think? Trivial, I know, but work is slow these days and I have way too much time on my hands/mind. :)

DTM
Preparations for deep forest underway
After a two week break, The DTM will be back in competition this week and the Racerworks team is waisting no time in preparation after coming off a win in the M-Klasse and a 4th place in K-Klasse. Team manager Dean Phillips says that the team is ahead of schedule and is truly on their way "The team has really stepped up thier preparation and its been astounding as to how quicky its taken place. We've always prided ourselves on Being Professional and now we can be proud to be just as fast too". Team owner Camyron, who is currently in Sonoma California for the NASCAR race, said in a phone call that he is very impressed and proud of the progress the team has made.

NASCAR
Camyron looks to dominate Infineon and leave on a high note
After racing on tracks ranging from the super speedways to the short tracks, now comes the first road course race of the season and Camyron is happily anticipating the race weekend. "I have been waiting for this weekend and its finally here." After coming off yet another dominating win at Michigan, He now sets his sights on adding another trophy from this track. "This and Watkins Glen are home for me because I''ve started out a road racer so I really look forward to this weekend." Its also somewhat a downweek as today Camyron announces his retirement from the Cup series beginning after the last race at Homestead Miami. "Its been 8 great years here and I have enjoyed them very much. I think that the changes that have been placed for next year are something I'm not positive about and instead of just sitting and complaining, it be better to just head for greener pastures so to speak" He was reffering to the implementation of the COT as well as new tight rules on the cars, including the aero packages. He did confirm that he would remain fulltime in the Busch series and would still do some Craftsman truck races, putting to rest all rumors of him leaving NASCAR completely. "I've enjoyed the challenge of the Busch Series. It reminds so much of when I first started how competitive it is so I plan on staying here. I also enjoyed the trucks as they are really fun and I think I may have a future with those after this year so I diffinately will continue doing some of the races. The Conner Racing team is in its learning year with these trucks as am I, but we've done really well with the wins we've had together and I look forward to much more success with them" With that announcement, Camyron now focuses on continuing his winning streak and winning here for the last time in cup.

NASCAR
Camyron Dominates Infineon
After a wild and chaotic race, it is Camyron who comes across the line as the winner of the Infineon 250. Jackson started from pole and from The point of his successful block of Kevin Harvick, he never looked back. Even with pitstops, his lead was far too big for anyone to catch him. He woukd end up taking a 8 second victory. "This is a very awesome weekend for me and the crew. They gave me an incredible car and I just drove it home. I thank all the guys here." With this win, Jackson Has one more race before he clinches the title, but even this won't stop him from contending for the win. "I'm very glad to have the championship, but I want to end my career here on a very high note and show what my team can do so I'll keep digging."

DTM
Success at Deep Forest
The Racerworkz team celebrates for the second day in row as Camyron Takes second in the K-Klasse and Wins in M-Klasse in sunday's DTM race. "My crew did a very nice job in both races. We made more pitstops then anyone else, but we were able to keep pace and to me, it mattered more here then the Tire did because of the momentum you have to carry around this track." As a Result of his triumph in the M-Klasse, he now takes the lead of the points and Becomes one of a Hand full of drivers to Do the triple, Capturing Pole, Setting the fastest lap, and beating the closest compititor by about a Minute. The Series will now head to the sacred Nurburgring, a track where Camyron has never finished outside the podium in every series he's competed in. "I look forward to the next round as I've known it so well. Its a course that I think will greatly increase my chances in the K-Klasse.

FGT
Thes final season to begin in the next two months with new management
Camryon Has announced during the press conference Yesterday that Formula GT will begin its last season in August. " I am looking to get this series started in its final time as the premiere series. Hopefully, this will go Much better then the previous seasons and we'll have consistant managing" He also has made clear that he will be seeking Four people to Assist him in running the series." I've decided this time around to seek out some assitance to ensure its governed properly and so when I may be unavailable, it will not be a severe problem as to who would subsitute me. I at the moment have not gotten anyone for the job just yet, but I intend on getting some members with very encouraging experiance in administraiting a series". When asked about the discussions with Ferrari, that were done a month ago, He also made a announcement that could be monumental. "We have come to a very good agreement on the series as they are very willing to aid in its growth. I think this is a good day for all of us as it may guarantee that this series is alive and will continue" This announcement means that Ferrari will supply cars for the 2009 series while Polyphony Digital will continue to Supply thier cars for a new FGT series that will be rebadged with a new name to signify its new purpose as a ladder series.

