Was a great race for us with the correct spec!:) was a great advertisement for what the championship is all about,15 laps of bumper to bumper racing.👍

Glad it's been cleared up that modified transmission's are not allowed...not really playing fair when your car is potentially 2.5-3 seconds a lap faster than everybody else!:dunce: Half a second faster by turn 2!:ouch:

Upon viewing the replay it was clear there was also another car using a modified transmission:sly: 5th gear into turn 2 is a bit of a giveaway.

Not too bad if it's someones first race but Kramer took part in race 1 at suzuka so knew the rules beforehand.

Whatever though can't wait for the cape ring round now:tup:.

Well I personally think they should be called out if they are using illegal mods. Really if you want to confirm someone is using a custom tranny, you have to compare speed vs rpm.

The problem with all of your theories is that even though I had the custom tranny installed, I had my gear ratio set at the exact same ratio as the stock tranny has, 163 MPH. So how would that make me any faster if my gear ratios are the same?????????

Everyone should maybe learn the facts before speaking up about things they do not know. Bascially I got called out for being the better driver and accused of cheating without any prior knowledge or investigation.

And if someone would please throw a LSD on their car and try to match my split times/total 15 lap time I would appreciate it, because last I checked a LSD does not add HP, and honestly I wouldnt know what to do with an LSD if I had installed it on purpose... but i will prove that i am still the better driver next race and you can all eat your words. nuf said.

Hey everyone, great race on Thursday night! Great to see some new drivers in the competition.

On the subject of rules :banghead:

Kramer264 as i read in your post you admit to breaking the rules, it doesn't matter in any shape or form what you did to compensate for this at the end of the day you were disqualified for rule breaking. No one has made a judgement about your driving abilities, at the end of the day we all need to stick to the rules so that everyone can enjoy a good, fair, fun race :gtpflag:

I believe I had the custom tranny installed on my car. I went over my settings and saw I had it installed. sooooorrryyyyyy!!!! I still managed to completely suck in the race lol. I'll make sure its not installed for next race, I don't even think the settings were changed, but its besides the point. very sorry.

I think you might be talking about me here. My car has a standard gearbox, I was driving into turn 2 in 5th gear, because I short-shift my car everywhere . . . Why??

Well I thought about keeping this secret. But no, I came here to have good close racing, not be in a field where some guys have an advantage, when others don't. Short-shifting gives me an advantage.

The reason is... these cars in this tuned up configuration have the bulk of their torque down in the low revs. Go to the car settings screen and look at the torque and HP graph. The turbo is a low RPM turbo.

When I saw this torque HP graph. I thought that others out there must have seen it. That we'd all be short-shifting, only noobs would be in the dark. The engine has a real strong throaty noise down low, that's that first clue I got.

Anyway so I did some tests before the Tsukba race. I set a ghost lap ( on another track with a good start straight ) by nudging my car up to the start line, stopping it dead. Then doing a simulated race start. Cruise the rest of the lap to set a ghost replay. I did it this way as a regular ghost replay has the car starting 200-300m back with a rolling start which isn't useful here.

So I then did more and more simulated starts, comparing to the ghost replay and adjusted my shifting point down until finding the sweet spot. Just short of 6,000 RPM.

I didn't go exceptionally well at Tsukba as I didn't get warmed up until 1/3rd of the way into the race + I had these 2 guys that were battling each other in front of me ( don't worry I was able to blast by them on the straight using the low down torque, what were their names again?? ) by the time I got clear of them and found my rhythm I was alone on the track with no one around me.

Go out and give short-shifting a try. See you at the next race. :)

Thank you for explaining why I won the last race by 15 seconds and not because I was cheating or using a better car then everyone.

Yeah, I wasn't going to mention you in my post.

I thought you might be a bit angry at me for giving away the idea. :grumpy:

When I first got to the track at Tsukba, I checked to see who else was short shifting. You were the only other guy who'd figured it out.

I actually posted a few pages ago about the Tsukba race, saying that you were disqualified for some transmission issue thing, partly to help throw the others off the real story. But I re-thought it through. it's better to be up-front about it and be racing on a level playing field. Better that than have a bunch of fellow on-line racers think that I (we) are cheating.

I came here to find good level racing so. . . yeah I let the cat out of the bag.

If you watch the replay you ca see it though, and I told JDM thats what was happening. I dont really mind people diong it, I just prefer to sit in at and do my thing.

What is your best time on Cape Ring South so far?

Quite good, thanks for asking. :)

in the area of 1min34s if I remember right

Interesting choice of track, I think it'll be a challenge for the field to get through sections of the track where there's only one driving line. We could all end up 'pinballing' off each other.

Plus there's 3 hairpin bends that will cause issues. :scared:

I wish this game had semi-automatic. Although I really should learn manual. The race tonight should be fun!! Can't wait!

Race has been run, good racing, some brilliant lap times up the front.

1st - Wiifreak had a massive win.
2nd - GTP_JDMracer
3rd - Me
4th - Mushy_Peaz

lower placings - I can't remember.

Wiifreak was 11.5 or so seconds ahead of GTP_JDMracer. So 1st and 2nd each had the track to themselves
I was 28 seconds behind Wiifreak with Mushy_Peaz following on my bumper for the last 5-6 laps.

I can relate the race as I experienced it.

I messed up the start totally, sitting on the line spinning tires. At the first corner I was practically in last, so I decided to sit back to see if there was a big mess. A few guys got bad oversteer, but most made it through okay.

It took 3 or 4 more laps for me to work back up into 3rd place. GT4som had a big slide out right in front of me. I had heard a TV commentator once say that when a race-car spins, the best thing to do is aim for where they are. Because by the time you get there, they'll be gone. It worked, VERY close shave, driving through a cloud of tire smoke. I saved the replay, might post a picture - it was quite a moment.

So for the last 5-6 laps, it was a battle for 3rd between me and Mushy_Peaz, he kept it clean. I seemed to be faster in the winding sections, but he'd catch up in the braking zones. So we both did well not to have any impacts, it was clean throughout. He could draft me down the long main straight and pull up alongside. But he never tried to barge past into turn one. He did get past once when I had made a mess of turn 1. But he got out of shape in the winding section that follows - I figure he was over-eager to try and pull away from me or was watching his mirror. Either way he got out of shape and lost all his speed, I got past and we resumed the pattern as before.

Great race all up, that's the sort of racing I had hoped to find by joining a series that has a bunch of guys who take it seriously.

Looking forward to the next one. Shame it's almost over.

Perhaps đź’ˇ we could think about having more championships following this one. These little cars are great to drive, and they respond well to adjustments made to suspension, quite well from my experience.

So I win by 15 sec and get immediatly accused of cheating and DQ'd instantly with no regard.

And Wiifreak wins by 12 seconds and gets praised as a great racer and is congratulated... how does that seem fair again?

Wiifreak only had that massive lead because i made two really bad mistakes.

Massive apology for missing the last race, so tired after college :/

Also can I suggest the Copen and Autozam for a season? :)

Is it ok if I join for the last race for this month, or should I wait until the next set of races start? I know I have no chance of winning, but I'd like to jump in as soon as I can :D

I'll participate in next months championship, I don't know about yall but I enjoy racing the slower cars more than the uber fast ones.
