I ordered the GT4 Chinese version from play-asia around Oct or Nov. It has been already shipped :)

Did you go with shipping that has a tracking option? If yes, what stage is your parcel up to?

Nope I chose the cheap shipping method :p I didn't really want to spend another $15 or 20USD just to get the game a few days earlier and get hit with customs taxes and handling fees from the shipping company.
And a friend of mine who ordered a few weeks before me got his order shipped too. Same cheap shipping method though...

This news was posted at Play-Asia as of 22:24 HKT on 12/28...

"We have started shipping the first batch of Gran Turismo 4 preorders today. While more or less all preorders of the Asian Chinese language and Asian Japanese language versions were fully cleared, the remainder of yet unshipped Japanese version preorders are anticipated to ship tomorrow as well as the day after. Additionally, the Memory Card 8MB Premium Series - Gran Turismo 4 and PlayStation2 Racing Pack are also expected to ship within the next few days as well."

So my Japanese version still shows Preparing Order and this might explain why.

Just a heads up.

Hmm I don't think its worthwhile for me then. Its annoying having to wait another 2 months though unless I manage to borrow a copy of the Japanese version in the mean while.

I'm still fearing another release date slip...

Same here. Last time GT3 was released in Japan, then in the US in April and in Europe in July or something. Not taking a chance this time, and besides I want to be able to compare the versions anyway.

Same thing here, with the same hours (local HK hours).
Games must be in the plane ... maybe arrived.
The next tracking step must be probably something like "Scan at the Arrival Airport".

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... :banghead:

Same for me.
Strange. They send one plane for Paris/Geneva ???
I can't believe it.

I hope the technical problem isn't "We had to drop the shipment in the sea" :grumpy:

lik-sang now has my copy underway too. Will be interesting to see if play-asia beats lik-sang again (in all fairness, play-asia costs 3-4 euros more so it should win too). My lik-sang copy is the Chinese one and Lumines (for PSP) is in the same shipment. ;)

Order shipped by Lik-Sang just now. Free Global shipping selected so we'll have to see how long that takes. It mentions 7-20 days in the e-mail. Urgh I don't know how am I going to wait for that long :(

Latest Terrorist Attack: Al Quaeda Hijacks Plane Full Of Video Games To Bring Desparate Western Gamers To A Nervous Breakdown?

@Coyote: my PSP flew to Cologne, and then transferred to Amsterdam from there. So it's certainly possible. Also, under the current circumstances, it's more likely that the sea drops on the shipment than vice versa ... (ok, that's almost not funny)

If the UK date gets pushed back even more I may buy a USA PS2 to import GT4 from the USA once its out.

While still keeping my current UK PS2.

If I order from Lik-Sang and they deliver to the UK, am I eligible to pay import tax?

Whether you'll pay or not import taxes, In Italy it depends all on your luck!
So far I've always been lucky :) 👍

Who actualy charges you for the import tax? Does it get added onto your bill? I've ordered a couple of games and haven't heard anything about import tax.

Oh yeah and my order was shipped todday at lik-sang, well my two Chinese copies (one for me one for Keeno_UK) and I have a gameshop pre ordering a Japanese version for me.

My order has been shipped today! Yeah! I ordered the Japanese version if this makes any difference from the Chinese? I will get so far through this game, then when the American version is out I will have to start all over again!

I thought everything imported had to have some kind of tax paid on it. I've ordered GT4 and a NTSC PS2 from there for around £150. I'm sure I will have to pay some kind of import tax. Not sure how it's paid. I assume customs and excise will give me an invoice.