NASCAR
Jackson sweeps Daytona
Camyron Jackson once again was on form as he won Mondays Winn Dixie 250 and Tuesday's Pepsi 400. Jackson started from 9th Position in the Grand National race and remained in the top ten all rae long. He eventually took the lead from the #8 car of Mark Martin by way of traffic and from that point on went to the checkered flag. Then he started a surprising 43rd before a close call netted him 16 positions on the first lap. As he did in the 250 the day before, he was in the top ten all night, mainly leading the race. Eventually after the second and final caution, he had a battle for the lead with Clint Bowyer. He won in spectacular style as he cross the line by only 2 inches. "Our cars ran excellent both days. We really had a handful with the Childress and DEI cars so we really had to rely mainly on drafting with them." Jackson now has successfully sealed both the Nextel Cup and Grand National championships and has become the first to do so with only 20 races to go "It really couldn't have gotten any better then here at Daytona. This is where my NASCAR career began, its where my team first started and its now where me and my team's biggest triumph has taken place."

Sportscars
Racerworkz may be getting some new toys and new team
Thier is currently a rumor going around that Audi may have perhaps the most interesting R10 Customer. Racerworkz, one of many teams in the GTPDTM running the Audi A4, may be getting a new Diesel powered sportscar in the garage according to Raceday weekly. Racerworks CEO and NARA Spokesman Micheal Rubens says while they would be interested in doing so, its not on their agenda at the moment. However, he did mention that racerworks owner and driver Camyron Jackson Has shown interest in the Murcielagos and is currently in talks with Reiter Engineering. "He's been looking into it for quite while but he's made it more clear lately" To make things even more interesting, he also revealed that Jackson is looking into having possibly two cars and a new teammate. When Jackson was contacted about it, he confirmed it as he said "Its definately been a thought I've had for a while. I really would like to make this happen and if I'm lucky enough, I hope to have the car delivered by September." He then also answered about the rumor. "Very interesting rumor. Its very ironic since I've been working with Audi in the GTPLMS and DTM. I'm not certain that it'll happen soon as AUdi haven't been quite clear on the future of their R10 TDI. It would be great to do, but it would take alot of convincing for that to happen because not just anyone can own or drive that car." So it would appear that indeed its rumor, but the Lamboghini campeign sure looks promising.

Guys, has anyone heard from Chris (ICallShotgun)?

I hope that whatever keeps him from the forum is nothing too serious and that he will eventually resurface. But, as the days go by, I fear my hopes are fading and I'm sad to think that a fellow racer may have fallen on some seriously bad luck, or worse.

So, if anyone knows anything, please share.

Hey all

I just need someone to advise any Egyptian GTPlanet racer, any of those who do the WRS thing as I've been searching for a MaxDrive but can't find one here :( it's hard to find these stuff here in Egypt....

ATTENTION

Due to the increasingly disturbing absence of Chief Steward ICallShotgun, I have taken over GTPLMS for the time being. I will be taking his place until his return. If he does come back, then the series wil be handed back to him. As of now, the series is now on its second round. All who have signed up are encouraged to participate. I will be PMing those who haven't submitted their times. Also, The last season of Formula GT will be coming this thursday. Anyone interested in it will have until August 28th, 6:00 PM to sign-up. The Interest/Sign-up thread will be here on thursday at 3:00 sharp. That is all for now.

