Hey there, Champ:) Long time no see.

Merry Christmas to all of you. Hope you enjoy the image I've attached to this message. :D

Spent 3 hours downloading the online patch for GT5.....what a dissapointment. Most all the drivers I raced against were playing bumper cars instead of racing. A very rude group of drivers, they're not GTP guys!!! Drivers cutting you off, ramming into you not letting you have a lane...a total mess but I had a blast! Not sure it was worth all the download time. Maybe it will calm down after awhile. To tell you how bad the other drivers were I was the best driver in all the 6 races I did, the rest must have been a bunch of 8 year olds!!!!

Here's hoping a future update includes some sort of way a person who is not racing can be the 'chief steward' for the races and hand down the appropiate penalties(including black flags) to the racers should they do actions similar to what you described. And it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it in GT5 either.;)

I remember a few months ago Earth posted a series of YouTube videos detailing some of the online racing hosting features in NASCAR 2003 from Papyrus and thought the online racing function in GT5 and future editions should have something similar to it. My guess is you'll have to ask Earth via PM for the link to the post.

Hey there, Champ:) Long time no see.

Yeah... Going to come back soon) I hope to see online competitions here when most of us will get Prologue. 👍
Racing in "CMR Dirt" online a bit, but there's no doubt that there's no any other game that can compare with GT. It seems to be amazing when we will have our own online Championship. 👍👍 Good luck and see you soon :)

I got me new PSP for Christmas and I've been playing Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron online alot. Very fun to kill the people. I have been away from the PS2(with the exception of TOCA 3) and GT4 for awhile.

Well then GT4 defistation, keep tuned to the Long Race Series section of the Forums for further updates. ;):D

Guys and Gals!

I have decided to drop the W.E.S. qualifier race as a requirement to race in the series!
It seems to have been perceived as a restrictive requirement that has stopped some of you guys and gals from participating.

This series is a FREE TO ENTER, NO REQUIREMENT OF REPEATED PARTICIPATION SERIES, PLAY AS YOU WISH, format, And this has been lost in the translation.

So therefore, the loss of the qualifier race.

Hope you all understand, and I would hope you will promote the series as widely as you can?

Yours Respectfully

Neil

Has anyone ever run the run-flat tires on your RL car? I have them on my Mini S and yesterday a light came on the dash I had never seen, thought it was a burned out light or something. I drove about 30 miles with the light on mostly on interstate at 80 -90 MPH. When I got back to work I pulled out the manual and found the light was for a flat tire, tried putting air in the tire but it wouldn't accept any air. After looking the tire over carefully I found the steel belts were sticking out from the inside of the tire, I'm very lucky it didn't seperate at high speed and cause an accident. Called Mini and they said to have it towed up to them and they'd put new run-flats on for $299.00 each plus tax , balance etc. I told them I was going to buy regular tires from my mechanic for $79.00 each, his response was if you get another flat you won't have a spare so I told him I'd have an extra $1000.00 by buying regular tires and would just have it towed if neccessary. Only have 27000 miles on the car but the Perelli 17" run-flats were almost bald. I'd advise staying away from run-flats until they come way down in price.

I believe, that you will find that the handling (or at least the ride comfort) will improve greatly on the switch to std tyres of the same dimensions buddy!

Those run-flats have to have such hard side-walls, so that they seem to stay up, that they really effect the handling and comfort.

And as you say, they are just stupidly priced to-boot!

Right you are oh wise and wonderous one!!! Just drove the Mini with regular tires and it is a smoother more comfortable ride.

We're sweating to death at work this week, someone stole all 3 AC units off our roof on Mon. night, so the three businesses have no air, not even a fan to help cool us down. Humidity today is 98%. We need to keep the print shop at 55% humidity or the paper gets all messed up. If there's a drop of water in the air paper will grab it up, then it's near impossible to run it thru the presses. Ah the joys of owning your own business.

Congratulations Neil and Anne!! I just noticed your avatar had changed and wish to say congrats - she's beautiful, Neil. Ya know, those baby seats look a lot like racing seats in some ways. Get her started right away! Before you know it she'll be making lots of money sim racing GT10!! :D

Thanks Phil!

Mucho apreciato!