A lone Cell phone picture was the only evidence of the incident

Formula GT
Lightning nearly strikes twice at the green hell
Defending FGT champion RACECAR narrowly avoided having his career abruptly ended as his SAR-08 was found upside down in pieces at Flagplutz, the exact same spot where Mobius F1 Test driver Secastion Berke was killed last season. The incident was first reported at 2:34 Wednesday afternoon. The Crew is currently investigating the cause. At 12:00 earlier today, a witness came forward and showed them cell phone a picture from their cellphone. It has lead chief Mechanic Corey Bates thinking the immediate cause was suspension failure. " He was riding the curbs quite alot, but that's never happened. Looking at where the car was resting and how he is sideways off the ground, I thinking it was stressed enough that it snapped apart and sent him into the will and around he went." RACECAR was air lifted to the local care center and has been reported as alert and talking. He is expected to take part in this year's FGT championship.

Guys, I got to play GT5P at my local Fry's today!!!! Its alot different and there's 2 things in only three laps I've learned with the wheel:

1. I've instinctively learned to be more smooth and not to turn like a maniac as I got through the corners better.
2. I need to turn the damn Active steering off! The wheel goes left to right for some reason and its annoying, especially under braking :grumpy:

Otherwise, It was fun. I was running around the Daytona Road Course and I learned very fast.

Expansion is the key word
Racerworkz to expand its motorsports operation even more in 09

RACECAR confirmed in a recent interview that he will be fielding a four car effort, including one he's driving, for the NASCAR National series and will also campeign two trucks in a partnership with Connor racing. He will drive the #32 Compaq car while the the other numbers will be #20, #22 and #36 while the trucks will be his #18 Motorola Truck and the #11 Truck. No sponsors have been announced nor have any driver line-ups or who will be the manufacterer in particular though its been rumored to be toyota, but he says he hopes to have them by October and is willing to hold an interview with any willing driver for his team. "Even if there won't be any full time drivers, I will see to it to get part-time schedule deals for those that are available to drive them". its also been confirmed that he will go racing in the WLMS GT1 class. No Manufacterers or sponsors have been announced nor has the driver for the second car, but he will be driving one of them and will be seeking Michelin as the tire supplier.

Open-Wheel Racing to expand
RACECAR introduces new series
RACECAR recently announced this morning at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca that he will introduce yet another F1 based series. The series mentioned is Formula Grand Prix. In a agreement with the constructors, the series will use 2006 F1 chassis with both Aero and Mechanical tweaks to keep them up to performance levels of the current machines in F1. Likewise, the schedule will be mostly shared with F1 with a few exceptions. One big example is instead of a race weekend at Fuji, the FGP will share one at Suzuka alongside Formula Ferrari. No date has been set for the first race, but testing will be taking place at Suzuka, beginning in October alongside Formula Ferrari. When asked about FGT, RACECAR had an Surprising answer "I've decided to cancel future plans of 09. Its pretty much in its death bed so there isn't much that can be done with it" With that, RACECAR confirms FGT is effectively over after this season.

Pieces coming together for Racerworkz Motorsports
Sponsors announced for Nationwide and Craftsman Truck
Another notable announcement was when RACECAR confirmed sponsors for the three new cars he will field for the Nationwide series as well as the truck series. Fry's Electronics will sponsor the #20 car, UPS will sponsor the #22 car, and Pizza Hut Will sponsor the #36 car. For the Craftsman Truck Series, Verizon Wireless will sponsor the #11 Truck. There still has been nothing on Driver line ups or Manufacterer announced, but RACECAR has said that he will make the announcement at Homestead Miami Speedway. Rumor has it that he will also be getting engineering help from one of the Big cup teams as well.

Mystery of final race coming closer
Location of Gran Turismo GP to be revealed at US GP

GTMSA chairman RACECAR gripped everyone's attention at the GTMSA press conference yesterday afternoon when he announced that the Location for the final Gran Turismo GP would be revealed at the United States Grand Prix. "I think its location will surprise everyone. I think since its gonna have its race date back, its appropreate to give the fans a small taste of things to come for 09" A date that seems to fit as its a week after the USGP and a day before the first of the five day shakedown for the Formula Ferrari which will replace the aging FGT alongside the cars for Formula GP.

BTW, post #300. "THIS IS SPARTA!"