The girls should be home sometime tomorrow, and I can't wait!
No-one ever warned me about how quickly I would be wrapped around her little finger, without her even trying!!!!!

Bugger me! Those females have us by the short and curlies from the moment they are born! I am completely within her power, and all she has to do is gurgle!

God I am so in love!
Neil

I am so late, but congratulations TK 👍 Gonna have to lay off the guiness for bit now. Hope you don't mind if I take those for you ;)

:tup:Congrats to NEIL and family with very best wishes from this bloke down under .

Change of subject .. Question : Does anyone want me to provide info for each round of the Aussie Supercar V8's this season ?

That would be great since I don't have any means to keep up with the series.

Ah just for the hell of it, here are my first ever times from GTHD:

Lap 1: 1'22.280

Lap 2: 1'20.166

That game feels alot different then what I'm used with GT4. I can't wait to see what GT5P is like.

Thanks Phil!

Oh yes I did warn you buddy, I told you she would immediately be the center of your universe and it will stay that way until her teens. That's the hardest thing with daughters, you are the most important male in their life, don't be surprised when she's about 4 or 5 and tells you she wants to marry you when she's older. Then one dark and gloomy day you become the enemy and are not the most important man in her life anymore, it hurts greatly but it's part of their growing up and becomming a woman. But don't fret, after the several teen years when you're the monster she will come around and again look at you as the most important man. For about 3 years my youngest and I couldn't be in the same room together and if we were it would be constant fighting, but now she is one of my closest friends as well as a daughter and she wants to find a man to marry just like her father. All in all it is totally worth it and a wonderful journey. You and Anne will be great parents and experience a deep love you never thought existed. You have a fantastic journey awaiting you my friend, an experience that will become your most treasured of memories. I never had a son (that I know of) and honestly don't mind it at all, my daughters are the brightest spots in my life, along with my wife and of course my best friend Maximo (my dog), the son I never had. Alright, enough mush, think I took too many pain pills and they always mess with my head, oh well I'm going driving.

Nice thoughts there Drew .. for your daughter to want a husband as good as her dad must mean your a decent sort of a bloke . 👍

I guess TK has lots to look forward to 👍

Thanks Marty, and yes TK is experiencing a life changing event right now. I know we all wish him , his wife and his new daughter a wonderful new chapter in their lives.

Good to see STONER winning the Qatar GP 👍

Highlight of the race : watching Stoner handing over his ear plugs {after the finish} to his wife , who takes them in one hand and within .5 of a second ; and with the other .. slips his wedding ring back onto his finger .

Disappointment of the race : no champagne on the dias .

Egg on face award : Rossi .

Most eagerly anticipated events that didn't happen?

J.T. winning 1st race! :(
Seeing Stoner cry, after J.T. won instead of him.
I have to say Stoner's face after final qualifying was a picture!

Thing I didn't want to see happen?

Lorrenzo coming in second, cocky little sh;t! :grumpy:

Rossi must be the big disappointment .. insisting that he gets to use bridgestone tyres , even though the team had chosen to use michelins . His 'rookie' team mate takes second place in the 1st race {on michelins} .. Rossi finishes 5th , even though Rossi doesn't do too well at Qatar it seems that he has made the wrong decision in using Bridgestone rubber . The next race is at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain .. compulsive viewing indeed .

I was able to watch the race on Sunday night, and it was a interesting watch indeed. Gotta hand it to the people at Musco with the job they did on lighting up the course in the desert night. ;)

BTW, what do you think of the new MotoGP World Championship Trophy? :D:tup: This new trophy has the names of the World Champion from each year of the series along with the bike model and number they raced with that season on small plates that spiral up from the carbon fiber base of the trophy into what looks like a spiraling checkered flag. Casey Stoner was the first rider to receive this trophy at the end of the final race of the season in Valencia. They'll be awarding this trophy from now until the end of the 2023 (75th Anniversary) MotoGP season.

And to the victor goes the new spoils. :sly:

Have any of you heard of this company? The wheel is a modified G25 and the brakes look to be original JL brakes. Expensive compared to the G25, but not so in comparison to other, high end, products from FREX for example. Just curious if anyone knows about this company.

Thanks,
Phil
